Lakers have improved so much without Kobe and Byron Scott. gee those 2 really held them back, but it helped them get some nice draft picks which has helped too.
Looks like they'll beat OKC now and move to a winning record again at 8-7.
Last time they had a winning record before this season was Dec 2013

Looking at their Wins Produced scores (my metric of choice), last season they were led by Lou-Will with 4.81 Wins Produced and just had 4 who were above average on a per-48 minutes basis (Lou-Will, Bass, Nance and Black). On the other hand, Kobe was at -3.12 WP in 66 games. That is, Kobe's production cost them 3.12 wins!

This year (although early going) they have Nick Young(!), Randle and Mozgov playing above average, Black and Lou-Will at star level and Nance playing at superstar level. When young guards Clarkson and Russell start putting more efficient games together in Walton's offence, they will have a really solid core.

I just logged in to see who was the lucky winner of Jusuf Nurkic in Premier.

I reckon most of us wouldve had a waiver claim on him, but i was still optimistically crossing my fingers with my waiver rank of 12 lol

Well played @HEAVER ive noticed you being conservative with waiver pickups and knabbing guys just after they cleared waivers to preserve your rank, and now its paid off being able to pick up Nurkic.

@Steve can you explain why he was dropped? you weren't getting tips from your mate @Jamie_____ were you lol

They used to slow down and run iso for kobe too much, and we all know his terrible FG %s. and Byron Scott had no idea. his rotations were whack and he had no faith in his players, he would call plays from the side.
Now theyve picked up their pace and are sharing the load.

Everyone knows they were tanking last couple of years and it's interesting to see it pay off so quickly.

As a Kobe hater, im enjoying seeing them thrive now

Nurkic was not part of my team. I am not sure who dropped him?

I did not put a waiver claim in for Nurkic.

Why do you need Nurkic, when you can have fantasy All Star Trevor Booker instead :)

I can see understand why someone would drop Nurkic. The Nugs frontcourt is a mess with Jokic, Manimal and Nurkic competing for minutes. There is no guarantee of consistent scores as Malone has proven that he will stick with the hot hand to the detriment of others. I was that close to picking up Jokic very early in the draft as I was keen on him but I changed my mind at the last moment.

Couldn't be more pleased with how my lineup finished the week - 457/9. It would be safe to say that midweek I was feeling VERY nervous!
