If I had a vote (which I don't), I would vote for Terry because

Quote from chels on September 5, 2012, 13:22 well I wonder who sent me the banknotes then? Well done JB for actually asking if TiB was a potential candidate - I guess I (we?) just assumed that was the go. So rude, so remiss, such ORFFAly bad manners.
Look closely at those banknotes chels. Perhaps, like me, you have the absent minded habit of feeling them while in your pocket? .

Quote from TerryinBangkok on September 5, 2012, 13:40 Don't know about work commitments in the West, but I will nominate anthak.
Hahaha
Jeez, those cockies make a lot of noise when they get to it. Please visit the main ORFFA thread peeps. .

Quote from jimbowan on September 5, 2012, 12:43 Otherwise I am happy for anyone other than Fitzy to do it.
Why not me? I don't want to do it but why single me out? I vote for TiB as well
Thank you Fitzy. JB was just having a little joke at your expense. When you are the junior member of the panel, expect a lot of ribbing. From what I can see you manage to hand it back fairly well.
Don't think it was a joke really! But can see why you wouldn't want me to be doing it... I do expect it, old people don't have much to do really do they, gotta spend there time doing something I guess, if they enjoy making a joke out of me then its all good!
Fitzy.....handing it straight back Kids these days....
LOL Fitzy no offence intended young master! Just messing around I would entirely expect you to be nominated before me!
Time's up. We didn't actually have votes, but the nominations did it. We had a 66% return, which is not bad. 11 coaches nominated that bloke from Bangkok, so that will have to do going into 2013, so can accept on that basis. Abstentions were dmandrews, melbandy, Xen, P'rap, Big Lance and Nick. dmandrews and Nick never have much to say, but usually get their teams in. Lance is not a participator and I am dirty on andy and the dinosaur. X was to be expected.
Welcome to your throne TiB. I see you've already acquainted yourself with the guillotine, obviously feel free to use it whenever you please. Even 2 days into the job; no point stuffing around with these things.
Tbh ant, democracy is a failed concept when the constituency don't vote. Something like this requires avenues of input from the members which we have, and someone to act decisively, which we have, to expect that 18 people will be made happy by any vote outcome as opposed to a dictatorial outcome is fanciful.

Quote from Bandit on September 12, 2012, 12:52 However, in this case there has been a majority vote...
Agreed, and the vote carried. To explain my answer further ant, that wont always be the case and a US style, non compulsory voting system that allows people that didn't vote to whine at the outcome regardless of participation level is just as invalid as any other non-absolute system.. Compulsory voting (absolute) would be unworkable here and the only valid option is an elected leader, which we now have. I believe the key to making it work, like it or lump it is having some entity/body/person in charge who isn't afraid to make calls, in the knowledge that occasionally some will be wrong or not palatable for all concerned. No calls were made without a request for input etc and I think it was a low blow to nail Terry for being prepared to grab the bull by the horns. Anyway, I am going back to plotting trades and am comfortable that the great majority of us are keen to make this work and it's in good hands. /2c
