Not an issue for me, but I had a call from Eddie.
TiB, you can tell Eddie that the second named team on each line is the home team. @ = at
Eddie is not welcome anywhere near an ORFFA match. Tony Shaw can f&%^ off as well, while we're about it.
another vfk and afl tradition blown away. First team named has always been, and should always be, the home team.

The main draw is in the traditional format. This 1st round was thrown together in a rushed manner. We hope it doesn't cause any confusion. Does everyone understand if they are the home team or away team. We would hate there to be a no show during the much anticipated first round.

Regards, The FIXture Committee ORFFA headquarters
This is an open letter to the 18 league members of the ORFFA. After much deliberation (and with greasy palms), your FIXture Committee have decided to make a late change to the round 1 FIXture. Not long after receiving notification of a dispute from the Manager of Waikickamoocow, we received a phone call from the Hon Murray McCully - who is the New Zealand Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Sport and Recreation - attempting to reach some sort of resolution that would, not only appease the thousands of angry rioting kiwis protesting the inequity of the round 1 fixture, but also give the country the exposure they hoped they would get from having a round 1 match on home soil. We also received this video from an Anon Kiwi collective: [embed]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-w_AZ7K2P4[/embed] It was accompanied by a statement that we did not take too seriously as they thought Sydney was the capital of Australia and thought they would get maximum exposure there. We did not even bother to tell them that they dont give a stuff about the ORFFA in Sydney. Anyway, after long negotiations with the Hon Murray McCully, Mr Mike Todd (The General Manager of Marketing and Communications for Air New Zealand), Frances Evans (Live Saving Victoria Coordinator) and your FIXture Committee members - Jolcon and anthak - we have been able to come to an agreement. We are making an amendment to the round 1 FIXture. The game between the Venus Bay Vultures (Fitzy) and the Waikikamoocow Incorrigibles (chels) will now be held at the secret location of the Waikikamoocow home ground. The game will remain at 7:30pm AEST on Sunday 13th May for media reasons. There were many logistical arrangements made as part of the agreement: On Saturday morning, Life Saving Victoria will be transporting the full squad of 26 players and all support staff (including Fitzy and the chearleaders) by helicopter to the Phillip Island Aviation Centre. For logistical research we hired actors to model how it may go on Saturday. Here you can see how the traveling party may look while waiting at Phillip Island Aviation Centre: Air New Zealand will send one of their 2 B747-400s (their oldest jet) to Phillip Island Aviation Centre to pick up the Vulture party, including up to 233 (the amount of Economy seats) fans that make it to Phillip Island in time, and fly them over to the Masterton/Hood Aerodrome Airport in New Zealand. The group, which is anticipated to be nearly 300 people all up, will be provided with a camping site to stay in Masterton on Saturday night: We are now awaiting the Waikickamoocow Administration to send an email with details of the NZR bus timetable and instructions on how to get to the ground from Masterton. We do know that everyone will be blindfolded for the last 20 minutes of that trip. The FIXture Committee of the ORFFA would like to take this opportunity to apologise whole heartedly for the inconvenience this oversight has caused, and we will be adjusting the complete FIXture to incorporate the home team being the first named team in every instance, to avoid this type of uproar in the future. This game will be broadcast live into every State and Territory of Australia - except for QLD, where it will immediately follow the much anticipated derby between the Birdsville Battlers (Jolcon) and Whitsunday Warriors (TerryinBangkok) in Hook Island. Despite this minor hiccup, we do look forward to a great first round this weekend. We hope everyone involved enjoys their weekend.
So that you all get a bit more of an idea of what we were up against, here are some pics of the angry rioters in New Zealand. As you can see, we really had no choice but to do what we could to stop these animals! the Waikik Selection Committee thank the FIXture committee for correcting their scheduling error. However, we would like to point out some errors in their narrative. First, the clothes of police and actors confirm the scenes are from NY. They are in fact protests against sNoZ's strategy of nuking anybody or thing that stands in his way. A typical protest in Ekatahuna looks more like the picture below. Second, we recommend use of Palmerston North airport. TiB found this facility very accomodating on a recent trip. A quick call and AirNZ have agreed to send an Airbus A320 painted in Waikik colours. Departure from Brisbane airport will be at a time Fitzy chooses - perhaps after his Friday afternoon footy game? Third, you are negotiating with the wrong people. McCully has a record of being "dazed and confused" as a result, perhaps, of playing for the parliamentary rugby team. A fleet of Road Services buses will be ready to leave whenever the opposition arrive. There are no schedules in Waikik. To help the visitors identify the transport a picture is attached.
As to the scurrilous comments about considering Sydney important, I give you these words from Paul Kelly - an honourary Waikik man and the club's bard - to make our position unequivocal: "I want to see the sun go down from St Kilda Esplanade Where the beach needs reconstruction, where the palm trees have it hard I'd give you all of Sydney Harbour (all that land, all that water) For that one sweet promenade" Please note Paul Kelly ("Kells") the former South Melbourne Swans legend is also a Waikik man.

I am sorry that a member of the waikickamoocow office could not be in attendance at the meeting. I can assure you that the FIXture Committee have reported back the outcome as factually as possible. During negotiations, the option of flying a few AirBuses over was raised; however it was not up to our desired standard, as there would not be enough room for 200odd fans to travel as well. However, we must take on your recommendation of Palmerston Airport seriously. We will make some calls to see if the arrangements can be changed. Thank you for your response Chels. On another matter, how will the Waikiki Grounds Staff go, preparing the playing surface for Sunday night?
Many thanks for your favourable response. I have put your query ("On another matter, how will the Waikiki Grounds Staff go, preparing the playing surface for Sunday night?") to the ground's superintendent and his full response was, and I quote, "expertly." I append a snap of the ground taken at 7.31pm during a recent minor club fixture for your inspection.
Just duplicating a question here - Just a very quick question - does the ORFFA have a trade thread? Because trades are open unitl the start of this round aren't they? I ask because andy and I discussed a trade through the draft period and we want to go through with it - so how do we do so?
Hi all After many hours of hard work, the highly trained chimps - aka the ORFFA FIXture Committee - have completed the 2012 ORRFA FIXture. We have attempted to keep it as fair as possible, but with 17 rounds all teams cannot play the same amount of home games. Therefore, half of the teams will play 9 home games and 8 away while the other half will play 8 home games and 9 away. We have also arranged it so that no one plays any more than 2 games in a row at home or away. You will also notice that some of the rounds below have ‘themes’. The highly trained chimps will endeavour to provide our mighty and powerful overlord….sorry….the Commish, with brief explanations of these themes to include in weekly previews (should such a thing be occurring). Please also note that the list of themes is only a starting point and more of these are likely to be added as the season progresses. If you have suggestions, please post them in the thread for consideration. Teams may also nominate any special trophies they might wish to play for in specific matches, or even name their clashes should they choose. For example, the Chief & I might name our annual clash as the ‘Seaby Stoush’ or something similar. So I’ve probably rambled on long enough. The fixture is below. X, if you’re agreeable, we might get a new ‘Sticky’ going and I’ll put the fixture there as well? That way people don’t have to scroll through this thread to find it. Cheers Your ORFFA FIXture Committee (Anth & J)

Quote from Bandit on May 10, 2012, 10:28 The Spelunkers welcome the trip across the Apple Isle to face our Island brethren. In what should be a game that will be immortalised in history, the battle between Kreuzer and Jamar will be key in determining which side will dominate the midfield. The Spelunkers hope that the field has been salted before the game to melt the ice and are looking forward to a keg or two of Boags after the game with the opposition... win, lose or draw. The only stipulation we request is that Heath Shaw not be allowed to drive himself from the stadium after the game
There will be no shortage of James Boags and hot food available for consumption by both clubs at the end of the All-Tassie clash between the Devils and the Spelunkers. With just under half an hour to the start it is a cool 0.0c at Cadle Mountain Oval, with the expected maximum temeperature during the game only 1.0c. Snow has been cleared off the ground for the start of the match, however this might not be the case by the end of the game as it is cloudy with the forecast for scattered snow showers. Looking forward to a hard fought contest in the Battle of Tasmania between Cradle Mountain and Charlie's Opening.
