Lilacs have gone big on DPP - interesting to see how it pans out (I have none), but will surely help if injuries hit.

Apparently close to BOG today. Couple of ORFFA undrafted types definitely putting their hands up for consideration with late draft picks in the Richmond/Essendon game too.

I hope you're right. He's pretty much the only ruckman the Nuffers have. Thanks to the Lilacs....GRRRRR!

Reckon you'll be right Andy - young Shaun has been among the best most of the pre-season. He'll be very good this year.

Nice work young Lenny. I frequently snuck out of History class and Maths class and Biology class and ....... The Nuffers recruiting team have been in heavy and quite heated discussions over their final selection of this draft. Looking at 3 talented but as yet still to be proven young forwards. Much arm waving and loud whispering going on. The cameras have gone to interviewing parents of the top 10 picks while the real drama goes on in the background. A file has just been thrown across the table in frustration. Crossed arms and cats bum face shows that one of the recruiters has lost his case. Andy steps up to the microphone and announces...Pick #77 for the Nuffers...Welcome back to Melbourne young Jordan Lisle BL Fwd. This concludes the official business for the Nuffers. Let's get a drink....

Chris is not around at the moment he is aware that it is his pick, as I told him. He should be on line in about an hour or so.

Hey everyone - sorry about the hold up - Friday deadlines, son's basketball and hair cut. I need to just check a couple of things (a couple of my guys might've been injured today in praccy games so I need to double check). Be with you soon.

Meanwhile Tom Lynch from Adelaide looks like he's busted his arm. Much and all as I think Chris Newman is way too good a player to leave on the FA list (and boy am I tempted to pick him up) ... I'm not going to. However I do have to keep up my Richmond quota at Darraweit Guim, so we are going to draft in a young forward from South Australia by the name of Matty 'Madonna' McDonough. Reckon he might play a few games this year across half back and/or half forward. Pick 70-something or other - Matty McDonough, Richmond, Forward

If he hadn't been picked up before my pick just gone he would've been in Darraweit. Elite level talent. Application has been a concern, but working with Mark Williams over the summer seems to have engendered a little bit of, dare I say it, mongrel into him.

McDonough will be good player Chris I would've selected him myself if he wasn't a forward. pick 80 for mount beauty on a one year contract will be Chris Newman, if he can average 70 and play 20 games I'll be happy.

Ah, that makes me happy. I hope he has a wonderful year in Mt Beauty. He'll play mid-forward this year, get 15-20 touches and kick a goal a week. Not bad for an old bloke.

Nice article in the HS ant.. The 5 choices at the end were interesting, were they yours or edited? If yours would you have delisted a 5th to get Georgiou? I particularly liked him myself and was hoping he'd last until 92, clearly a fantasy game of itself :p
