Thanks Len, from before Christmas I ideally wanted a key forward withmy first pick at thePSD, in my opinion Boyd and Hogan are clearly the best two available in this draft pool so I was going tobe ecstatic to get either of these two playerswith pick seven.

Bet you didn't expect them to slip that far though! Well I didn't anyway!

Bet you didn't expect them to slip that far though! Well I didn't anyway! You are right Fitzy, I didn't expect Boyd or Hogan to be available at seven, hence the consideration given to upgrading my firstpick to a top four pick by trading or downgrading later picks in orderto increase the chances of getting either Boydor Hogan.I am certainlyglad I didn't go down that path now. By the way TomBoyd is the first player to be selected with an ORFFA Pre-seasondraft pick 7 as there wasn't a pick 7 last year.
I'm astonished Boyd fell to pick 7. I'd tried so hard to trade pick 7, but couldn't manage it. I never considered Boyd would still be around. Dean, you must be glad you stood firm on keeping it
More impressed with the Warriors choice at Pick 6. An extremely savvy selection - one I admit I had as a consideration at pick 20-something. Nicely done.
No need to contemplate the loss of Mitch Grigg Chris, if he were still available he was crossing the Tasman at pick 17. The surpise to me was that a Port man would opt for a Crow.

Raptor is up next I take it. It's prob a bit premature to work this out, but he has until midday tomorrow Melbs time yeah?

Would be extremely harsh to skip someones pick in the first round... :/ He still has plenty of time though

Technically yep, we have 93 picks to take in 9 days, pretty much a shoe in for this league, Raptor is a pretty focused guy, am sure he will pick in time..

Still just under 14 hours to go so heaps of time as Fitzy said.
Thanks guys. Ive got the next pick. I should be right if Raptor picks tonight, but if he picks tomorrow morn, I may not be so quick to follow. If it gets to the 18hr deadline, it'll be 8:57am my time, so I'll make sure I'm up and ready to pick by then at the latest

Yes Chels, I didn't have high hopes the gent in question would last till pick 20-something, to be honest. I've got about 6 back-up plans but I'm not sure which one might yet come into play - it is a liberating feeling now knowing that I have no clue who I am actually going to get with my first pick in the draft!! But what I am impressed with is the attitude of - 'well, here's the unfashionable pick but it is a player I want, so bugger it, I'll use pick 6.' I like that.

What's wrong with writing 'first' - its even shorter I didn't capitalise it, you did, as an athiest I don't care what it's called, but when I was growing up, educated, and workforce indoctrinated, it was always christian name & surname, when you get to be old you can have habits that are hard to break too... If you list their first name and all the old buggers like me list their christian name pretty sure we will get the same result, and no-one will have had to go PC to get there

Unfashionable enough that I rang Thailand to check before I posted it, that was the cause of the delay between 5 and 6 FWIW I would have taken him at 16 too.

My daughter is technically Jewish, and it kinda bugs me when someone asks me what her christian name is. A Christian name is technically a given/first name formally given to Christians at their christening or baptism. Anyways, no big deal really...

Chris, my selection of Boyd at seven was about as straighforward as it gets unlike Terry's choice of Mitch Grigg at six. There were plenty of high quality young mids available and whilst most if not all coaches would have expectedMitch Grigg to go in the top 20 or sopicks I don't know ifanyone besides Terry had M Grigg in the top six so that would have been a far more difficult decision to make.A year ago Brodie Grundy went at five, higher than most of us expected and that selection paidoff. It is great to see people follow their instinct and this selectionmight end up like the Grundy one. In Round 1 it could be a case of Grigg vs Grigg with Whitsunday's Mitch against Cradle Mountain's Shaun.

Presumption of any kind is pretty standard but often annoying when wrong.. I'll make sure I secularise it in the next one
