I am against inserting a blank to bring in an E player who scored well. At the same time I put the E on Ben Griffiths, a defender, last night. He scored 76, which probably means he will stay as my emergency - I think / hope McVeigh, Hibberd, Taylor and Duffield will all score more than 76. But what if he had scored 100? I think I would want him on the field and I could make that happen by naming Darcy Gardiner knowing full well he has not been named this week because he is injured. Am I a hypocrite for being against inserting a blank but being prepared to exploit a loophole by using a player who will not play - was not even selected. I am a simple person, I can only reason this through by using an example of my own experience rather than thinking through other ORFFA members' expositions. Can I suggest we all (i) think through how we would personally approach a similar situation; and (ii) how we would feel if our opponent chose one of the two options in the Griffiths example? Can you defend your view(s) if it were suggested your position was inconsistent? [P.S. - It was a lot easier to leave Mitch Robinson as E after he racked up 62.]
