    Hi TiB/Hornsy et al,
I have flagged, through Walesy, my interest in taking up an ORFFL/A franchise.
He mentioned there might be some thoughts of expansion and to stay posted.

Any insight as to how one can get involved?
    Is there a waiting list?

    Thanks

That's more like it Mr. Horn. So we have:

    d) Penguins don't make the 8, Quolls do, no probs.
    e) Quolls make the 8, Penguins don't, no probs.
    f) Both make the 8, Penguins drop out and next highest on ORFFA ladder takes their place. Should be no probs.

Got an 'A' in botany, but an explanation of how seeding works would help.
Presumably all teams competing in CL continue competing in their own league as usual.
Same players in both teams. No worries. Happens in SC.
What, pray tell, is the prize for the Hornsy Brothers taking out the Championship League. Hmmmmm?

Now, BB made an offer to nurse the Penguins. He did not make an offer to nurse Dijit whatever. I appreciate Fitzy's innocuous suggestion his mate gets the No. 8th ranked team instead of the No. 18th. Fitzy is a scrapper. I admire that. Doesn't mean it will happen though.

At the risk of repeating myself. I will contact Big Lance directly once I know the views of the majority. Not before. Working nights is hardly an excuse when you consider the time zone difference SnoZ has to operate under.

    Hey Gravenger,

Yeah, the chief said there were a few. Basically, there's a waiting list for the ORFFL, but would appear that everyone has signed on for another year. If you would like to take up an existing ORFFA franchise, ask these guys.

If you want to start from scratch (ie. draft ye own players etc.), err, I'm going to have to put you on hold for a moment. Seeing the chief tomorrow, have a firmer answer then.

    Cheers,
    H.

    It's ugly and unnecessary.

I cbf doing the whole draw now, but as a general principle 1st is in a group with 8th, 12th and 16th (positions worked out on a combination of ladder position and Total Points scored e.g. If the ORFFA team that is in 8th spot at the midseason break has scored more points than the ORFFL team in 8th spot they will be ranked 15th in the seeding.)

Welcome gravenger. We are in the midst of some decisions regarding the composition of our 18 teams for next year. Once a decision is at hand, there is a chance there will be a vacancy in ORFFA for you. In the meantime please 'friend' me and I can keep you posted.

If you hired an 18th coach without a team in the ORFFL, the ugliness you propose wouldn't be necessary. Like Gravenger above.

See the logic. But beg to differ. We were on the verge of a precedent and the situation that led to it will likely occur again in the years to come. So rather than just take a convenient solution, I would prefer a categorical statement from ORFFL that you have no objection to what BB was proposing (because there were some positives to be had from the idea), or that you do object to someone holding two franchises albeit in different leagues. Just as people use a pseudonym to set up different SC teams, you can expect this to happen in an ORFF of the future. There were some doubts, now hopefully cast aside, about P'raps nomination.

Y'see while you sit on your throne, we are the ones who have to tell BB, thanks, but no thanks. If you wish to choose words like unnecessary and ugliness, then, yes, I can see having to turn BB away after we accepted his offer being ugly, especially since he reached out to us. Then there is always the unnecessary ugliness that you cannot see behind the scenes. This sometimes leaves things in quite delicate balance. Easily tipped.

Hey guys, i'm Fitzy's mate and would love to take over a team in ORRFA. I've been having a look at ORRFA/ORRFL throughout the year and it looks like great fun. :)

I am taking all these hidden camera jokes as votes of support for Fitzy's mate to take over the Penguins?
(Given that we have a proposal for a permanent owner with BB no longer required to nurse).

    Going, going....................

Is BB cool with "management" of the Big Lance franchise if it were to pan out that way TiB?

Just trying to dot the i's and cross the t's.

Unlikely chels. We have Gravenger in the box seat for the Big Lance franchise. Given that Fitzy's mate was first to knock, he gets the slightly tastier Penguins.

BB, helpful as always, offered a temporary solution to keep us going. However, given the news on the Champions League on the previous pages which I hope you have perused, best if there is no conflict between the Quolls and the Penguins.

I'll give it until Friday to receive any objections, then the hammer goes down.

I have sent a PM to Big Lance and he has until Friday to respond. Then we will take it from there, after dotting the t's and crossing the eyes.

  19. Ugly and unnecessary?

I haven't been this offended since, well, probably lunch time.

My primary focus is the Quolls and the ORFFL, however I would also like to see others on TS have the same opportunities that I have had in this regard.

I don't actually want to run an ORFFA franchise as well, in all honesty, but I am happy to assist if needed.

If you guys have coaches lined up for the positions now, then all the better, and I can concentrate on pre-season training, and finding out where the hell Swannie got to after Mad Monday

thanks for the clarification BB and TiB.

Have seen the Champions League stuff TiB. With CFC (Chelsea Football Club) champions of Europe in the round ball code, I am familiar and supportive of the concept,

I may have to revise my view of Carlton supporters BB - you keep coming across as a reasonable, helpful person.
