Despite his injury concerns, I actually had Jimmy Toumpas in my top 5 - so it's fair to say I'm rapt to snare him at 9!

If he had have gone to Bama the pick before, believe it or not but I was actually undecided on who I'd pick next - even with about 27 hours to narrow my options to two.

Toumpas was a clear fave for me, but I couldn't split Viney and Vlastuin if toumpas was picked before me. I had pretty much settled for Viney, but I wasn't sure at all.

A big reason why I liked Vlastuin so much was because, this afternoon when I grabbed my prospectus to have a read up on the two players in question, I opened it up and unintentionally opened it onto the page that had Vlastuin's profile! Thought it must have been an omen; especially considering I was finding it hard to split them.

I think we might be done for the day. As mentioned in a previous post TS is blocked at work for me, so might not get on till about at least 5pm AEST tomorrow. Still well within the 18 hour limit, but apologies in advance that I might be the one to slow it down a touch tomorrow. Goodnight all!

no worries at all Chief, snoz is up next and he runs in his owntime zone. Not a bad effort today given the drama. Top summary post has been updated, Nite all

good work Chris running the smokescreen of 'wow, 4 of the top 6 still available' and much earlier 'I wonder when a non-rookie will be taken?' Bloody clever and effective.
I guess that is the end of the surprises then and we are back to draft pick sequence.

I really have no idea who to pick...........O'Rourke was set to be mine until that last draft selection, so....... Based on potential, but maybe not till next year & that leg gets stronger ~ Gundagai cant pass up Jake Stringer with pick #15 (ps......any thoughts on this pick would be appreciated oh knowledgable ones)

He's your player sNoZ, why would we know anything about him??
Seriously, I think you summed it up - one for the future. And yes I would be interested to know what the clued in members think about him.
Chris might be intrigued to know another one of the top 6 draft picks has gone.

I'm not particularly clued in - I just talk a lot sh#t really and hope no one notices.
As I mentioned earlier I considered him at 12 as decent young forwards seem a bit rare at he moment. It was just the degree of uncertainty about his leg that stopped me spending my first pick on him. [span style='line-height: 1.3;]Anything you read say he finds a stack of the footy and kicks it a mile. Early on he'll probably be a mobile 3rd tall forward. So it's just whether his leg limits him at all, but he' should have plenty of upside if it holds up.

has Fitzy offered to trade him for a delisted player yet sNoZ? That is the first indicator that he was good pick!

Seriously he isn't to bad, say my backman get injured, instead of having a mid who may get 80ish in the backline and his score getting halved to 40, I get Dawson scoring 50-60...

Okay enough about that bunny Zac Dawson.
Onto the draft. My next pick is a high risk high reward selection, I thought based on talent alone this guy was a top 3 even a top 2 pick in last years draft. He does have injury concerns and also a family history of knee problems. I was hoping the Tigers took a punt on this kid in the draft as I think he might be 'SPECIAL', without further to do the Mount Beauty Uglies select

Pick 16 Carlton FC Troy Menzel

Bit of activity last night, great to see! I'm watching this thread with a lot of interest... my list is whittling down, but not as fast as I thought it would... only 15 picks away and I still have a raft of players I would be happy with

Nice pick Bama.....my choice came down to stringer vs menzel.....playing for the hated CFC was the only deciding factor

Snoz - reckon Stringer's going to be all right. He' a slightly higher risk than the other forwards, but reckon he's going to be a good one. Probably really start to see a bit out of him next year ... and he has the chance to become a M/F in the future perhaps as well. Menzel's an interesting one too. His brother is a wonderful player cut down by injuries, I hope both of them have decent careers in the AFL.
