where is the staying power? - turned down an invitation to share some freshly cooked silverside and a lot of red wine to keep the wagons rolling tonight. Would ne nice to be up to sNoZ's pick so when the big appler arrives he can 'perform'
Sorry guys- unavoidably delayed. Similar to CR earlier, depth that should play more often than not. Pick 32 - Shannon Byrnes

Since it looks like it won't make it to Far Kew's next pick I'm off for the night. I'll check back in in the morning

Snoz is up next and I don't think it's 6am there yet so prob a slowish evening ahead
Now we have a bit of a pause as the sun rises over Manhattan Island, I will insert this small morsel of thought. During NAB R1, walesy had a chat going on the main page. Representing ORFFA were myself and Jolcon. Representing ORFFL were just about everybody else and they dominated the chat. I am surprised, a bit, that we did not have greater representation as some pretty experienced heads were giving running views on how some of the new kids were going. Grist for the mill for a coach in the middle of a draft. Kane Mitchell got some wraps and, until that time, I had not even considered him. Little good it did me, but you know what I mean. While those ORFFL guys do ramble on a bit, you also get some insights into how deep they are into this shit and who carries the various cans that keep their league ticking over. Might be worth dropping in from time to time since we don't have a dedicated chat of our own. TS is where you learn stuff.
On the scale of 1 to very serious about their league, the ORFFL guys are deadly serious. Agree TiB - a fine learning resource there. One wonders if our draft may be used that same way for them.I've sent you a message in reply by the way - hope you receive it.
gravenger wrote:Lefties Pick #31 - Dan Nicholson - Demons A fine pick that one. A very good consistent player last year up back and a quiet achiever. Almost took him last year in the mid year draft, and when the time came around this year, I had enough defenders already.Hope he does well for his new club.

The chat can be quite enlightening and you can pick up a few choice pieces of info from those in the know. Some of our friends in the ORFFL, and others who aren't (in the ORFFL that is), are pretty forthcoming with info and relevant stats. It invariably gets off topic, but that's where much of the fun comes from as well.
@Chris - thanks for the reassurance, definately needed another Def, but as with many, didn't see value in drafting tall rookie Defs with early picks. The Lefties new sports science and conditioning coach Prof. RJ Gumby (yes we had to let Danky go) was pretty hot for him, so was hard to pass him up. Defensive mastermind - Solomon Grundy, has offered to take the new boy under his wing and usher him through the rites-of-passage for all new recruits..... a 3-day pig hunting sojourn through the wilds of the Ravine des Casoars with nothing but a rambo-knife, a pouch of peyote and your wits. A ritual where boys become men or come back as wall trophies.
Remind me not to get on the wrong side of your defensive mastermind - Mr Grundy. If memory serves, he's a rather large type who belted the living suitcase out of me when I was playing Batman on the Xbox a little while back.

Publishers obviously get to sleep in. See you in the morning folks - more likely your afternoon. In fact, knowing what Bandit is going to do to me, I may spend the day in the garden.
Got to work, read three pages of TS shenanigans.....sorry to hold up anyone, its only 9am here, still sleepy....... Pick #33 ~ Brett Goodes, my 2nd Doggies pick.....wtf??!!
