chris88 wrote: Quick question - are we running a split lockout this week due to the Monday game? Teams aren't going to be announced for that one in the normal timeframes .... what's the go? Obviously I ask due to the Richmond players mooted to be playing this week who are in my team. But others obviously have both WCE and Tiger players in their squads. No is the best and quickest answer I can give. Unless of course there is a howl of protest from 17 other coaches. Then I would probably have to ring Eddie.

Thanks TiB - that's what I suspected. Personally - I've got 5 RFC players but have cover in the form of emergencies for them, so we should be OK. More just wanting some clarity than anything!

Jimbo - unless the Battlers form improves dramatically, you should win comfortably this week mate.
It seems a number of Battlers are already looking forward to the mid-season break.

Powlett Plains currently running all over Wagga Wagga, looking like a mauling. Most Wombat fans have already left the ground.

I have Foul Bay up 649 to 611, both teams with 8 played, but I don't have much depth to come, no champagne this week

Desperately wanting Pav back in the team - getting a bit sick of choosing between Adams and Dahlhaus every week...always pick the wrong one. Well, I pulled the right rein out of Adams and Dahlhaus finally this week. Buggered up the backline selection again with Yarran's 115 being wasted. And Mumford...glad the big sausage eater pulled his finger out of his you-know-where. Have wanted to be able to play him in the ruck all year but he hasn't shown he could be better than the Candian legend. Maybe the specter of Tippett looming forced him into playing decently again (I think he might find himself out of the Swans side otherwise).
In any case I will take the narrow win, will hopefully get Pav back after the mid-season break and maybe, just maybe I can sort out these team selection issues and we can play our best football in the second half of the year. At present, there isn't a lot of challenge being posed to Iron Knob (must be nice to not have to think about team selection and just trot out the same team each weeek and collect the 1450+ scores haha)

1054 with LeCras, Josh Hill and Jackson to go... a 178 from Petrie being the high point, the low point being Reid, Hooker, Montagna, Giles, Jenkins and Picken all scoring under 70... The Guim have a load of players in the game tonight... could be a late rally from them to snatch it from my hands

Hey Bandit - yeah I make it that I'm down about 210 with two extra to play tonight. I'm not sure - I reckon you only need average performances from the three you have and it should be enough. Petrie was wonderful y'day, and your midfield has served you well. Mackie was really good as well. You have the Frenchman, Josh Hill and Dan Jackson vs Rance, Foley, Mullet, Shed Edwards and Ty Vickery. Don't quite think I have the personnel. That said - really happy with how most of my mob have played this week - midfield stepped it up hugely in the absence of Matty Boyd - NDS, Boomer and Cunnington all clocking up 100+. Walker returned to form, the kids played well - Hill, crowd favourite Rory Thompson and Cannon Foot McKenzie (and Tomlinson/Newnes on the bench). Justified my decision to keep Nathan Van Berlo out of the team this week. Would've loved to have had Boyd, Betts and Walters playing to make it even more interesting. But the kids are playing well, Stringer and Dom Tyson are close to senior selection ... the team is sort of going through a rejuvination-by-force ... something that will be furthered during the trade period upcoming. I like the challenge of bringing through kids and turning over the list with limited high draft picks. It is fun, involves some concentration and some good planning. Looking forward to the trade period, and have enjoyed the pre-trade questions (no draft tampering of course!) with a few of you.

Oh, and just as a further point of interest - The Lilacs have enjoyed perhaps their best week of sustained consistent scoring for the whole year. I'd almost have backed them in for a win except for the fact they are three players short this week. Its a real pity because with Brennan, Lucas, Chapman, Grimes, Wellingham and/or Whitecross fit, they'd be really up and about. I believe there might be a certain coach who is very much looking forward to the trade and draft period!

Might like to include a comparison on how we are tracking with Chief Russell's odds given at the start of the year and a mention of the luck that has befallen the Grasshoppers so far (just suggestions). Anthak can assist with getting it up on the home page.

By my adding up I have lost by 6 points. Thanks a lot Josh Hill for that junk goal on the siren - cost me a win. Edwards going off just after half time probably didn't help either. Either one of those things doesn't happen, I would've snuck home. What a shit. Congrats Bandit - bravo and happy that Dan Jackson is doing the job for you. Off to have a cup of tea and sing the RFC theme song to myself.
