Quote from chels on April 26, 2012, 16:47 @ Lenh191, does the song refer to the lost, lamented and much loved bar in the basement of the old Hilton in Sydney? A nice change when the b/s in the Americas' Cup bar got a little deep.
Not recognisably no, the Misfits base is more akin to the Public Bar at the Ettamogah in both decor and clientele
Pay that one H. - very good on the rebound. Mr. ORFFA Commissioner, Sounds like we need a DRAFT and a FIXTURE. Happy for you to do with whatever random system you see fit. Seems we are halfway to a Draft with the numbers above. That gives us 4 players each - I'm missing something? Is the Draft based on whatever players are left available in the pool (being the AFL pool), so if, e.g., Crameri is still there at pick 15, I can snap him up? In other words, it is very similar to the real AFL draft and you better do your homework? Sent you a 'friend' so you can (a) pay me on time and (b) let me know when you are taking the satellite out for a spin.

26 rnds = 26 players each Terry. I was merely illustrating for the slower kids. I did the first 4 rounds of numerical sequences so you guys can make your own (which I suggest). Every player can only be drafted ONCE. yes you can draft Spuderi at 15 if that should be your whim, but then you may miss out on Richard Tambling. (On SKT's List in ORFFL) Remember also with the draft that you are going to need certain pool of players from backs fwds etc so with the draft try to alternate your picks between positions a bit or you may end up with all mids. Players played out of position only score 1/2 points so choose wisely. (Just like Indy at the end the Last Crusade) Really, I expect better from a highly paid fantasy sports administration professional such as yourself.
thanks Lenh 191, sounds much more attuned to my new lifestyle as a public bar person. Early Cold Chisel had a fine song entitled "Misfits" which may be useful if you are into free association of music!

But sometimes I play devil's avocado by asking the questions that the slower kids should be asking and since you are the straight man, I have to keep tossing you lines so you can come in. Speaking of which, as a new franchise, don't I get Sheedy-type priority picks? I am willing to offer Relton's dad a lucrative deal selling popcorn at our home games.
Better to be the straight man, rather than the snoz man. Lots of snozzing in the Whitsundays from what I hear. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I mean, people want to know what they're getting in their lobster pie. .
Ok. Gentlemen - I propose that the draft goes live tonight at 24:00. You have 24 hours to make your pick after the previous pick, but seriously, keep an eye on things and try to make it much quicker than that. Should you not do so, the next highest average player (from 2011 scores)will be force drafted to you. It will take a natural disaster to bend this rule so be advised. Cradle Mountain, you are first cab off the rank. The sooner the drafting is done the sooner we start playing. Where would a suitable place be if anyone can think of a suggestion? I don't want it to be editable like a forum.
perhaps make it live now X? Irrespective the selection committee of the Waikikamoocow franchise are meeting over a few quiet reds in the Ekatahuna Club (Herbert Street, Eketahuna) to take advantage of the Wednesday night bar meals priced from $7.50 - but sadly lobster pies not available. Guests should consider the fine pinot noirs from nearby Martinborough.
Just wanted to post through my team name. From henceforth, my team shall be known as the Foul Bay Chickens.
Can't see how it matters but the list is one number out after pick 16, there being no pick 288 is the cause so the ranking stays correct regardless
Things have moved along very quickly today with the ORFFA. Great to see that we have already got a full league. I am not sure where the ORFFA teams should make their draft selections. To enable the draft to start once this is decided the Cradle Mountain Devils will select Scott Pendlebury with the first pick in the 2012 ORFFA Draft.
Interesting read so far! Definitely needs a sub-forum but I don't even think the original Commie's scepter has powers to do that. Maybe if people are doing Team threads now they can prefix them with [ORFFA] or [ORFFL] to distinguish them in the mean time? I'd advise having the drat in a different thread though, so you don't get this one cluttered. Our draft took 3-4 weeks (a way to fill in time during the off-season) and that was with the first 5 rounds in a "Live" setting. It's also advisable to be able to be contacted by at least one person by email/twitter/text so that if it is your turn, you can be notified. Other than that, the Pyrite board wishes to acknowledge that should its mines dry out and there is no gold (no gold, ha ha...oh we're funny some times - amirite?) then it would never stand in the way of another Franchise taking its place. However it wishes to convey it sincere apprehension and distaste at any promotion/relegation system.
Correct - there is no 288. Well spotted. Every pick after 287 +1 it. Consider it live now - I will make a special thread in a lamb's shake.
