With Boomer only managing a paltry 80 as my only representative last night, combined with the out of another regular ton player in Adams, it's looking like an even tougher ask for the Pointers. Our only hope is for some late Chumps outs (preferably a few of his guns) Big thanks to @choppers for the heads up on Adams out
@Bearfly I don't think the White Pointers have much to concern themselves with, as my 5 who played last night only averaged 70....
That may be the case mate, but I still have several players to come who are struggling to average even that!!! Need some surprise big games from a few of my mob to be a realistic chance!!!
Hey thanks for the update. I think its great how people are posting updates. Its really interesting to read as we go. Still a long way to go @leematty1 ... im not confident.
@Len - Jan juc may have picked the wrong week to take on your boys with 11 giants on 51 or better at HT
Definitely happy with big Jesse's massive score trying to haul his team across the line (just didn't have enough mates helping him). Also happy with Laird's effort and currently liking Toby Greene's half time score. But very disappointed in Jenkins, should've easily dominated against a hapless Freo minus MJ - and am far from impressed with Duryea and especially Jordan Lewis - what a fall from grace for a player who regularly pumped out solid 110-130's and can barely muster a third of that this season!!! Could be close still mate
I think I might be on the way to a good score, not that that means a result as we know, 9/955 but it would be a lot better if I hadn't drafted any dockers
In a close game at The Chinchilla Showgrounds, the visiting White Pointers from Wedge Island (13/1105) lead the home team 10/791 by 314 pts. With only Andrews and Greenwood left to play for the Sharks, can they hold off Grundy, JPK, Naitanui, Kerridge, and Zorko for Chinchilla who will be coming home fast with the wind at their back and the vocal local yokels shouting encouragement from all the bars located in the neighbouring woodchop pavilion..
After Saturdays play I have the scores as follows Fugitives 11/848 with Rampe, Jack, McGlynn and Pendles to come Black Swamp 11/1005 with Mayes, McVeigh, Sinclair and James Kelly still to play
As we hit the break it's Mole Creek 9/591 leading Useless Loop 6/311. It looks as if Mole Creek's battlers will have a difficult time holding off the classy operators left for the Loop, especially if glow worms captain P.Cripps cannot take the field as per the rumour mill.
Pointers no threat to the Chumps now, can't see either of my players going big enough to create an adequete buffer!!! Just not enough decent scores from the big name players to mount a serious challenge - my only hope is for all of JPK, NicNat and Zorks to succumb to some form of pre-game injury issue or illness (time to get the voodoo dolls out)!!!
Enterering the last I have (unofficial) scores as Fugitives 14/1102 plus Pendles on 15 needing to score 130 plus whatever Kelly manages in the last quarter 29ers 14/1172 plus JamesKelly on 59 looking for a big last quarter
44 between them in the last quarter and from scaling and you set the all time ORFFF record their mate, 1500 is also a fair chance !
Black Swamp have held on for a crucial 42 point victory over Rutherglen (@tyze1, 1246-1204) as the Fugitives left their run late and couldn't manage to reel in the visitors in time. Fourth placed Black Swamp is now 4-2 and faces fifth placed Dingo Beach (also 4-2) away in Round 7, while 10th placed Rutherglen is now 2-4 and facing a pivotal clash against the 8th placed Cockburn Avengers (who also possess a 2-4 record in 2016) next week.
