Sounds like we are getting compression from round 9 so need to make a call here. Have reached out to board with above comments in mind. Will advise of decision soon.
Ok, our hand is effectively forced. Only a one day break between rounds 8 & 9. Then 33 matches over 19 days! The FFF MSD trade period will commence tomorrow 16/7/20 at 9am AEST and conclude 20/7/20 at 9pm AEST. Traded players are not to change hands until the conclusion of round 7. The FFF Mid season Draft will commence 21/7/20 at 8am AEST and conclude by 5pm AEST on 23/7/20. Fasten your seatbelts kids!
@Darran @Len @stowie @anthak @thokash @Brett Sanders @James84 @That KI Guy @MrsBear @tyze1 @port_leschenault @Bearfly @YAD69 @leematty1 @Dale Duivesteyn As per the above suggestion a few months back are we all able to free up 3 hours on Tuesday night July 21st from 8pm East coast time - or arrange proxies to plow through the bulk of the ORFFF MSD draft ??? We could do via VC and share a virtual beer/OJ if we really want to get in the COVID-19 spirit.
And on delists... Participation in the MSD is optional, if you want to play then delist by 10pm on 20/7/20.
OP updated 9am 7/6/21 - 9pm 12/6/21 - MSD trade period 10pm 12/6/21 - MSD delist deadline 9am 14/6/21 - Mid season draft
we probably should be looking to lock in some dates for the 2022 pre-season by early January some suggestions trade period 1 opens once supercoach officially opens (usually late Jan) trade period 1 ends 10pm Friday 18 February PSD delists due 10pm Sunday 20 February PSD commences 10am Thursday 24 February when PSD is completed trade period 2 re-opens trade period 2 runs until 10pm Saturday 12 March ORFFF Round 1 commences Wednesday 16 March (Melb vs WB) feel free to suggest some alternatives
Hi folks, I’ve just updated the OP with these dates, based on previous discussions. Feel free to change if needed @Dale Duivesteyn & @That KI Guy et al
Sorry, I noticed an error. I’ve just updated these two dates. the rules state there needs to be 3 clear days between the end of a trade period and the start of a draft. I just arbitrarily adjusted the delist deadline to a date during this 3-day period. The board should probably decide what date is most appropriate for the delist deadline
Thanks @anthak I wouldn’t mind some discussion and/or the board deciding the dates, what was suggested in DECEMBER was trades closing 18th Feb and PSD starting 24th Feb, no one countered and now we are locking in trades closing 25th Feb and the PSD stating 1st March (ie 15 days before the first match). Due to COVID I strongly prefer an earlier draft, so there is more time for coaches and the board to prepare for the million and 1 last minute COVID related SC and ORFFF tweaks and changes. @daleduivesteyn @James84 @Len @Darran can you please all take a look and let us know your preference for ALL preseason dates sometime early this week Cheers.
I just went with the dates that @That KI Guy posted in the trade thread, when he was the boss at the time
My Opinion is if we can get everyone back on ship in time we should bring everything forward, (I personally have an itch to get into Orfff and want there to be activity ASAP) Benefits to an earlier draft is exactly as @TheTassieHawk identifies, with a few board changes, this could work in ironing out a few things before all hell breaks loose round 1. Plus, it gives people more time for their other supercoach/fantasy "commitments" lol. I haven't got much more to say on the topic though. I'm in favour of moving things up
9am 30/5/22 - 930pm 11/6/22 = MSD trade period 10pm 11/6/22 - MSD delist deadline 9am 13/6/22 - Mid season draft end of draft - 9pm 21/6/22 post draft trade period i have updated the OP as per @Dale Duivesteyn's post above the same days (adjusted by 364 days) as last year - 11/6 and 13/6 can be shifted forward slightly if needed to allow more time for the draft and post draft (for 2023 PSD, 2023 MSD and 2024 PSD picks)
I’m just confused about the two different dates being posted. @TheTassieHawk why did you propose new dates after @Dale Duivesteyn said the first ones were perfect? Shouldn’t we go with what DD decided, except simply change from 2021 to 2022?
@anthak - it is 1 day difference so no biggie given the dates themselves reflect days of the week the minor adjustment was to start in the same day as last year which should mean that we end up ending the trade period the same number of days before round 15 as last season to be fair I would have preferred clear dates being specified and didn’t feel it was my place to propose dates prior to that announcement I was keen to clarify dates post DD’s message but understand they may need some formal ratification or adjustment (I would prefer forward rather than back given the lack of action in pre-draft trading) @Len has liked the post a couple above and as a member/alternate that is the only indication that it has been read and/or endorsed by the powers that be
