It's a low scoring slog-fest at the home of the Chumps Avengers 878/11/79 with Curnow, Gaff, Thomas & Mayne to play Chinchilla 585/8/73 with Touhy, Mackie, Caddy, Armo, NicNat, Joey & Kerridge to come. On averages Avengers by 60, but averages are essentially meaningless now, tight contest.
After the early game was completed the 29ers 887/10 lead the Virgins @YAD69 715/8 with both teams in with a chance to win, but the Virgins holding the momentum to edge slightly ahead on averages and projected scores midway through the 3rd term. The 29ers have selwood, bartel, cooney and kelly playing in the 320pm game (and by my quick count appearing to be on a combined 180 at half time) and will be looking for as big a lead as possible heading into the 440pm game where Zac Clarke will be battling solo against Hurn, Neale, Priddis, Sandy, JJK, Hutchings and Mundy for the Virgins.
Avengers 1020/13/78 Chumps 955/12/79 Chinchilla moved to have their noses in front and with more talent to come than the Avengers look likely victors
going on the half time Dockers and Eagles scores the Virgins have the game at their mercy, barring some of the crowd from Black Swamp kneecapping the Virgins as they depart the Paddock for the 3 Quarter time break which is a not so unlikely occurrence i think most of the ORFFF interest is now in the match a few hours NE
Not sure if Gaff is injured I haven't been watching the game, but his score is costing us, Chumps comfortably home
By the sound of it @choppers must have pulled some strings with the freo coaching staff and demanded a full on Gaff tag, Ross the boss has finally delivered for somebody
Pretty sure the Avengers lose by 7, Shaw and Gaff have a lot of making up to do with the rest of the squad between now and R1 2017
I shouldn't have done it, but after the Geelong game I had to know what I would have scored this week...1535!
Chinchilla 1168 defeated Cockburn 1162 by 6 points (the equal 2nd closest finish in ORFFF history) Black Swamp 1255 defeated by Useless Loop 1452 (the 10th highest score in ORFFF history, and the Virgins 2nd highest score for the season) ------ Week 3 - AFL Round 21 Drouin (14-1, 1st) vs Useless Loop (8-7, 7th) Neptune Island (13-2, 2nd) vs Chinchilla (10-5, 4th) which means that we have teams representing the West, SA, Vic and Queensland and that Drouin, Neptune Island and Chinchilla could all potentially host the first ever ORFFF Grand Final
A big congrats to @YAD69 for a massive effort in our match, making the prelim final as the hottest team in the comp is a fair effort for a team that were 2-5 and in 13th position after Round 7. The 29ers are bitterly disappointed to end their season with 3 straight losses and while we hate all the other ORFFF teams with an almost equal passion, we will now be barracking for anyone but Chinchilla such is the nature of our rivalry with the neighbouring Chumps (@choppers).
wow, what an exciting couple of finals! Such a close game in Chinchilla! and the Virgins putting on a huge performance to easily account for the 29ers and make the prelim from outside the top 4.
@Len Sorry I couldn't continue with match reports over the weekend, but real life intervened once more and only found out I had a win about 2 hrs ago.
Nice work @thokash Noahs have pumped out a lazy 1478 in their light match-simulation drill over the weekend. Menzel is a concern but hopefully eski can prove his fitness and return to the side. @choppers Beware the resting sharks
I hate that real life shit, your boys held up well, mine played like millionaires and were appropriately beaten.
A filthy weekend for you @Len As the form side of the comp, must be gutted to have your entire midfield and ruck wig-out or just not show up. Got a spare seat up in the box if you want a prime possie to watch the CHUM(P) CHURN.
All good mate, couple of side travelling as well or better over the last 3 to 4 weeks, can' only play the cards that fall and unfortunately some aces picked a bad time to become jokers, this will be remembered in contract negotiations
Tough loss for the Avengers but we'll be back next year! (unless the Asst Coach gets scapegoated for the loss of course, in which case )
Hardly, on exposed form in crunch games I need all the help I can get, we do need to plan a better preseason though, if we'd won a couple of those first 4 we lost we'd have had last week off and the boys could have gone missing for the weekend without a care
