I have a bit of a project I want to do this off-season inspired by @TheTassieHawk and his record keeping in the ORFFF league (here) - I want to try and collate a hall of fame for records for the illustrious ORFFL. It's kind of crazy to think we started this 8 years ago back in 2012 - the very same year GWS entered the AFL or perhaps more commonly known as the post Meatloaf era. And while some of the old names have left us and some new names have joined, and I'm sure all of us have ever decreasing time to dedicate to fantasy footy, the feel has never changed all that much with not so much a peep in the forums for the year but a very competitive vibe when it comes to winning. One thing I did want to get input on is what years to cover. Officially in tsLeagues we have data back to 2014. I have some spreadsheets from 2012 and 2013 where I was WayTooSerious (TM) and are pretty meticulous with every player and team score including finals. I had a quick look back through forums and the blog posts but it would appear the blog replies are empty since site cutover, so unless @walesy has some secret backup of comments there is no actual way to verify these records. I may have sent Hornsy these spreadsheets back in the day and can certainly make them publicly available but there would be no other way than to describe them as unofficial records at this stage. One for the thumbs as they would have said back in 2012 Thumbs up - include 2012 & 2013 scores but have an asterisk next to them as unofficial records Thumbs down - don't include 2012 & 2013 scores I might try and get the finals stats done in the next week or two ready for our finals series.
Have to include 2012 and 2013. Initial B2B, inaugural David Mundy Medal presentation, Wilbur Minson's unforgettable season etc. Let me know what you're missing and I'll see what I can dig through buddy. Think there's an ORFFL Hall of Fame thread around here too that...errr...I've not really been tending to.
got beaten by TiB's Dragons by 81 points. Played with 4 less (11 v 15), so not too depressing. Will not figure in finals this year but looking to next year to be competitive.
Man, my memory is butchered. I can't even remember how this used to work in 2012 Currently talking to an old backup now from 25/10/2013 which *fingers crossed* will have some answers for us.
I remember one year having to do all results via spreadsheet. I may have it on a harddrive "somewhere". Hopeless with recordkeeping too.
The glamas' season has come to a welcome, if premature, inglorious, injury riddled ending. However, not all is lost. We drafted a couple of gems (Rowan Marshal, Jordan Dawson) a couple of best 15 players (Colin O'Riordan, Taylin Duman, Sam Reid, Jack Ross) and some youngsters (Braydon Sier, Jackson Ross). WE have some relatively high draft picks (8th etc). But best of all we are heavy with starting or back-up rucks (Belly, Hickey, Marshall, Phillips). There is a good platform to make us optimistic about the future. Good luck to the finalists, but to be fair we are not that interested. Apart from an academic interest of course.
Ooh boy my favourite part of finals, hand picking my depise. Magicians select 8th place Dajarra Dragons as their week 1 finals opponent. @walesy your choice
Ah fuck it, bring it Savages. @4nsy Christensen wants revenge ("Connon" just needs lots of therapy to get over his ordeal) and it wouldn't feel right if actually getting to a Granny and avoiding Meatloafs' finest.
Yep @thokash had me convinced he was picking me but then he went rogue at the last moment... one good week of scoring fooled him!
I've convinced myself if I pick 8th and lose then it's not really my fault as 1st would play 8th in a non-choosing scenario. Sound logic, right? Right!? I might try to do some live coverage of POP vs SAR as well through the weekend if you guys aren't around. Good luck everyone!
