Yeah I'd imagine if we were to look at it then the veto would probably have to be sacrificed, but I can't actually ever remember it being used either so might not be a huge loss.
I like the idea, do we think it would increase involvement during the draft time or potentially make the process even slower if people are waiting around for replies due to pick swaps? Have to remember this isn't a league that trade a lot, but if it's "free" to implement then why not.
I think it would increase involvement but valid point about the waiting around, so far "gentleman's agreements" haven't worked out amazingly well for us but if I can't see it slowing things down too much more than it already is. My guess would be the extra involvement would speed it up so might just offset each other.
Actually one last thing, we'd also have to work out if it was still player for player or what, as people might be annoyed if pre-draft they have pick X in the 6th round because someone else is passing, and then that changes because that someone else suddenly need to fill another list spot. As an example right now I have 6 picks in the first 5 rounds, but if I traded out a player then my 6th rounder would be needed again.
These are the rules we use in FA, they work almost flawlesskly and account for things like the one you raise .Part 2. In Draft 5.5 The In Draft definition is as per 4.7 above 5.6 Any trades involving players or picks in the current draft must contain an equal quantity of assets from both parties, picks in upcoming drafts are not relevant to this statement and can be traded freely 5.7 During the In Draft Period you can only trade draft picks in that current draft and the two immediately following 5.8 Only live picks taken into the draft can be traded 5.9 Completed trades to be posted in the thread by that name 5.10 Any trades involving current draft picks must also be posted in the current draft discussion thread for immediate review 5.11 During the draft trades are passed by one of either; 6 non participating coach’s approval, or 6 active hours between 8am and 11pm without any stated objection. Objections to be dealt with by the Trade Manager, unless he is involved/unavailable than it will be the commish.
We'd never get it finished if we didn't let people draft during the draft. Think you meant trading, in which case I agree as I am also not in favour of trading during the draft.
tbh I was stroncgly against it for the FA but lost the vote. It has slowed our draft slightly though I think it could have the reverse effect here as it definitely lifts involvement in draft. Overall I now enjoy it, it's pretty simple to manage and allows for great flexibility in drafting, but each to their own and wouldn't be fussed if it never happened here either
I'll keep this thing moving. Sorry but can't access site during school hours. Shane Mumford is brought on board. Will try to give a list for future rounds. LG
The kid needs to get a few steaks into him, but he kinda reminds me of young Fyfe. Hopefully he can still get a few games this year even with his current frame. Pick #24 - Will Day (HAW) @Len
This might win an award for the dumbest pick of the draft, but here goes With pick #26 the glamas take a punt on Callan Ward, GWS, M No internal dialogue when I typed Cal this time. OTY @Bearfly
