At the risk of stating the bleeding obvious, is the draft going to proceed? It is all well and good having standby draft assistance (and thank you to those who have volunteered) but the members who have not de-listed are running ghost ships (like hornsy's old team last year). If you do not de-list is it really your team any longer? Are we just deferring the hard decision to hold or fold individual teams or the league until it is too late to draft? Second point, will it be equitable? This evening, the informal, afl arranged interclub matches begin. A squad that has de-listed as requested is immediately at a disadvantage to those that have chosen not to. Especially among those who are active but have not de-listed. Seeking an advantage in this way is to me inequitable and is not consistent with the good natured, hard fought comp we had.
Hey mate, everyone except @port_leschenault has said they are in for another year so we can only accept that will be the case ( I can't read peoples minds). Seeing @Bearfly didn’t want to start a draft this Friday we will go with the updated timeline which has the delistings deadline as Sunday and draft start on Monday. Not sure how many haven't delisted yet but will send reminders tomorrow. Personally whatever I see in the pre season games wouldn't change any of my delisting decisions as you have to take these results with a grain of salt anyway. I've already seen enough from the players I had and feel fringe players try the hardest to get noticed in preseason games while star players either don't play or just go through the motions. This results in those list cloggers looking like future stars and sucking you in for one more year! Anyway if people do decide to change who they have delisted before the official deadline, who am I to say no? By the time the draft starts on Monday I am assuming the preseason games will all be done and dusted?
The matches this week are technically practice games and then there's one round of pre-season games the following week (or week after?). Would be good to see a game from each team (in whatever format) but didn't mind either way as the main thing is we need the draft to be completed. If we're going with the Sunday delistment timeline then these games may well decide one or two of my delistings that were lineballs where I essentially flipped a coin on who to keep.
Can anyone confirm does trade period end at 9pm Thursday or Friday? Keen on extending it until Friday if we aren't started the draft until Monday (and most teams have delisted already)
Sorry all, been away for work all week with very limited access, just landed back home and will delist tomoz
Trade completed Mallacoota @thokash sends Kennedy, Hogan, Hind to Albert Park @James84 in exchange for Bailey, Xerri, Pick 9, Ross, Aleer, Guthrie
Trade between Mallacoota and Coulta @thokash sends Aliir Aliir and 2023 PSD #62 to @Bearfly for Lachie Ash and 2023 PSD 3rd round
From a draft POV all I need is lists at 20 by Sunday afternoon, Friday or Saturday doesn't bother me @stripey In FA the buggers almost never stop so I am used to it.
He was, then he left, and has come back in the same trade period my tsleagues is up to date. List at 21 for now
In whats possibly an ORFFL first and maybe world first, he was traded to me in an earlier trade and then traded back in the same period (apologies its in the other chat thread)
