@Tylo Monarchs have run away convincing winners and laid down a statement for the rest of the finals series King Island 1449 def Serengeti 1188 To make matters worse, if I wasn't so afraid, we could have just pipped the Armadillos and stayed alive...
The Barracuda's finish on 1,337/15 89.1 to the Parasites @ddsaints 1,179/15 78.6 Finals Week 1 The Parasites Coach played down the side’s entry into the top 8 this year, however with 11 wins for the season including wins over the Armadillo’s and Monarch’s they are in a well-deserved position. The Cuda’s are buoyed with getting back Hall and Tuohy to sure up their defensive line. The visitors got off to a great start, the home side hadn’t even got out of the rooms. Through the mid, Anderson, Cerra and Gaff hitting their straps early, Sinclair, Moore and Lukosious pushing forward at every opportunity, Marshall controlled the bounce with Sidebum roaming the 50-meter arch. It was the Hogan and Butters show piling on goal after goal that silenced the hometown crowd. Once the home side got out on the paddock, they had some work to do to reel in the score that had been put on the board already. Hall lead the charge from defense with Weitering, Tuohy and Lloyd with the run and carry. The coach opted for youth in the ruck with Young, he battled well, with the the Bont, Corn Boy Cripps, who could be in hot water for a big hit during game, Guthrie and Jarrod Flavoured Berry contributing solidly and building as the match went on. Hawkins and Errol doubled up with AstroNauaght keeping defenders busy. It was off the bench rotations that got the home side in front in the last term with the Magnificent Zorko and Smith combining well with speed and ball movement compared to the visitor’s young blood in Rivers and debutant Darcy. Experienced finals campaigns with the Cuda’s staying the course through the last term gave them the edge and the win today, however lesson learnt, get out on the paddock early! The Parasites can hold their heads high taking out all the BOG’s, the coach will be looking for more consistency in their 2023 season. The Cuda’s will be sweating Corn Boy Cripps and the results of the other matches for next week. BOG – J Hogan (PAKP), Z Butters (PAKP) & J Sinclair (PAKP)
@JPK Nuytsland Vikings 1359/15/90 DEF Coolgardie Prospectors 1179/15/78 First round of the finals Vikings hosted Prospectors down @ the graveyard, Coolgardie shot themselves in the foot when two of their players scored tons in the two's. Compounded by the fact Hoskin-Elliott subbed off at 3 quarter time, fair to say he had no impact on the game scoring only 10. Prospectors engine room is one of best and they all stood up getting plenty of ball getting great supply from ruck who easily dominated the contest while Sicily was only other player to show any grit in this do or die battle chopping off everything in site. As for the Vikings it was a lucky escape, Greene powered through the game after sustaining an injury early but how now succumbed to a season ending in surgery. That is now two season ending injuries in two weeks, the boys are going to have to dig deep to have any shot at the title now. Vikings had winners on all lines but it would be our second stringers that were the difference in this game, shining light in the past two games has to be Stephenson a move to the backline has paid dividends but has been at the cost of Scott who has now been swung forward. The lack of defenders playing we are now forced to play Scott. The tons an even 5 each Shannon Hurn (111): Hurn contributed with 25 possessions, 7 marks and 3 tackles. Jaidyn Stephenson (109): Starting on a HBF, Stephenson contributed with 31 possessions, 8 grabs and 3 tackles. Isaac Heeney (122): Starting forward, Heeney contributed with 21 disposals, 5 grabs, 5 tackles and managed 2.1. Chad Warner (104): Rotating in midfield, Warner contributed with 20 disposals, 3 marks, 4 tackles and managed 3.2. Christian Petracca (137): Starting forward, Petracca contributed with 36 disposals, 4 grabs, 3 tackles and managed 1.2. Jaeger O’Meara (107): Rotating from half forward to midfield, O’Meara contributed with 20 touches, 4 marks, 8 tackles and kicked 1.1. James Sicily (104): In defence, Sicily contributed with 26 possessions, 8 marks and 2 tackles. Ollie Wines (118): Head smacked on the turf tackle in Q1… 32 touches with 23 by hand… also 6 tackles and 5 marks… and booted 0.1. Playing inside midfield. Caleb Serong (103): Starting in midfield, Serong contributed with 24 disposals, 3 marks and 3 tackles. Oscar McInerney (110): First ruck, McInerney contributed with 19 disposals, 4 grabs, 4 tackles, 37 ruck taps and 3 frees against Another year goes around which will put Coolgardie in a great position to be pushing even further into next years finals
Thanks mate. Best possible Coolgardie score of 1,361 points meant that I would have had to have been a clairvoyant to be able to win this game. Silver lining is best pick of the finalists in next years draft. Good luck to all remaining teams in the 2022 finals.
ASAP. I need enough time to have seen the selections and upload the fixtures into TSL before lockout.
