The Barracuda's finish on 1,202/15 80.1 to the Panthers @ron swanson 1,172/15 78.1 H&S protocol takes another victim, Cripps of the Jamie variety for the home team so Mad Jack making only his second appearance this season and delighted the fans with 3 goals, young Errol rotated off the wing, AstroNaught bagged 2 goals, however pulled up sore after a knee knock in Q2 and Tomahawk could only manage 1 goal. The visitors left young Campbell behind so Brodie Smith did all the heavy lifting with 24 disposals, with Florent and Sam De Koning float on the lose player. From the center Stanley was slow again this match, Ryder had heavy feet, but the oppositions Sean Darcy smashed them both with 27 hit-outs and control the pig skin, he even had time to slot 2 goals. The Cuda’s defense has taken a battering of late with Hall, McGovern, Zorko, Weitering and Jones all out. Every young Lloyd cleaning up around the fringes, Tuohy the running machine, Lewis Young used his height down back and even pinch hit in the ruck as well. However, Dan Rioli had other ideas, with 31 disposals and a couple of frees going his way. Chol chopped out against Young and squeezed through 3 big ones. Brodie chased Graham rotating through the middle whilst popping through 2 goals. The Panthers midfield were licking their lips, they could smell the fear. Ellis was on fire with 26 disposals, Simpkin had heaps of the ball, however, gave away 3 frees and there was plenty that were handed out. Lachie Hunter looked out of form and Hately tried to take on the Bont and came off second best. The home side had control of the meddle of the ground, Guthrie had the ball on a string with 2 goals and 28 possessions, he also gave away 4 frees. Jacky Graham rotated up forward to get try and kick start the forward line with Corn Boy Cripps lifting in Q4. It was a hard fought game, the lead changing more often than a chameleon changes it’s colours while walking on a Picasso. However, it was Corn Boy Cripps gutsy effort in the last quarter to sway the game the Cuda’s way. Another Houdini moment for The Cuda’s, with the club’s average points per match down from 1,337 to 1,234 since the mid-season break with massive injury toll especially in defense. The coach will be hoping for better news this week from the medico’s with a couple of players due back. The Panthers have missed a golden opportunity to take the scalp of the Cuda’s on their turf. Progress score from The Stadium sees the Whalers from down Eden way, leading the Home Team 12/824 - 8/657. The Visitors had input from all over ground with Papley 106 up forward, following up his good form from last round, Pendles 110, in the middle, and Crisp 91 and Young 82, helping down back to limit the Barcrawlers scoring. On the other side of the coin, Banchang had Coleman 119, back from HS Protocols, and Dawson 92, shoring up the defence, while LDU 110 and Hewett 94, did their bit in the middle, and Greenwood, off the bench, chimed in with 102, his best score since Rd2. Can the Barcrawlers with Markov, Langdon, Duggan, Finlayson, Gray, Farrell and Neal-Bullen make up the difference and score enough to get the win or can Amon, Dixon and Spargo defend their 167 lead and score enough to secure the W and 4 points. @HOLKY
Full time at The Stadium and Banchang has defeated Eden 1165-1090. Eden started the final term 167 pts in front and while both Amon 115 and Dixon 97 gave them a good start, it wasn't enough to hold off the locals from coming home over the top of them, with Langdon 98, Markov 82, Gray 80 and Finlayson 77, leading the fight back. Next round sees Eden head home to host Blanchetown, while Banchang are at home to Korumburra. BOG: 3. Coleman BB 119 2. Amon EW 115 1. L D-U BB 110 1. Cheers mate. Apologies for the lack of score updates over the weekend. I've dived in at the deep end with a new job in the travel industry and it's been a big lifestyle adjustment. I'll aim to get a match report up mid week - some massive individual scores from both sides!!
Thanks mate. Sorry for not being active over the weekend, was somewhat under the weather. Looks like my boys decided to take a week off because I wasn't around to slap them into shape!
The Buff were ready to launch into a 3 game home stand to finish off the season as they welcomed the Prospectors from Coolgardie. With the Bulls and resurgent Bunyips among others, snapping at thier heels for a top 8 spot the Prospectors were keen to bank the 4 points while the Buffaloes were just as win needy as they looked to solidify their spot in the top 4. Unfortunately for the Buffaloes it looked like they were more focussed on next rounds matchup with the Armadillos as one disappointing performance was followed by another and another. Joe Daniher (26) was the leader of the bunch as his second half of the season disappearance continued but he was dis-ably supported very well by Jack Viney (71) and Josh Kelly (62). All that would combine for Serengeti to post their lowest score of the season and have the home town crowd wondering whether this side really has what it takes to be competing at the pointy end of the season. As luck woud have it though, the visiting Prospectors were even more of a disappointment. Hoskin-Elliot (29) spent too much time taking cues from his idol up the other end of the ground, Nick Larkey (27) didn't even bother to run the game out, Ginnivan (58) stopped getting paid free kicks and ex-Buffalo James Aish (44) stayed true to his non-compete contract clause. Despite all the negatives there were some highlights on the day. Perhaps none moreso than an engaging and enthralling ruck duel that saw the brilliant recruit Darcy Fort (112) battle it out against the enigma of Sam Draper (113). The contest was looking very much like it would peter out into forgettable nothingness until both big men decided to put on a show. With Draper just getting the edge, it meant Zac Merret (136) was able to put in a late star performance and do enough to ensure the 4 points would be staying in Serengeti. Nuytsland 1496 def Staghorn Flat Bulls 1339 @tyze1 In almost a carbon copy of the previous weeks wins @thegraveyard this was another high scoring affair, Bulls put on a mighty display and if they played any other team it would have been a win for the Bulls. Staghorns Mcluggage and Shiel carried there team with both being close to best on ground, Shiel in particular came home stong and is finally showing what he is capable of as the last few years he hasnt lived up to the hype. Carmicheal had 10 clangers that cost him 50 points and Hill's 26 disappointing. Vikings have hit a purple patch of form with another huge score now making them the top scoring team in the comp. Warner is staking a claim to be the best midfielder in team but Petracca is having none of that now lifting his game to new heights, Libba's at the coalface extracting, Heeney and Greene one two combo is sublime while down back Taylor is intercepting everything Hurn and Newman are rebounding and playing a bit of kick to kick Vikings: Chad Warner (147): Rotating in midfield, Warner contributed with 35 possessions, 6 marks, 3 tackles and managed 1.1. Isaac Heeney (103): Starting forward, Heeney contributed with 17 disposals, 5 grabs, 5 tackles and 1.2 on the scoreboard. Nic Newman (107): Coming off a HBF, Newman contributed with 26 touches, 5 marks and 4 tackles. Sam Taylor (135): Massive stat line in Q1… 20 disposals and 6 marks with 6 tackles… umps paid him 3FF Toby Greene (100): First goal and three in Q2… 4.0 from 14 possessions and 7 marks. Starting on a HFF Tom Liberatore (130): Playing inside midfield, Liberatore contributed with 31 touches, 3 marks and 2 tackles. Shannon Hurn (108): Floating at half back, Hurn added 27 disposals and 9 marks. Christian Petracca (139): Starting in midfield, Petracca contributed with 30 disposals, 7 grabs and 2 tackles. Bulls: Hugh McCluggage (151): Copped a knee to the right ribs in Q4 but played on… 30 disposals and 8 marks with 4 tackles… 4.1 as well. Playing in midfield. Brayden Maynard (109): Starting at half back, Maynard contributed with 16 disposals, 6 marks and 12 tackles. Dylan Shiel (146): Head to head… 29 possessions and 3 marks plus 5 tackles. Playing inside midfield. 3.McCluggage 2.Warner 1.Shiel Big Boy McEvoy
I don't remember seeing the non-compete clause in the trade paperwork, I guess I'll have to look over that kind of thing int he future Great report, thanks mate
