    @Mick
    Apologies again for the delay

    D:
    Sam Docherty, Adam Saad, Steven May, Ryan Burton (Ballard)
    M: Zac Merrett, Darcy Parish, Josh Kelly, Jack Viney (Henry)
    R: Sam Draper (Powell-Pepper [oop])
    F: Toby Greene, Jeremy Cameron, Joe Daniher, Bailey Smith (Switkowski)
    I: Lachie Neale,Patrick Dangerfield

    IN:Draper
    OUT: Henry

    MILESTONES: Joe Daniher - 100 Games. Joe becomes the 5th Buffalo to reach the 100 game milestone after Josh Kelly achieved the feat earlier this season. Although he has the 2nd lowest average of the 15 Buffalo players to appear in at least 50 games, he will always be a fan favourite and is currently putting together a season reminiscent of the last time The Buff were able to hold aloft the premiership trophy

    R24 / Finals Week 3 - Grand Final

    Korumburra Blowflys (6th) v Nuytsland Vikings (2nd)
    @bryzza

    In - S. Menegola, T. Conway
    Out - S.Ross (inj), T. Xerri
    New - T. Conway (MSD 2022)

    D - N. Vlastuin, A. Witherden, J. Howe, N. Hind
    M - T. Kelly, J. Steele (VC), L. Hunter, S. Menegola (EMG T. Boak)
    R - T. Goldstein (C) (EMG T. Xerri)
    F - J. Dunkley, D. Martin, N. Martin, A. Perkins (EMG M. Frederick)
    I/C - Z. Guthrie, T. Conway (EMG M. Walters)

    Two massive changes this week for the Blowflys as they continue to go with the flow, riding this magical wave pushing them all the way into the 2023 Grand Final!!!

    One forced change with midfielder Seb Ross unfortunately exiting the Preliminary final in the 1st quarter due to a hamstring strain, replaced this week by the fairy tale story that is Sam Menegola. A former prolific stalwart of the KB side who has always taken the long road and done it the hard way in his career. He has overcome various injuries throughout the last few seasons to finally get his body right and put his hand up for selection in the biggest game of the year. Consistent recent strong performances in the ORRFVUL have been rewarded. Welcome back Sam!!!

    *another twist in this bizarre fairy tale which could play a major part in deciding the 2023 Grand Final result is that Sam Menegola was originally a Viking! Initially appearing to be an astute trade in from Korumburra after he'd only played 2 games prior to the trade, he then rapidly rose to be one of the top F/M eligible players in the league... but was it really a great trade?.. KB had to move back 1 solitary pick in the PSD to get that deal done. No big deal on paper - except for the fact that pick involved was used to acquire a young gangly ruck prospect named Tim English... who the Blowflys list management team correctly predicted might indeed slide to around that pick and had their sights set firmly upon selecting him. Ouch! That one still hurts...

    The other fairy tale story that no-one saw coming is the selection of a new young emerging ruckman in Toby Conway to make his debut in a Grand Final!!! There's several repeated themes here. This guy has also travelled the hard road via repeated injuries and rehabilitation to get to this point. The selection committee is hoping he can rise to the occasion ala Marlion Pickett vintage 2019 and produce something special with a debut on the biggest stage of all! That said, we're happy if Dusty Martin wants to get in the way again while putting on another BOG performance in a Grand Final and collect yet another Norm Smith medal!!! Should we have an ORFFU equivalent of this revered award!? I vote yes! and why not start right now!?

    With the deepest ruck division in the ORFFU - the ageing but still prolific warrior and former BAFFU champion Todd Goldstein, his understudy and heir apparent in young star on the rise Tristan Xerri and the consensus Korumburra ruck of the future for several years in waiting, the large aggressive wild animal that is Braydon Preuss, who would've thought that it would be the long term project in young Toby Conway that got the GF gig at this early stage of his career... Godspeed young behemoth!!!

    The hard luck story (aside from the recent injury to young dominant superstar Nick Daicos in only his second season) is that of long standing club Captain Rory Sloane, who received a nasty poke in the eye and will miss another KB GF as a result! The mighty Goldmember will stand in with the man of Steele backing him up as the mighty Korumburra Blowflys aim to make this Grand Final their 3rd time lucky!!! Up the Flys!!!
