A comfortable win for the Huskies, as the Prairie Dogs bring their Melbourne players on a bye and leave their Sydney players at home.
Serengeti have managed to come out on top in a low scoring affair @choppers Serengeti 1139 def Bueng Kan 976 Full match report to follow
Full time at Eden and the Whalers get a 2nd win in a row for the first time since 2022. It was a scrappy game with the Whalers having big outs with 4 players missed the bus back from Sydney. Gonna pertition the state Govt for Merimbula to have an international airport. Dom Sheed and Braeden Campbell had a rough collision early on, ruling both out. Coaches agreed to continue as the Cormarants already had 1 out. The ruck contest was close with our big prospect Kieran Briggs being outworked by Lloyd Meek who goes to 3-0 in the Giant Tap. Harley Reid was BOG, with 147, proving himself as the #1 pick. Darcy and Florent also got 100+ (when was the last time a losing side got 1-2-3?) Amon and Crisp paired up in the midfield and switched into the backline to give Pendles a go in the midfield late in the game. Both teams play sides that haven't won yet next week, Eden for the chance to get 3 in a row, Carnamah to get a win. Giant Tap: Meek 97 def Briggs 87 BAFFU: Reid 3, Darcy 2, Florent 1
Apologies for the lack of match reports the last fortnight @tyze1 + @Wolffy84. Life, work and kids footy eating up all of my time currently. I'm aiming to get them done tomorrow with some time off for Anzac Day. Cheers
@insider Nuytsland Vikings 1182 def by Ararat Armadillos 1311 In the heart of a sprawling, ancient land "Odin's Graveyard", a clash of civilizations was about to unfold. The Viking warriors, with their gleaming swords and formidable armor, faced off against an unexpected foe: the armadillos. These creatures, often underestimated, were not to be trifled with. The Vikings, hailing from different regions, were a sight to behold. Their mail shirts glinted in the dappled sunlight, their helmets adorned with fearsome horns. Each warrior wielded a deadly array of weapons—swords, axes, daggers, spears—all finely crafted and honed for battle. On the other side, the armadillos stood, their armored shells glinting in the sun. These creatures, though small in stature, were known for their resilience and toughness. Their thick, keratinized skin protected them from all but the most powerful blows. As the battle commenced, the Vikings charged, their war cries echoing through the graveyard. The armadillos, undeterred, rolled into tight balls, their armored shells forming an impenetrable barrier. Viking swords and axes glanced off the tough exterior of the armadillos, their blows ineffective against the creatures' natural defenses. The armadillos, sensing victory, launched a counterattack. With surprising speed, they rolled towards the Vikings, their sharp claws and powerful jaws tearing through armor and flesh alike. The Vikings, caught off guard by the ferocity of their foes, fought desperately to defend themselves. But it was too late. The armadillos, with their superior numbers and natural defenses, overwhelmed the Vikings. One by one, the Norse warriors fell, their bodies littering the graveyard floor. The Viking defenses had been repelled, their warriors vanquished. The cost was high—the Vikings had contracted leprosy from their fallen foes, a disease that would plague them for generations to come. As the sun set on the battlefield, the armadillos celebrated their hard-fought victory. They had proven themselves to be more than mere animals—they were warriors, fierce and unyielding. 1 Treloar 151 2 Rowell 126 3 Newman 116 Big Tap English
Match report from Pakenham Ararat 1500 defeat Pakenham 1177 Another home game and another big team came to town. This time it was the powerhouse unit of the Dillos With an undefeated record Ararat was sure to test out the home team. Right from the start they showed the home fans why they are a champion team. The stars shown with Gawn 162, Laird 149, Rowell 136, Miers 125, Ryan 106, Brayshaw 103, Tex 102 all dominating, along with Blakey 98, Treloar 94, Soligo 91 and Rozee 91 also showing their class. Across the board it was real showing of strength. The coach would be very pleased making do with another wannabe contender. This type of scoring and form is way to good for the under performing Parasites. Pakenham have been up and down all season struggling to get some real form and consistency in scoring. This week there was a couple of decent players Anderson 151, Sinclair 113 and Moore 104. Without those 3 the score gap would have been a lot bigger. Most other players are well down and need to hit the track hard this week. The coach is hoping for and injury free run in the second half of the season and hopefully increase scoring and consistency. The ruck battle heading into the game was a blockbuster but unfortunately the Big Row couldn’t get over his knee niggle and was completely outclassed by the peoples Beard. Nuytsland Vikings 1355 def Serengeti Buffalos 1208 @wrightbrendan In the shadow of Odin's Graveyard, where the fallen warriors of old were said to rest, a great battle unfolded. The Viking warband, with their gleaming weapons and sturdy armor, faced off against a formidable foe: the mighty buffalos. These creatures, renowned for their strength and ferocity, stood as a testament to the wildness of the land. The Vikings, hailing from diverse corners of Scandinavia, were a sight to behold. Clad in mail shirts and helmets, brandishing swords, axes, and spears, they formed a formidable line. Each warrior bore a shield adorned with intricate designs, a symbol of their skill and craftsmanship. As the battle commenced, the Vikings advanced, their weapons at the ready. The buffalos, undaunted, charged forward, their hooves thundering against the ground. Swords clashed against horns, shields splintered under the force of the buffalos' attacks, and the air was filled with the sounds of battle. On the other side, the buffalos gathered, their massive horns gleaming in the dim light. These horns, curved and sharp, were not just for show—they were deadly weapons, capable of piercing even the thickest armor. The leader of the buffalos, a massive bull with horns that seemed to touch the sky, pawed at the ground, ready to charge. The Vikings fought with a fierce determination, their resolve unbroken. They held their ground against the onslaught of the buffalos, pushing back against the massive beasts with all their might. Slowly but surely, they began to gain the upper hand, their weapons finding their mark with deadly accuracy. As the sun began to set, casting a blood-red glow over the battlefield, the buffalos finally began to falter. Their leader, the massive bull, fell to his knees, his strength waning. With a final, defiant roar, he succumbed to his wounds, the last of the buffalos to fall. The Vikings stood victorious, their weapons stained with blood, their chests heaving with exertion. They had emerged triumphant against a foe that many thought unbeatable. 3.Sweet 136 2.Warner 135 1.English 134 and Big Tap winner
Opening score from The Stadium, Bueng Kan and the visiting Prospectors 2/216 (Wines 116, Worrell 100) lead the home team 2/170 (Dawson 94) @JPK
@Wolffy84 sorry for the late match report - its been one of those weeks! In the end it was a very comfortable win by the home side, who look to finally be putting together a quality season, while the visitors had some amazing performances, just not enough off them. Coolgardie 1377 / 91.8 defeated Horsham 1222 / 81.5 There were 10 players who scored more than 100 points for the Prospectors, which is a great team performance, although the one big downside of the game was the early injury to forward C Weightman, seeing him only score 2 points. The list was impressive, with T Miller (149), C Serong (140), J Aish (122), J Waterman (116), O Wines (110), D Heppell (107), J Sicily (105), T Bruhn (104), J McInerney (102), and J Worrell (101) all getting the job done. On the flip side, the highest score of the game was the visitors ruck behemoth in J Witts (155) absolutely monstering the Coolgardie back-up ruckman (D Fort) all over the ground. He was ably supported by W Drew (114), M Holmes (109), S Flanders (105), and J Caldwell (100) sharking the clean hitouts all over the field. Unfortunately for the visitors and their fans, the support fell away quite quickly. While there were some very serviceable players in Andrews, Roberts, and Duursma, the remaining 7 players were well below average, and that's what cost the team a chance at the win. The big tap: J Witts, Horsham, comfortably demolished D Fort, Coolgardie by 85 points, 155 to 70. The Votes: 3 - J Witts, Horsham, 155 2 - T Miller, Coolgardie, 149 1 - C Serong, Coolgardie, 140 Next up sees Horsham continue their road trip, this time off to Eden for some whale watching, while Coolgardie are headed for a tropical holiday, taking on the relocated River Rats of Bueng Kan. Good luck to all four teams.
