I'd really like to see even the most simple match report from each home coach each week. Even a 10 minute investment would be enough. Do it during your lunch break, or when sitting on the bus / train, or when doing a number two, or instead of watching funny cat videos on youtube. As our friends at Nike say: just do it! That's 10 minutes, generally every second week, across 17 weeks, but only half of them will be when you're the home side. So its less than 2 hours for the whole year. There's 8,760 hours in a year.
Both teams starting a little sluggish but it is the Bunyips with an early advantage @martyg Serengeti 129/2/65 v Blanchetown 340/4/85
I'm burning the candle atm between working nightshift hours, long commutes, Dad life with 3 young kids + coaching and taxiing them to multiple sports commitments. This will be an ongoing time issue with me this season. I'd like to have more time to put into ORFFU and fun in general but just can't currently. I'll aim to get a belated R1 match report done when I get a chance on Sunday @JPK
Half-time at the KingDome sees the home side with a slight advantage after getting out of the blocks early. Burgoyne everywhere for the visiting Crocs. @fresh King Island 861/11/78.3 Cow Bay 517/7/73.9
Early in the third term in Exmouth, @JPK 's visiting Prospectors (661/9/73) lead the Anglers (566/8/71) by 95 points.
It’s all over bar the shouting down in The Crater with the Buffaloes staring down the barrel of an 0-2 start @martyg Serengeti 941/13/72 v Blanchetown 1241/13/96
All but over in Eden with the Bulls having a stranglehold on this one leading by 117 midway through the 3rd. @HOLKY Plovers 654/11/59 Bulls 771/9/86
Blanchetown have continued their good form to start the season and finished things off comfortably at The Crater, running out 263 point winners. @martyg Blanchetown 1416 def Serengeti 1153
In a lacklustre affair, @JPK 's Coolgardie Prospectors have beaten the Exmouth Anglers by 115 points. Coolgardie entered the match a man down but this was counteracted by the Anglers fielding three players OOP. Apart from Willie thumbing his nose at his former employers when celebrating a goal by pretending to smoke a joint, there were no real highlights from this one. Rowbottom (100), Rioli (119) and Treacy (112) battled manfully against Wines (104), O'Meara (107) and Wanganeen-Milera (103), but the home side's supporting cast could not complete the deal. Coolgardie continue their strong start to the season moving to 2 - 0, with Exmouth firmly at the bottom end of the table 0 - 2. BAFFU W.Rioli (EXA) 119 - 3 votes N.Wanganeen-Milera (COP) 113 - 2 votes J.Treacy (EXA) 112 - 1 vote Giant Tap O.Mcinerny (COP) 59 def T.Brockman* (EXA) 23 Next up the Prospectors play host to the Monarchs, with Exmouth traversing the country to Pakenham.
Round 2 - Ararat Armadillos vs Hughenden Prairie Dogs As the cliche goes, a week is a long time in football. Riding high off a nice first-up win, the Armadillos saw a Prairie Dog outfit hurt by injury and down on form and got a bit ahead of themselves. With Bramble (24) tagged, both Stewart (9) and MacDonald (10) injured and subbed out, the likes of Clayton Oliver (130) and Darcy Byrne-Jones (127) sniffed an upset victory. A disappointing Sanders (62) and Tom McDonald (60) battled with an equally disappointing Nate Caddy (25) and Reuben Ginbey (58), but ultimately while Josh Battled hard (108), Rozee (130), Soligo (108) and Brayshaw (106) wrestled control in the midfield and put the game to bed. Final (close) score AA 1086 def HPD 999 Some great things to look forward to down at Hughenden though, with Thilthorpe (97) monstering defences and Van Rooyen (64) building some confidence and ready to breakout.
