[span style='line-height: 115%; font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #000000;]After much drafting, bantering and calling for coaches to
hurry up the first 20 rounds of the ORFFU draft have been completed. I shall
preview the sides in reverse draft order:

[span style='line-height: 115%; font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #000000;]Started with pick 18, but made it clear from his first
double pick that he won't let that be a disadvantage. The Armadillos look to be
differing from the traditional pure mid lead instead choosing to have Will
Minson at the helm. Daniel Cross and Bernie Vince playing for Melbourne this
year could find new roles in Ararat. Also notable is 10 players under 22 so
Ararat could become a strong side in years to come, for example Chad Wingard
already averages 99. Is this a sign of things to come, maybe?

    [span style='line-height: 115%; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #000000;]Players: Pick 18: Chad Wingard (Age: 20, 2013 av: 99, F/M),

    [span style='line-height: 115%; font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #000000;]The Prospectors have quite a strong side with 7 top 100
players including JPK and Dean Cox. Added to that is ample ruck backup so as
not to require strange positions. No players from this year's draft but some
who proved themselves last year (O'Meara, Vlastuin, Wines). May be found
wanting in the forward line with 4[span style='font-size: 16px;]th highest Tomlinson only
averaging 66 last year but we'll see.
[span style='font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000;]

    [span style='line-height: 115%; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #000000;]Players: Pick 17: JPK (25, 105, M), Pick 20: Jaeger
    O'Meara (19, 90, M), Pick 53: Shane Mumford (27, 92, R), Pick 56: Dean Cox (32,
    107, R), Pick 89: Nick Vlastuin (19, 75, M/D), Pick 92: Brad Ebert (23, 97, M),
    Pick 125: Oliver Wines (19, 74, M), Pick 128: Drew Petrie (31, 103, F), Pick
    161: Ty Vickery (23, 80, F), Pick 164: Lachie Hunter (19, 53, F/M), Pick 197: Dean Terlich (24,
    79, D), Pick 200: Daniel Wells (29, 96, M), Pick 233: Cale Hooker (25, 77, D),
    Pick 236: Daniel Jackson (27, 93, M), Pick 269: Sam Colquhoun (19, 54, M/D),
    Pick 272: Ricky Petterd (25, 76, D), Pick 305: Adam Tomlinson (20, 66, F), Pick
    308: John Griffin (28, 90, R), Pick 341: Tory Dickson (26, 70, F), Pick 344:
    Jamie McMillan (22, 73, M)

[span style='line-height: 115%; font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #000000;]A strong midfield setup with Conca and Bennell set to
become the main midfields after O'Keefe retires. Harley Bennell himself already
a proven player at 21 having averaged 97 points both of the past 2 years, and
Kade Kolodjashnij taken pick 5 in this year's National Draft. All in all, there
are some good potential players at Pearcedale.

    [span style='line-height: 115%; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #000000;]Players: Pick 16: Harley Bennell (21, 97, M), Pick 21:
    Matthew Kreuzer (24, 98, R), Pick 52: Matthew Lobbe (24, 86, R), Pick 57: Luke
    Parker (21, 87, F/M), Pick 88: Heath Shaw (28, 97, D), Pick 93: David Mundy
    (28, 104, M), Pick 124: Josh Caddy (21, 60, F/M), Pick 129: Ben Reid (24, 81,
    D/F), Pick 160: Reece Conca (21, 81, M), Pick 165: Devon Smith (20, 70, F/M),
    Pick 196: Brodie Smith (22, 76, D), Pick 201: Jeremy Howe (23, 73, F), Pick
    232: Kade Kolodjashnij (18, N/A, D), Pick 237: Josh Thomas (22, 79, M), Pick
    268: Josh Gibson (29, 79, D), Pick 273: Ryan O'Keefe (33, 101, M), Pick 304:
    Toby Nankervis (19, N/A, R), Pick 309: Sam Fisher (31, 80, D), Pick 340: Rhys

[span style='line-height: 115%; font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #000000;]An interesting mix of players with the Smugglers, the
    first 2 selections were DPP(Martin + Dixon) , so I was actually a little
surprised to find only 1 more DPP. 3 players returning from LTIs: Suckling,
McIntosh and Morabito. The Smugglers also managed to fit Kurt Tippett into
their budget and their rookie selection Dom Tyson should get a lot of game
    time.

    [span style='line-height: 115%; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #000000;]Players: Pick 15: Dustin Martin (22, 102, F/M), Pick 22:
    Charlie Dixon (23, 90, R/F), Pick 51: Matt Suckling (25, N/A, D), Pick 58: Jack
    Redden (23, 98, M), Pick 87: Dyson Heppell (21, 91, M), Pick 94: Kurt Tippett
    (26, 90, F), Pick 123: Hamish Hartlett (23, 91, M), Pick 130: Jarrod Harbrow
    (25, 83, D), Pick 159: Brett Goodes (29, 91, D), Pick 166: Andrew Gaff (21, 71,

    [span style='line-height: 115%; font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #000000;]First pick was an auto-pick (Ryan Griffen) who averaged
116 last year; also the Whalers have the oldest player selected with Boomer
Harvey. The Whalers have also covered all 4 DPP positions and 2 top 10s from
the 2014 draft (Boyd and Aish). But with the oldest side, the time is now!

    [span style='line-height: 115%; font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #000000;]An old-school powerhouse side; 8 top 100 players, 6 of
them being pure mids but with Bob Murphy out injured the backline may become a
concern. With Tom Nicholls and Trent Cotchin set to add durability to the
Barracudas I can see some great things coming.

[span style='line-height: 115%; font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #000000;]The Goannas have got a strong peak with Dane Swan and
Kieran Jack, further down the list are some future talent with Rich and Ward.
Their ruck has Sandilands and Hampson as backup but interestingly no 2014 draft

rise, maybe: only 1 player from the top 100 in 2013 (Nat Fyfe). Dale Thomas and
Buddy should be key players in their new clubs and Jack Martin looks to be the
future star for the Gropers. Patty Ryder should also get plenty of games as
    Essendon's R1.

Collingwood duo Beams + Sidebottom who could very well be the next Swan +
Pendles. With a forward line that will improve and trick those relying on 2013
averages, and Mike Pyke in the ruck for now, the Parasites are not to be
    underestimated.

finally settled on has the highest 2013 average with 9 top 100 players (only 4
of those mids). The fact that Mick picked no players from the 2014 draft
suggests the Blowflies are in it to win this year, and Sloane and Clarke add

immediately when they see the Crocs' team, but there's more to it than that.
The Crocs have got the lowest average age of any team, a ‘mosquito fleet' of

Fresh either has lots of faith in Dayle Garlett or he intends to pick forwards
    in the next draft.
