Quick survey of everyone, I remember someone mentioning trading a player auction style. Basically putting up a post where other teams submit their best offers for a player, and committing to doing the best deal at the end of a certain time period. It feels like a good way to either get great value or really poor value for a player. Not to mention it feels a bit like a dick move, what do people think?
Not sure if that will work. I could put rockliff up. Hate to have to commit if only offer I get is some no hoper for him.
We have an auction setup in ORFFA. It works ok, but its not everyones cup of tea. We have come up with basic rules that everyone abides by to ensure its fair and with integrity. Check it out here: http://tooserious.net/forum/threads/2016-pre-season-auction-thread.89255/
Hey mate, sorry i never got to this until now. Ive had a bit on my plate the last few days. It raises another important point that ice been meaning to propose, so ill do that in the rules thread shortly. Firstly, I'll get a poll going about auctions
Ive transfered some of the recent discussion about this to this new thread. Everyone should vote in the poll. Ive set the poll to close on Monday evening.
Auctions were set up in the ORFFA because someone traded Nick Naitanui for next to nothing and the rest of the league thought at the same time "I could have offered more than that" How do you reckon that team went after getting rid of NicNat? They went and won the FA premiership a year or so later!
This poll has now closed. 7 have voted in favour of auctions (58%) 4 have voted against with 1 person openly choosing not to vote. I have thought a lot about this today, as I wasn't sure we should go with it when 4 have stated they don't want to, but considering anyone could potentially choose not to participate in the auctions, and more importantly that there were more than 50% of voters voting in favour of them, I think its fair enough that we should go with it and have auctions. I have set up some rules for auctions in the ORFFF, based on the ORFFA rules. I'll set up an auction thread now. @ViQBoZ go nuts
