I will confirm if the reserve is met and then there will be 24 hours from that declaration. The Cows put up for auction ]Nathaniel Fyfe (Freemantle Dockers)a midfielder who might have M/F status in 2016 (there are no guarantees or warranties as to SC status in 2016 and beyond). Nat is arguably among the better players in the AFL and may well win the Charles Brownlow Medal this year. An opportunity such as this is rare in a keeper league and I would encourage you to consider making a bid. I will not present statistics or analysis as I assume you are familiar with the player. I might as well kick it off. I'll bid: Taylor Walker (Ade) 25yo Fwd, 83.2 SC & Andrew Mackie (Gee) 31yo Def, 88.2 SC & Mason Cox (Col) 24yo Ruck For Fyfe... and you can throw in an extra player or two as well if you want, but not necessary. Graeme, I take it from your comments that CR's bid was better than mine in your opinion. I will improve my bid for you. Im not sure what aspects of my offer you would like and what you would not, so I'll give you some options. I'll now bid: Jeremy Cameron (GWS) or Taylor Walker (Ade) - both forwards & Lyndon Dunn (Mel) or Andrew Mackie (Gee) - both defenders & Mason Cox (Col) - Ruck & 2016 PSD pick 10 1 forward,1 defender, 1 ruck and pick 10. You select which fwd and which def. Very nice effort ant but the D's are way too old. Inject Brodie Smith and we may be close to a deal. how about... Jeremy Cameron (GWS) or Taylor Walker (Ade) & Mason Cox (Col) & 2016 PSD pick 10 & 25 yo Zach Tuohy (Car) - 2015 AFLCA All Australian:http://www.aflca.com.au/fileadmin/use...
I'd love to throw a stone into the pond my friend, but I'm 2-3 years away from a player like Fyfe being the difference to my premiership chances. Now if you would consider Jordan Bourke, Partick Karnezis and my 6th round pick I'd gladly offer it... that's nearly as a good a deal as the Torres trade
Hi Graeme, I might as well have a crack as well. Leuenberger Rioli Hartlett or you can take one of those out and a throw in my first PSD pick. Thanks
After some hopefully mature reflection I have decided to withdraw Nat from the auction arena. The principle reasons are: (i) The Brownlow speech was so cool, I want to hear next year's speech with him as a cow; (ii) He reckons he can get better - I do not want to doubt him; (iii) In a strange way the injury concern seems to have been resolved by the fracture and the need for surgery. I was genuinely nervous about how many games he would play next year. I may be wrong, but I feel more confident; (iv) SC status is not yet available - it is very hard, harder than I had imagined, to evaluate an offer when you do not know what position a player will be in next year (and the longer future); (v) The possibility that the afl might put an end to Lyonitis (resting of players during ORFFA finals) by having a one week hiatus between the end of the home and away series and the start of the finals. Thank you to everyone who made (or even though about making)]a bid.
I thought bama's bid was quite strong. Rule's committee, please take a look at withdrawing from auctions from both parties. I mean, theoretically, I could put in a bid of GAJ x 3 and, when accepted, withdraw it. Conversely, I could be interested in the probable market value of one of my players and simply stick him out there to see what is offered, then withdraw. Up to the powers that be, but I would favour no withdrawal from either party allowed, if auctions are to continue to be a feature of ORFFA.
Fitzy hasn't posted the rules in the OP, I've addressed that. We already have a rule that says you can't pull a player or pick. We also have a rule that says only the person doing the selling can call reserve, so I guess you keep him up there Graham and people can keep making imaginary bids on him.. In all honesty, I didn't bid because I felt it extremely unlikely he'd be sold anyway, sometimes a fisherman looks like a fisherman
I reckon i'll reserve my opinion on this one, given that I (ignorantly) broke the rules only 10 days ago. I will admit that my decision was based around mitigating further demoralisation as opposed to cold feet. Anyways, rules are rules, i'll leave it to the rest of yall to determine our fate (fyi - i'm not fond of stonings).
OK Len, will do as requested. Please disregard my post time stamped Yesterday@9:57pm - the Nat Fyfe auction will continue until 7 pm AEST on Friday the second of October 2015.
Considering the hash I've made of a couple of auctions in the past, reckon we are all friends here ... a bit of a misunderstanding/rethink between friends isn't the end of the world. That said, maybe a reminder of the rules is timely.

All good Graham, I am not immune to a bout of forgetfulness myself I loved it, it created some real interest and activity, never a bad thing , and most importantly you do get to decide if the bid meets your needs. As I said, I never thought it would, I don't believe he was ever seriously for sale, but, I applaud the listing, we need more excitement

I remember rules around if a bid is made, that the bid cannot be withdrawn before there is a response on it. which is fair enough. ]However, i don't remember any rules ever being that an auction couldn't be called off early, however my recollection could be wrong. ] ]FWIW, I have no problem with auctions being called off early if reserve has not been met. ] ] ]

Before this season, he only played less than 20 games in a season once (19 in 2011) since Hawthorn beat Geelong in the 2008 grand final. He ranked in the top 20 defenders in the whole AFL for 2015. In return, I'm looking for a 1st 15 player aged 24-25 in any position, except forward. Or a high draft pick. or both. Not sure how long this will run for. Lets see how it goes. <div> Im going to pull this auction. If anyone wants Mackie, please enquire privately. He is still available. OK, Im putting Mackie back on the table, up for auction! As per the rules, I will now set a closing time for this auction of 2:30am Melbourne time on Sunday October 4th, if such a time exists.

I must have forgotten those rules.

Im sure some sort of joke could have been made of my offer, with an American and an Irishman both involved, not to mention the choice of a Texan Walker or a Jeremy Cameron. <div>
Argh - missed the comment that Fyfe was up for auction again. I'd been so proud of resisting the temptation to throw half my team away in a trade for him ... now the itchy compulsive trade trigger finger is being tied up and thrown away into a hessian bag in a bid to resist the re-submitted auction. Damn damn damn
