Just so everyone is on the same wavelength, the Powlett Plains Packers franchise has been officially taken over by the artist (sorry, coach) formerly known as Philosoraptor.

RUMOUR HAS IT............ that Packer management may be cutting ties with Chris Newman after the veteran player was unable to secure a regular game. Also TMZ reports that Nick Riewoldt and Adam Goodes have allegedly had a falling out with Buddy.

The dust settles after an interesting trade season, and a new young and developing Packer squad emerges. Still to be strengthened via the draft, the Packers have made their intentions clear that while many young players will be blooded throughout the season, winning is paramount. Current best 15 is as follows: Backs: Brendan Goddard, Harry O'Brien, Marley Williams, Troy Chaplin Midfield: Luke Hodge, Luke Ball, Toby Greene, David Armitage Ruck: Brodie Grundy Forwards: Lachie Henderson, Thomas Lynch (GCS), Adam Goodes, Alex Fasolo Interchange: Billie Smedts, Tom Scully Others: Steven May Claye Beams Taylor Hunt Jesse Stringer Daniel Gorringe Mark Blicavs Taylor Garner Rhys Stanley Sam Colquhoun Chris Newman Current Delistees: Ben Rutten Shane Tuck Andrew Krakouer Picks: 32 44 67 85 103 121 139
Newly minted Packer Brendan 'BJ' Goddard has signaled that he is unhappy with the youth movement at the club. Therefore he will become available for a draft pick in the preseason draft, upon the trade period opening on 17/1/14.
TBH that's something I anticipated so it's more so I have had a better analysis of the draftees thus looking to move up into first round.
Always a starter for a good BJ Raptor - and the Don's best and fairest does appeal. Reckon I can help down back and perhaps even in the draft. Please do not trade without assessing a deal from the east of the mainland.

As I mentioned in another thread somewhere - I'd welcome the chance to pitch a bit for Mr Goddard to find his way to lovely fields of Darraweit (despite his advancing age). My first round draft pick would be up for discussion amongst other draft picks.
Good Morning. After 2 straight victories to open the season, the Packers have now lost 4 games in a row. However the young and developing list is not disheartened as there is a thorough process in place that will generate success in the near future. Our young core. Last week showed what our 2014 first pick James Aish was capable of when he punished the opposition with a score of 144. James will be a building block going forward, along with other young midfielders such as Toby Greene, Tom Scully and Nathan Freeman. The midfield is where we plan on strengthening further going forward. We are very pleased with our forward line performance this season, and also excited at their future possibilities. List Management has put together a group that will be dynamic for years to come: Lachie Henderson, Tom Lynch of the Suns (coming off a career high 5 goals), Brandon Matera and Alex Fasolo will be a unique and effective 4 going forward. Down back our rocks both now and going forward will be Steven May and Heritia Lumumba. They will be ably supported by Marley Williams and Tom Cutler, the latter being impressive in his initial games with the club. Later this season we look forward to seeing the potential of Billy Smedts and Clay Beams become reality. And who could forget the MAN CHILD Brodie Grundy, whose ample shoulders will hold up our ruck division for the next decade. Peace and Love.
