@ Bearfly, I'm interested in Punters Club as well, sounds like another great reason to keep the radio on a Saturday arvo.

Bear I'm in and if we need more numbers I have 3 blokes in my SC cash league who wanted to start a punters club a while back but I never told them about TS although I think they may pass by from time to time.

I've been a fly on the wall recently but not a joiner-in but would still like to be a part of it, if numbers are required. But understand if you already have the numbers.

Not a problem fellas, the more interest we can get the better.

Am close to completing a bit of research and will provide some info probably early next week if I can.

And don't be shy about contributing to this thread either - don't need to be by way of tips, let us know how you do with your punts - had quite an interesting day personally today, $25 win on each of Luke's Courage $3.80 fixed & Keepher Close $3.00 fixed @ Geelong where the bookies took a hammering with favoured runners getting up all over the place - then on top of those two had a couple of good scores @ Kembla with $10 E/W on both Speed Queen $9.50 fixed & The Conqueror $8.00 fixed and the icing on the cake @ Wellington with $10 E/W on Squire Ted paying me a very healthy $16.50 fixed.
Definitely finished with a healthy profit on the day with those 5 from my 8 bets!!!
All these straight off my Black Book list :)

Good job there, BF. I've been keeping an eye out over the last few weeks and you seem to have a pretty good strike rate. Hope to get some of it although 3hrs time difference can be a bit of a problem sometimes. It'll be a lot easier when I'm back in Oz at the end of the month.

BALLARAT RACE SEVEN:# 2 Forrest sky
    Good E/w bet currently 13/1
The bog track expected for Ballarat is going to sort out the mudders from the shirkers on Thursday - and hopefully (2) Forest Sky will be in the former bracket in race 7, a Country Showcase hdcp BM72 1400m. He's an eachway special.

Forest Sky, from Tasmania, ran 3rd/12 Echuca 1400m in BM72 on June 25 when having his second Victorian outing. He has a sound record in Taqssie with 3 wins from 5 tries at 1400m. He's had one run on slow going and won. The 4YO gets in with 57kgs after the claim for his apprentice rider.

Forrest sky no good, was boxed in 3 wide most of the race, bloody tasmanians!
As for grafton different story, R4 results had #5 blinking swift 1st And Ibalance 3rd. If u had box the field for 2nd as I did, it cost $24 with a return of 356.
Grafton R6 results 1st #3 shamardashing, 3rd #2 warrior within. Box the field for 2nd and the tri paid 123

Pretty good effort there mate - I combined your picks with those from my ratings subscription to smash the exactas and trifectas in all 3 of those races :D

Can't believe nobody but my ratings guru gave Saint Encosta a show in the Grafton Cup, had some solid form in harder races under the belt!!!

Excuse me for asking a stupid question, but what is a ratings subscription? Is this a list compiled by someone rating each horse against the others on the basis of races/opposition it has had previously?

Pretty much the basis of it Fish.

Many providers of this type of service out there, but it is something that's commonly out of reach for the average punter (often these services can cost thousands a year to subscribe to).

The best ratings services I have found over the years are those that also factor into their calculations that most horses tend to run to patterns (such as 1st up/2nd up/3rd up performers - those who do well early in their preparations - course/distance specialists, etc).

A good value ratings service I have come across recently that doesn't price themselves out of the market can be found at www.winnersofoz.com.au - $20 a month for approximately 7-9 meetings a week over 5-6 days is good value - even better value at $60 for 6 months.
They generally rate 5 horses per race in every race of the meetings they cover and have had a very good strike rate with exactas, trifectas, winners at decent prices (overlays - which is horses paying over the rated price).
They're definitely worth checking out for anyone interested in this type of service.

    Onto this weeks racing now!!!

I will post this week's tips sometime during this evening's game - however, I have come up with one from my Black Book who should run a good race at a decent price.

Caulfield race 4 #1 Royal Mail - 2 wins & a 3rd from 3 starts 2nd up; 1 win & 2 3rds from 3 starts over this course & distance; handles wet tracks; loves the 2000 metres and performs well at Caulfield.
Dangers look to be #2 Sister Norma, #4 Manilla Jewell, #5 Shiny Buttons, #9 Storm Burst - but also keep an eye on #7 Epingle from the Mick Kent stable, Nolen has jumped off Storm Burst after winning last start to ride this one so could be worth a saver - I reckon could go close to snaring the trifecta with those 6!!!
