Quote from bolts on April 3, 2012, 08:16 Hey folks, long time listner, first time poster here. I put my first too serious post up yesterday and now my email account is flooded with emails from too serious. Can anyone tell me how to stop getting emails from too serious advising me that another response to the thread has been made? I had a look in profiles but could see nothing with this option. Any help much appreciated.
Hey bolts, it took me a while as well but if you go to your profile and where your photo appears click on edit. At the bottom of the page that comes up you should find this: Competition Reminders via Email: - Would you like to recieve competition reminders for the various competitions we run in these parts? Just uncheck the box and you should be sweet.
Thanks choppers all sorted. I thought i had contracted some sort of too serious virus for a minute then when all those messages popped up Best of luck with your team this year.
Haha yea I'll never learn!! I'll go through my list and see how many I have when I get home but firstly what constitutes a mid ranger in each position? Cos apart from Parker & McCarthy not sure I have any other real "midpricers". Is Porps a midpricer? He is cheaper then Patton who is a "rookie". Only other one is probably Dangerman. Nowhere near amount I had last season..
Midpricer is not properly defined. But here is how I would define things: Mids/Rucks: 600k+ = True Premium 500k-600k = Pseudo Premium 200k-500k = Mid pricer 120k-200k = Upper Rookie <120k = Lower Rookie Backs/Forwards: 500k+ = True Premium 450k-500k = Pseudo Premium 200k-450k = Mid pricer 120k-200k = Upper Rookie <120k = Lower Rookie
Midpriced strategy.... as an avid gambler, I always consider the strategy... but even that is tooooo risky for me!

Yes porps is comparable to some rookies, but those ones are priced out of selection IMO anyway. So looks like you have at least 4 mate IMO anyway.

SKT, by my reckoning U Were DEMPSTERED has plenty of mid-pricers: Hanley Hurn Heppell McCarthy Parker Dangerfield Porplyzia
I disagree, $450K isnt a midpricer in backline. Ill cop McCarthy, Parker, Dangermouse & Porps but not the 3 H's

Quote from Jason on April 4, 2012, 07:30 I much prefer the set of definitions that Lucas used for his series of articles to your list here.
Lucas's definitions are far more theoretical. You can't just look at a player and tell if they are in the top x% are but if you translate those rules into rough dollar amounts then it is more transparent and user friendly. Also I think 8 categories is too many. For strategic purposes, Lucas's 3 midpriced categories can be combined. People consider GnR vs GMR, nobody compares a upper mid strategy to a lower mid strategy, either way they aren't premiums nor rookies.
