Captain sandilands anyone ? He will have a world record hit outs this week redden was ports only chance
so is pfeiffer playing for port or sanfl??? Because that just rubs salt into the wounds!! Traded him in last week for smith, Is Redden confirmed or port playing games??
Why are the crap teams so adverse to trying new / young players? No Redden again. No Couch. Voss has a track record of not playing kids regular games, so watch this space on Zorko and Longer's longevity. Dickson and Smith not getting back-to-back games at the kennel. These teams are crap, already need to be looking 2 or 3 years down the track, but not playing the kids! GCS and GWS will sail right past Port, Melbourne, Brisbane and the Doggies and wave at them in the rearview mirror.
Pfeiffer plays for Norwood in the SANFL A word of warning, do not pay any attention to the SANFL team lists when they are announced on Thursday afternoon. They always have all players who are in the 25 man squad for the 2 AFL teams here in Adelaide missing from their team list. You always have to wait until Friday night to see who made the final 22 for the AFL team. Having said all that, most Port supporters were hoping that Redden was going to play for Port in the AFL. We need 2 ruckman this week against Sandi. It was mentioned on local tv here in Adelaide that Pfeiffer would not be travelling with the team to Perth.
Agreed Corks, it's maddness, can understand teams like West Coast not wanting to change an unbeaten side, but the crap teams need to send some of their underperforming regulars to the reserves & give the kids a run. The Suns & Giants will sail past the latter mentioned 4 & might not even have to wait until next year to do it, am even thinking of putting a few small wagers on Port, Melb, Bris & the dogs for this years spoon at the current huge odds on offer, the way their lists are being managed it's not all that far fetched.

Quote from Corks on May 10, 2012, 21:21 Why are the crap teams so adverse to trying new / young players? No Redden again.
A little bit harsh there mate. Look back to last year and count the amount of players who made their debut for Port and then tell me they were averse to blooding new players!!! I will tell you now, it was 6 debutants - Butcher, Jacobs, O'Shea, Pittard, Irons & Jonas for a combined total of 54 games. In 6 games so far in 2012 there is another 3 debutants already - Redden, Wingard & Young. And if you also take into account Banner, Hitchcock, Lobbe, Moore, D.Stewart & Trengove all debuting in 2010, that's 15 players in those 50 games!!! Now I would not call that being averse to trying/blooding young players, would you? As for Redden, I honestly didn't think he would get picked this week (even though I would've liked him to). It needs to be remembered that he carried the ruck for Port right through the pre-season, then the first 3 games before being forced out with fatigue after battling through first with gastro then a touch of flu-like virus. He missed 2 weeks of all footy then played SANFL last week where he rotated between ruck & full forward. Patience people, patience.
Dogs have given their first games in red-white-and-blue already this year to Dickson, Austin, Veszpremi, Smith and Djerrkura plus have named two further debutants in Roberts and Pearce on an extended bench this week. Corks' grip on facts probably not the best.
I would be rapt if we could get three games and another $100k out of the big fella before R13. Then he can be a downgrade to Staley, as Roughie becomes my F6 / R3.
