I won't comment on this strategy's merit, flawed or otherwise, but Carlton have been doing the same thing for the same reasons in their three games so far.

    First Lucas.
    Then Armfielld.
    Collins?

Not a large enough sample to be called a trend though.

And not really SC relevant given the players concerned.

Agree with Eleviathan. with Richardson spudding it up and Mzunga & Callihan out forward rookies are thin on the ground (Fast fattening cows that is)

Other than Tapscott and Darling, currently can't see too many good alternative rookies in the fwds from other clubs - just have to wait and hope Mzungu and Callinan make miraculous recoveries??!! Are there any 'under the radar' type fwd rookies on peoples watch lists?</blockquote>

A strong potential future downgrade target for your forwards could be Butcher from Port - has been putting in strong efforts in the SANFL with the Magpies, taking quite a few marks (several contested)in the two games so far & the pre-season.
Also contested well in NAB challenge match against the Tigers in Alice Springs.
Although Port have said he's not quite ready yet, there is a chance he'll be given a go sometime in the next month or so considering the underperforming forward line.
Possibility - I'll keep an eye on him over the next few weeks!

What do you guys reckon of trading in Curnow after his astronomical price rise?

I finally saw him play on tv and he did look impressive.

    Is he Barlow Mk 2??

Yes if you can afford him, but that's a tough thing because it often precipitates making another trade you otherwise wouldn't make.

Yeah i have Gaff but he sits on my bench because he has been a sub for three weeks in a row. I'm hoping Woosha, starts him this week down at Tassie.

I have Toy on Def Bench along with A Otten, i can't afford to have him on the ground. I already have Duigan in to cover Goddard.
I'm looking to get Brodie Smith for Otten at the moment due to more cash to be made in the long run.
