I have a feeling that I may have changed Jonas' position in my team after the game started tonight, as I was unaware the game had an early start. I'll change Jonas back to his original position in TS Leagues and in my post below/above

Given the Crows Cays game has been cancelled, what are the contingencies for those with players not playing. Unfair those who have affected players cop zeroes ..rather exceptional circumstances
I presume that we would go with the Supercoach ruling, which hasn't been given yet I believe. I am not affected by the game so perhaps my opinion can't be counted
I'm probably more affected than most by the game cancellation, but as we have seen today, there are more important things than fantasy football. I don't know what the ruling will be Supercoach wise but am happy to go with whatever (even if it results in 4-5 donuts for the Chooks). My suggestion is that every named Geelong and Adelaide player who was going to be playing this week gets their average for the round. I don't know if/how that could be coded in.

I agree Chief, so many more important things than fantasy footy. Whatever is decided I will go with, I'm a very proud Geelong support and am happy that the AFL has made the decision that they have not to go ahead with the game.

Any Crows or Cats player who was named in their team gets their average.

Happy to go with the ORFFA decision on how to handle the ancillary problems generated by such a sad event. The SC average is already part of each players' record in Walesy's system so am guessing that it feasible to code it in. If it requires manual loading I am more than happy to be involved. Not that keen on munching up to four doughnuts despite the practice I got in the bloody bye rounds.
I'm not sure about giving players points they haven't earned. To use Joel Selwood as an example, he has averaged 96. He's hit 96 4 times in 12 games. Also being a Sunday game, teams weren't finalised, so we aren't even sure of who would have played. Would prefer a 12 player lineup instead of 15 or something like that, or probably the more realistic decision for Walesy is to score zeros. Unless there is a way to manually input the scores and adjust points for and against, and ladder percentages, if you think it's fair to have averages count. I have mentioned that I am not too effected by this game, but neither is my opponent.
There are swings and roundabouts Prap. Take J Bartel average this year 47.5 - even in his comeback game I would have backed him to record a score greater than his average - it is not a cruise. Or, in the Cow's case I was rubbing my hands together at the prospect of Sauce Jacobs playing Dawson Simpson and third man up Blicavs. Any system we agree on will have holes in it. Asking someone to take a zero because a game was cancelled in the current circumstances is very harsh. Sure some might have been able to garner a score greater than zero by playing an inferior player rather than their preferred player, but is that fair? It is not as though (in my case) Sauce was not picked and by the way his emergency cover was Dawson Simpson.
Granted it is a different competition, but FWIW AFL Fantasy has just made the ruling that all players named in the 25 man squads will receive their average this week.
ChiefRussell wrote: Granted it is a different competition, but FWIW AFL Fantasy has just made the ruling that all players named in the 25 man squads will receive their average this week. I would say that this is fairer than some players earning points and others getting averages, but I wouldn't copy anything AFL Fantasy does Chels, yes it is harsh. Harsh in terms of playing a fantasy game anyway. But I would say it's 'unfair' to score a player points they haven't earned too. Averages also doesn't address the squads not being finalised, nor the workload of fixing it all. I simply believe the practical decision is zeroes. It's a harsh world in Powlett.
I will always respect your opinion Prap. We have adopted a more touchy, feely approach to life in the Waikick - Bulls area. Might just explain why we are not scoring at the same rate as previous seasons!
