No vultures or cockies teams in on time. Personally I don't have an issue with either lodging a team tonight in this instance, but without any Richmond or Essendon players, regardless of status.. Been really busy with school work lately and actually went to the footy tonight, got to the ground and realised I had forgotten, went to text Lenny to enter the same team from last week but I was out of credit!! Will enter team now without bombers/tigers players, thanks!

The teams from Lovely Banks and Darraweit have clearly decided to not play by mutual agreement, as between Caddy (sub), Carlisle (spud, injured), Ballantyne (injured), McPharlin (injured), Westhoff (injured, subbed) and Gibson (no need for defenders against Melbourne) most of our players have gone off for an end of season wine or three. If it wasn't for Ben McGlynn, neither team would have scored. Meanwhile, my defence is held together by a staple and sticky tape. Serious serious issues in the leadup to finals with no Walker, McPharlin, Seedsman, etc.

Well, I reckon my finals campaign might be done - I've lost 4 defenders in 2 weeks - Walker, Seedsman, McPharlin (again last night) and now Otten (who has apparently done his knee). I'm now out of defenders - only have three fit playing backmen pretty much for the rest of the year. I can't believe this crappy luck - haven't had a fit team on the park all year, and then when I finally get a couple of guys back, 4 defenders go down injured. I guess I know my trading priorities for the coming little while....

It's an awful feeling when you realise you can't scrounge a full team up for sure, the Misfit's have done it enough, could see as many as 10 changes in the off-season depending on positional outcomes, but we will definitely grab a few of the journeyman types that play every week without starring, probably at the expense of a few development spots. Would be worse for you to have done the run into the finals and then be unable to field one for sure..

Would be worse for you to have done the run into the finals and then be unable to field one for sure.. It is annoying - worst thing is I could've played it safe at midseason and picked a defender who was going to play every week and score OK, but instead thought - 'No, need to pick a younger developing guy who'll be good next year'. I got to the mid-year draft and given all the injuries I'd had in the first half of the year I actually had almost given up on 2014 because I simply couldn't get even a 3/4 strength team on the park with 4-6 first 15 players injured at any one time. Thus I picked for next year when I grabbed Jed Bews over someone like Pedersen. Then I get a few guys back - Maric, Rance, Gibson, Seedsman, Otten ... Betts starts killign it, McGlynn plays well,Coniglio, Nic Nat and Tyson hit their straps, even Walters might come back after being out the whole year - all of a sudden the team starts humming along really well. But I'm also left with Jed Bews - Bews will probably be good next year, but he ain't going to help me now! Then the circle turned again - Walker, Coniglio, Otten, McPharlin, Seedsman, Cooney all get injured. Gibson lacks a gallop, Hill's form has faded a bit. Again I can't get a full strength side on the park. It is weird how it has all gone. I guess one thing is that I know what my trade and draft targets will be because unfortunately Otten will have to go if he has done his ACL, and McPharlin now looks like he'll retire given his run with injuries. So I'll be down 2-3 defenders! Just disappointing it has happened now - I'll have to find a midfielder to fill in in defence for the rest of the year.

Even tho he's had his own injury troubles, including a concussion this week, I can't help but think of Trent McKenzie helping you out mate. I imagine you are more than happy with McGlynn tho mate.

1 Hale LLL Thanks Len. My boys had everything to play for and delivered their best of the season. True Lefties, Priddis and Lewis shone in the mid field for BOG performances. Honorable mention goes to Tom Lynch how churned out 83 in a quarter and a half of footy, before running off 'Benny Hill style' across the ground chasing a couple of scantily-clad nurses. Thankfully, we have yet again avoided the shit stick (sorry sNoZ).

Spelunkers lose the last 4 to finish 7th... and I have a feeling we might be up against Jimbo again next week for another colonoscopy.

Poor Trent has had a couple of hiccups along the way in recent weeks ... we'd love to have him in the squad right now, but it is always a balancing act as well! That said, Cooney's 140 as an emergency this week might seem him play OOP defence through the finals. And given Collingwood's loss on the weekend, Seedsman might be rushed back into the side sooner than expected. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. But crappy fortune up back for the Blimps ATM.

Final round win to the Guim over Lovely Banks. Neither team particularly impressive it has to be said, though the Lilacs have been smashed by injuries over the past 4 weeks - which is a shame. My best player for the week sat on the bench (Cooney), while my best scoring player was McGlynn. Betts continues great year. Defenders were down on performance and in number, with injuries all over the place. Les W votes: 5 - McGlynn DGD 4 - Betts DGD 3 - Goddard DGD (due to team win) 2 - Chapman LLL 1 - Harvey DGD
