Oh crap, Lachie Hunter got a late callup? Bugger it. His sub score is going to replace McPharlin's 70 ... Hope he kicks 3 winning goals. Hmmm, this probably won't apply again in coming couple of seasons, but can we maybe have a chat as a league to decide if there should be a split lockout for any round where we don't know full lineups at the time of the first game. It allows us to have all the lineups known and therefore all knowledge we need to put our best team on the park. I named Lachie Hunter but didn't have the chance to alter him off the field once he wasn't named in the Dogs original 22. Of course naming him I at my own risk, but and I have no problems with that. But given the AFLs obsession with games all across the week, do we need to think about a rule to address this?

I add of course that the Cowkickers have the Blimps cold so there's no issue in terms of this influencing the result. That would be BS. But more a point to put forward for discussion or consideration.

A bit, but good to see the Nuffas up and about, I thought they were a basket case at the start of the year, Andy has done a great job to recover from the hiding CD positional changes gave him, besides I beat him to the draft table in a few weeks now, though hopefully for the last time :)

Thanks Len. Scraped over the line, just like the Blues did yesterday. I must admit that the Nuffers are doing better than I imagined they would.

In yet another closeRound 6 gameCradle Mountain defeated Larrikin Lagoon by 37 with midfielder Nick Robertson playing as an out of position Leftiesforward proving costly, resulting in his score of 74 being halved, if his full scorecounted we would have had a rare draw in the ORFFA. Larrikin Lagoonwon the battle between the forward lines and defenses however Cradle Mountain won the three remaining lines. Whilst several stars from both sides fired there were some surprises in the Les W. Medal votes with Lefties forward Tom Lynch being best on ground with 128 points and Devils ruckman Trent West getting three votes for his score of 121. The Devils midfield were dominant with all four scoring tons to combine for 473 points to the Lefties 380, three Cradle Mountain midfielders featured in the votes, Pendlebury (124), Heppell (120) and Redden (119), with the latter receiving one voteby winning a tie-breaker for the second week in a row, this time against Lefties midfielder Matt Priddis. Up until this week Priddis had the best record in the ORRFA of winning tie-breaks, having won three this season against his team-mates. The Devils have some work to do in the forward line, losing this line by 86 points 334 to 248, and will welcome the return of Adam Schneider from suspension for the Round 7 match against Marble Bar. In previous seasons the Devils have had a poor record in close games but have shown greater composure or had more luck (take your pick) this year to win threegames by under 100 points being,10 points, 37points and 99 points, benefitting in the last two games from the oppostion not being able to field 15 in position players. Whilst Larrikin Lagoondidn't get the win they can return home with confidence after recording their highest score of the season by virtue of a consistant perfomance from the 15 players, the only sub 55 score being the result of an OOP.The Leftiesmedical team will be working overtimeto insure that injured forward Angus Monfries recovers and can playin the final game before the mid-season break againstVenus Bay. Thanks Len. Scraped over the line, just like the Blues did yesterday. I must admit that the Nuffers are doing better than I imagined they would. Did you have an oop Andy? tsleagues has the Misfits winning 1202 to 1168, the sheet I was tracking it on is very rough and doesn't check for any incorrect positions etc..

Just checked it, Len. Correct weight. Lester was oop. Need to get some forwards in the MSD. Got Sylvia and Rhys Palmer in PSD and so far they have given me a combined total of 8 points.

    Darraweit's visit to Bulls was a bit of a hit with locals. Les W points: 5 - Hannebery 138 4 - Dal Santo 135 3 - Fyfe 134 2 - Hibberd 124 1 - McVeigh 113 Looks good? Have a look at TiB's Warriors' four midfielders scoring 499. That is serious.

Review up - http://tooserious.net/forum/Home/tabid/90/Post/6953/The-Winners-ORFFA-Round-6-Review Congrats Chels on the win as well - now I finally have proper web access after a weekend away it would be remiss not to say! Just a note again - did we have any thoughts on the need for a round like this (first games played before final line-ups of later games finalised) to be a rolling or split lockout? Should we consider putting in such a rolling lockout for any round where the first game is played before all final 22 person teams are named and confirmed? Just putting it out there for conversation. Meanwhile Darraweit has a tough one next week against Wagga. Hoping to get some depth back, but will need more than just depth to catch the marsupials, who are in good form right now.

Les W. Medal votes <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]5 T Lynch (128) LLL <p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]4 S Pendlebury (124) CMD

Obviously Lynch and Garlett wr highlights but most encouraging was the consistency in def A killer midfield and a monster from West too much to match

Chris, re 'Just a note again - did we have any thoughts on the need for a round like this (first games played before final line-ups of later games finalised) to be a rolling or split lockout? Should we consider putting in such a rolling lockout for any round where the first game is played before all final 22 person teams are named and confirmed?'
I think we had a set of 'perfect storm' conditions, and I hate to say it, playing a game in Wellington with an early time zone might have been a factor. The big problem for mine was that ANZAC day fell on a Friday. We did not factor in the early starts and late team declarations. I think any day (other than a Saturday or Sunday) would have led the FIXtures Committee to declare it a rolling lockout round as we did with Easter. If I have that wrong I trust someone else from the committee will correct me. I have a mental file note to follow this through for the rest of 2014 and subsequent seasons.

Yes, I think that's pretty much where we stood Chels. JC checked back over previous seasons to see what the precedent was and found we had part rolling lockouts when there was a game prior to Friday, but that we did not accommodate rounds that had Monday games in the same fashion. So there have been several ORFFA rounds which included a Monday AFL game where we did not know final benches for all games prior to lockout. This round last week was an anomaly again because there were not any AFL games before Friday or after Sunday, but we still didn't know Sunday's final teams because they were announced a few hours after the first game started. I did not have much to do with the decision myself, but/and I believe the FIXture committee made the right decision to have just one lockout at the start of the first game this round. IMO, I think it's best we just have 1 lockout per round, but I understand how it can work well to have more than 1 lockout if they all fall on weekdays. I am not in favour of having lockouts on weekends and/or public holidays, where possible.

Are we re-writing history now as well?
