(I think) the Battlers finished up with 1359. D: Luke Ryan 131, Adam Cerra 72, Alex Witherden 170, Luke McDonald 136 M: Adam Treloar 103, Bailey Smith 76, Dom Sheed 135, Tom Cutler 58 R: Jarrod Witts 74 F: Blake Acres DNP, James Rowbottom 92, Eric Hipwood 53, Matthew Taberner 103 (Harry McKay 66) IC: Josh Battle 60, Ryan Clarke 30
Cradle Mountain Devils Round 9 score 1290 Def: M Hurley 87, D Talia 66, J Lever 106, A Keath 38 (J Walker) Mid: J Steele 129, D Zorko 81, J Hopper 134, Z Jones 123 (D Zaharakis) Ruc: T English 50 Fwd: L Breust 78, T Lynch 78, J Gresham 110, T Membrey 51 (H Himmelberg) Int: R Marshall 90, I Soldo 69 (J Mahony) Cradle Mountain had a much stronger second half to the game and finished with a score of 1,290 - two points more than they managed last round so are now performing at a consistent level. Whilst the Devils only had key defenders available for selection at least they could field four players in position on that line. By my calculations the Lefties scored 988 playing 1.5 defenders short, having two in position defenders supported by Rankine played out of position. Five Devils with J as one of their initials scored tons - Jacob (Hopper), Jack (Steele), Jade (Gresham), Jake (Lever) and Jones (Zak). None of the 10 CMD players who don't have J as one of their initials scored a ton. All five ton scoring J's were recruited by the Devils at pre-season drafts from 2014 to 2016, Jack and Jake were the clubs first two selections in 2015, Jacob and Jade were the Devils first two selections in 2016 whilst Jones is the odd one out having been CMD's fourth selection in 2014 when they loaded up with six picks in the top 50.
This is the second time this season that I have scored 1330 plus and have still been beaten , well done @Len I guess that means a better draft pick when the time comes
Congrats to @Bandit and the mob from Charlie’s Opening for a great game. The Klopp Cup (est 2020) now heads to Tassie and we will do our best to win it off you lot in 2021. Meanwhile a review of the ladder has the Nuffers in extremely familiar territory (in the bottom 4) and with a fairly tough run home our main hope now for getting to 5 wins for the season is to hope our opposition in upcoming rounds are severely bye hit and running stacks of o.o.p. players and/or donuts.
Well played @JC , cleaned up the Vultures this week, the return of Witherden couldn't have come at a worse time for us, not that it would have made a difference haha.
