I had locked in Kennedy to Zorko and Magner to Ablett for at least a week. But now I'm able to I'm waivering, and thinking going Magner to NDS and then I'll still have cash for Giles to Sandi next week. This trade works equally well with my bye strategy, which is to take 2 GWS donuts in round 11 in the forwards and 1 back donut, then barring injury should only get the 1 midfield donut in round 12 before having the full complement in round 13. Round 13 is a downgrade of Horsely to a playing rookie, to avoid a donut that week, then upgrade to Ablett the week after and having him perma-captain the rest of the year. I'm currently running Pendles as my Perma. The question is, is this a sensible move, saving trades and cash whilst picking up two premiums instead of one, or do you just HAVE TO HAVE Ablett?? I put my team up too, it also probably depends on Murphys scan too, if its 1-2 weeks I'll hold, any longer the tactics might change. What would you do? Delidio, Goddard, Lake, Hargrave, Waters, Clarke, Shaw - Bower, Spurr Pendlebury, Murphy, Selwood, Magner (NDS), Barlow, Horsely - McDonald, Smith Jacobs, Giles (Sandi) - Kruezer, Redden Franklin, Dangerfield, Sidebottom, Martin, Porplyzia, Chapman, Treloar - Kennedy, Hall
Going magner to ROK and shiel to ablett, finishes of my mid field with ablett, pendles, selwood, Watson, rockliff and Barlow.
Choices, choices. Murphy must go, now I could bring in a forward like Side/Danger (when will these guys have a bad game so I can get them cheap?) or a mid like Mitchell/NDS. Then there's Zorko who looks good, I was thinking of downgrading Porplyzia to him. Then there's Josh Jenkins, yes that's right a playing rookie ruckman! I thought he could be handy during the byes, until I realised he's a round 11 bye player and I already have Cox and Giles, so he would be no help at all. I also planned on upgrading Bugg to Rance/Duffield/Waters but I guess that will have to wait a week.
Double upgrade this week - Franklin and Dangerfield in. Dangerfield will fill in up forward until Christensen is fit, then will swing back to the midfield. Midfield will eventually be Stanton, Pendles, Boyd, Dangerfield, NDS and Priddis with Horsley and J Mac on the bench. Forwards will, for now, be Dangerfield, Sidebottom, Franklin, Chapman, Martin, Porps, Treloar with Christensen to come back in a couple of weeks. Want to do one more upgrade up back but am going to wait until bye rounds so I can avoid a doughnut somewhere.
@Kram I would be looking at Kruz to Jenkins, Magnet to GAJ and Giles to Sandi the following week. If you go Giles to Sandi and keep kruz on the bench you have 3 rucks for the byes yet you may not get another rookie ruck to downgrade to after the byes. I did McEvoy to Longer a few weeks back based on same logic.

Does anyone else worry that Danger or Sidebum are a waste given you're paying 150+ more than others who have them... Or are they going too well to pass up???
That admission with all due respect is "gay". There needs to be a "No One Cares!" button on TooSerious! If someone gets enough NOCs they get put on TooSerious probation.

Oh yeah Trades. Just for the joy of seeing GAJ in the team i've already done Devon Smith to Zorko (restores an MPP Link too) and Magner to GAJ. 300k up the sleeve has proved very handy. Need to make a run at the top eight in a couple of leagues and reckon GAJ is at his cheapest for the year. Might reverse it later in the week but for now I'm admiring the Perma Capt's name in the side.
Giles is a week of moo'n but with Jenkins arrival its time to go for anyone that has Giles at R3. Jenkins looks the goods, has same bye as Giles so wont affect any bye strat. Ruck downgrades don't come along every day.

Doc Larkins spoke on AFL.com about Murphy today - he's had the scan - shoulder sprain/separation which apparently they already knew. They don't really know how many weeks. Larkins compared it to Gibbs injury which made him miss an entire finals series - initally the club said 2 weeks, but that turned into 4. Larkins said he would not be surprised if its a month which means he'd be back in round 14. Edit: Murphy isn't Ablett so don't know what people are going to be doing trading wise with him - suspect he'll be traded by most especially given his poor form in recent weeks.
