At the first break at The Stadium, the local Barcrawlers are slightly ahead of the visiting Blowflies 2/175 to 2/167. Banchang's ruck, Sinclair, has dominated proceedings so far punching out a 22 possession game for 132 pts, while Newman, on his return to the top flight, underwhelmed in a foreign forward role, scoring a lowly 43. He's a half back flanker for gawd's sake. The visitors meanwhile, played very consistent footy up forward, with Florent 86 and Hewett 81, both playing above their averages, and putting the Blowflies in a good position to crack their first win against the Barcrawlers. Still a lot of footy to be played in this one..... @Mick
Early in the match at the Sandpit and it’s the Bulls leading the Sandgropers by 1 point SCS - 89/1 SFB - 90/1 Go ‘Gropers! Fixed @tyze1 sorry scoring for two matches and got confused
A score review has been called for with young Hayward questioning his 9 deduction by the Gropers scoreboard attendant.
Half-time at The Stadium sees the Barcrawlers trailing the Blowies, 10/837 to 9/639. The only reason Banchang are still in with a shout, is due to their backline of Barrass, Suckling and Tuohy scoring 102,99,92 respectively, for a combined 293, completely overshadowing the 3 man forward line of the Blowies, who could only muster 234 but it's been the midfield of Korumburra that has swung the game in their favour. The Little Master was back to his best with 117, while Menegola and Redden played the support role perfectly scoring 110 and 68. Not to be outdone, Vlastuin down back did his job, with 93. Banchang, with 3 midfielders still to come, in Higgins Greenwood and Langdon as well as Robinson up front and Doedee down back and Adams off the Interchange, still fancy their chances to overtake Korumburra who has Walters Hartung Goldy Hodgey and Tomlinson to come. The 2nd half beckons...... @Mick
Midway through the match at the Sandpit and it’s the locals leading @tyze1 ’s Bulls by 223 points. SCS - 1014/12/85 SFB - 791/10/79 It’s been a brutal contest so far with both Darling & Zaharakis going down with injury early; one for each team. Go ‘Gropers!
6/9th through in Coolgardie, and the locals have a lead but its a shaky one @fresh Coolgardie - 864 / 13 / 66.4 Cow Bay - 452 / 6 / 75.3 The score is on the board, 412 points extra to be precise, but that average of <70 is deplorable. To come we have J Macmillan and S Martin up against M Scharenberg, A Witherden, N Robertson, T Taranto, C Blakely, J Hopper, J de Goey, J Patton, and D Tucker Cow Bay clearly read the pitch report properly, and saw that it would be terrible to score off of for the first half of the test match, but the second half was expected to be much more "batter friendly", and so sent the locals in to bat first, which has worked well for the visitors thus far.
Still late in the first half of the Friday night blockbuster and it is the Armadillo's showing why they have started the season undefeated with Gawn dominating in the ruck and McDonald and Edwards taking advantage of the big man's efforts. Serengeti are showing signs of a pulse and aren't laying down as easybeats so with still plenty of time to play it is @insider and Ararat who are well on top but it's not over just yet Serengeti 535/6/89 v Ararat 643/6/107
About Half Time at the Eden Sporting Complex and it's Eden 7/467 leading Blanchetown 6/408 But neither Tyson nor Langford seem to be here. Both sides still have plenty of players left including Lester who will be taking on the job of ruckman this week against big Sauce Jacobs.
@ddsaints In Gisborne, the Grenades are 783/10/78.3 getting flattened by the rampaging Parasites 1020/11/92.7.
The Barracudas are on 936/11 85.1 and the Vikings are on 802/11 66.8 @bryzza with Shuey a late out and Howe missing the trip to Groote Eylandt the Vikings are a man down. They still have Crouch, Grundy & Griffen up against Corr, Phillips, Zorko & Waite.
Serengeti needed everything to go right if it was to claw their way back into this one but with Christensen getting knocked out just after half time it wasn’t to be this time. Ararat are well on top and pulling further away now late into the game. Serengeti 927/77/12 v Ararat 1359/97/14
Full time in Coolgardie, and its another loss for the home team, with the visiting Cow Bay Crocs @fresh taking out a comfortable 69 point win. Coolgardie - 1041 / 69.4 Cow Bay - 1110 / 74.0 The only solace for the home side was a 1 point win in the big tap award. Full match report to follow.
The Fulltime Siren has sounded at The Stadium and the visiting Blowflies have held on against the fast-finishing Barcrawlers 1274-1217, to notch their first win over Banchang. It was all Banchang in the 2nd half with the midfield of Higgins 127, Greenwood 99 and Langdon 72, all piling the pressure on, but with Goldy 123 giving Walters 92 and Hartung 62, first use of the ball, Korumburra were able to hang on for their 5th win this season to go 5-6, while Banchang drop to 6-5. BOG: 3. Sinclair 132 (BB) 2. Higgins 127 (BB) 1. Goldstein 123 (KB) BIG TAP: Sinclair (BB) def Goldstein (KB) 132-123 @Mick
