YAD69 wrote: Final Score Blanchetown (Bunyips) 1,418 def Groote Eylandt (Barracudas) 1,174 A slow start from the home team in the first quarter, however it was a ruse as they stepped up the performance rate across the ground. It didn't matter that Selwood was out, the midfield, in Prestia, Pendlebury and Armitage crushed their opponents racking up 38, 30 & 21 disposals and a goal each. The combination of Whitfield, 32 disposals, Dwyer who had a blinder picking up 28 disposals and Jacobs who was on fire having 33 taps was a spectacle to watch as they dissected the visitors. Leading the way in the forward line was Ballantyne were he slammed through 6 goals as the X-Factor in this one sided game. Young Robbie Gray hauled in 35 disposals and the Sergeant with his no holds bar performance cracked 4 goals and collected 13 disposals as they did what they liked in the forward 50. Defence was no different giving it to the visitors at every opportunity. Duffield working hard getting his 16 disposals, Scotty D. Thompson contributing all day as well as Langdon having stats of 16 and 21 disposals in a white wash for the home team. The Bunyips came out and swallowed whole each and every one of those Barracuda's in a display of what's to come in September. A big win on home turf. A great start by the visitors to South Australia with Gibbs collecting 23 disposals and a quick goal even subjected to a tag he broke free and kicked on. Cotchin and Cunnington put in solid performances with 27 and 24 disposals. Hanneberry was dazed and confused with his 13 disposals but did manage a goal in a lack lustre performance. Tim Mohr was on fire with his 19 disposals in defence and Burgoyne flitted in and out of the game but still raked up 17 disposals. Frawley put in another solid game with 2 goals and 16 disposals and Murphy was left to lick his wounds with a poor display this week collecting 17 disposals. Derickx made 28 hit-outs but his influence on the game was here nor there. Young Jack Watts booted 2 goals and grabbed 17 disposals for the match with Zorko also getting 3 through the big sticks but only collected 9 disposals. Goodes kicked 3 goal however only 11 disposals and Darling had only one leg with a poor performance with 11 disposals. Lewis put in a great effort in pulling together 22 disposals for the day. Unfortunately the same couldn't be said for Mzunga with a shocker 8 disposal count. Too many below average performances across the ground for the Barracuda's; including especially Mzunga as he squandered his opportunity given to him by Ball. The Cuda's came into the match with high expectations and left with a fishy taste in their mouth. Some note worthy performances in the seconds was young Jones, Bontempelli, Sutcliffe & Ball. Rd13. Serengeti Buffaloes 1202 (av.80.13) def. Banchang Barcrawlers 942 (av 62.8) A very disappointing performance from the Home side and the inaugural Offshore Outer Regional Fantasy Football Trophy (OORFFT) is on it's way to the vast plains of wildest Africa, the home of the Buffaloes. Well led by Hurn (157)and Atley (98) at the back and a polished display by their midfield B.Hill (118) Murphy (106) and Deledio (80), enabled their forwards Chappy (95) Dangers (90) and Elliott (90) to kick a winning score. The Barcrawlers were very disappointing in kicking their lowest score for the season, with only Selwood (100) and Monfries (92) able to compete with their opponent. With 6 players unable to reach 50, there was no way that the Buffaloes weren't going to win this one and the writing was on the wall by qtr time. BOG AWARD 3. S.Hurn 157 2. B.Hill 118 1.M.Murphy 106

Jones once again the barometer while Malceski and Boomer and Thompson also put in a solid effort. For Staghorn Flat 4 100+ scores (Mackie, Birchall, Dahlhaus, Kelly) proved just not enough. Aish only scored 29 but he is a project player so he will improve... the midfield probably was where Eden won but the Bulls should lift next week against Manangatang. I'll admit that the Parasites' outs definitely helped get the Prospectors over the line, but as I've been saying all season: all you have to do is beat the team put out on the park against you.

Yeah right insider, you can bank the 4 points now, I'll only have 14 scorers unless Shuey is a late in! Reading all these posts makes me very happy. I have a total of 22 players to select from - not meaning to gloat or anything. My prospects are looking up
After 2 defeats on the trot, the Parasites are looking forward to getting away on the boat to Xmas Island. Another tough matchup for the Pakenham boys, sees both clubs with 7 wins and Xmas in a rich vein of form. Hoping for a full squad to take to the park and a decent effort from all players. With only 1 loss separating 3rd and 10th its a must win for Pakenham. Looks like the Crocs will be short a player this weekend with Scully and Cameron late outs and only Jack Martin playing. That should give the Blowflies the win

The Xmas Island faithful have been looking forward to this match-up for weeks and the arrival of one of the FU's powerhouse sides has caused mayhem on the Island in the last couple of days. Even the most minor of sightings of BAFFU certainty GAJ have been reported on the front and back cover of the local rag. Although they go into the game as underdogs the Smugglers know an unlikely win here will greatly improve their finals chances. While a loss could see them slip out of the 8 altogether.
