The next team to get a season high and beat the utterly demoralised armadillos are the goannas. After week 1 of the split round we are sitting as follows Greg Broughton[span class='Apple-tab-span] Matthew JAENSCH[span class='Apple-tab-span] Trent MCKENZIE[span class='Apple-tab-span] 44 Mid:[span class='Apple-tab-span] 66[span class='Apple-tab-span] Mark HUTCHINGS[span class='Apple-tab-span] 72[span class='Apple-tab-span] 91 Ruc: 98 Fwd:[span class='Apple-tab-span] 144[span class='Apple-tab-span] Shane Edwards[span class='Apple-tab-span] 65[span class='Apple-tab-span] Lewis Taylor[span class='Apple-tab-span] Int:[span class='Apple-tab-span] 120[span class='Apple-tab-span] 62[span class='Apple-tab-span] ******************* Def:[span class='Apple-tab-span] 76[span class='Apple-tab-span] 105[span class='Apple-tab-span] Troy Chaplin[span class='Apple-tab-span] 66 Mid:[span class='Apple-tab-span] 127[span class='Apple-tab-span] Kieren Jack Sam Mitchell[span class='Apple-tab-span] 76 Ruc:[span class='Apple-tab-span] Shaun Hampson[span class='Apple-tab-span] Fwd:[span class='Apple-tab-span] 82[span class='Apple-tab-span] 89[span class='Apple-tab-span] Luke Breust[span class='Apple-tab-span] Joshua GREEN Int:[span class='Apple-tab-span] Liam Shiels[span class='Apple-tab-span] Isaac SMITH[span class='Apple-tab-span]
Groote Eylandt (Barracudas) v Pakenham (Parasites) Half Time The home team gets off to a great start with Gibbs booting 2 goals and racking up 27 disposals this kid is an absolute star. Two goals for young Bontempelli as he picked up 13 disposals. Cunnington backing him up with 2 through the big sticks and collecting 13 disposals. Watts finally pulls his shit together kicking one and picking up 19 disposals with a switch down back with Frawley who puts the leather to boot as well and collected 19 disposals. The Murph man put in a solid performance grabbing 16 disposals. Mzungu ran all day until an injury to his right hip; however he still managed to pick up 20 disposals. The visitors bolted and bolted out of the gate. Simpson cherrying picking 28 disposals, moved like a gazelle on heat. Goddard tried keeping up, did well, and was good all day getting 17 disposals. In the engine room Barlow kicks a goal and scooping up 24 disposals in getting the ball down to his forwards. Viney was down on performance even though he picked up 21 disposals. Those forward, the twin towers Riewoldt and Carlisle amassed a total of 12 goals, 4 for Riewoldt and Carlisle bagging 8 big ones. Christmas has come early for Jake. Riewoldt also smashed out 30 disposals and Carlisle picked up 19 disposals in a display of pure footy gold from these two. What will the second half bring from both teams in this fast and furious match?
With communications to Serengeti down the carrier pigeons have delivered Southern Cross a score update. At half time the Sandgropers are continuing their second half of the season resurgence, currently sitting on 13/1263/97 against the home town Buffaloes 8/702/88. After narrowlygoing down to theBarracuda's by 14 points last week, could the Buffaloes be the Sandgropers 3rd top 8 scalp in 4 weeks?
It's half-time at The Stadium and the visiting Blanchetown Bunyips (8/738) are well in control over the Barcrawlers (8/603) The home side have been well served once again by their skip, Selwood with a 147, while Winderlich, having moved down back, had a very respectable 111, and 'Lazy' Leigh 104. Their stand in ruck, Cooney, has probably registered the lowest score ever for a ruckman, with a whopping 2 points. They have been totally outclassed by the visitors to this point, with Gray leading the way with 134, ably supported by Armitage 120, and Duffield 107.

Potential interference or a case of the wrong pigeon making it back from Africa may have caused some errors in reporting with score updates coming direct out of the 'Geti have the Gropers leading heading into the final stages of this match 12/1161/97 to 8/702/88. Still going to take a monumental effort from the Buffaloes to grind their way back into this one with stars Luke Shuey, Nat Fyfe and Mark LeCras still to play for Southern Cross. The home town are pinning their hopes on another star performance from captain Dangerfield to get them out of a deep hole yet again.

I've included Tom Bell's score as Fitzpatrick didn't suit up for Southern Cross (someone say loophole?). I'll check my calculations again tonight.

Its half time at Mill Park and the Bulls who were feeling confident going in to knock Xmas off, have been spanked in the first half. Smugglers 538/5/108 Bulls 407/7/58 For the Smugglers, Tyson and Heppell have been huge, for the Bulls Boyd leads the way with 76 and poor old Dempster is wondering what hit him. A lot can happen in a week of footy but unless the plague rips through Xmas Island they are going to be leaving with the 4 points.
Checked my numbers (all players against their score on the hun), including Bell I definitely get 13/1263/97.

I'm not sure about the plague running through the playing group, butdelirium has struck the selection committee, who are convinced that naming Jack Redden on the interchange is a good idea, despite his season-ending injury. Luckilythat would mean Horlin-Smith's emergency score (104)would be counted, covering for the committee's negligence in naming injured players.
3 changes for Banchang prior to the start of the 2nd half of this round. Shaun Grigg is dropped from I/C emergency, with Matthew Shaw taking his spot as I/C Emergency and Clay Cameron moving to DEF Emergency.
Late change for the Prospectors, with Daniel Jackson sitting at home with his feet up, fellow Tiger Nick Vlastuin gets promoted to the interchange.
Shuffle of positions over in Serengeti for the Buffaloes with Liam McBean jumping into the forward line and Captain Dangerfield looking to swing the game around from the I/C
