The Sandgropers are continuing their second half of the season resurgence, currently teaching another top 8 side how it's done, sitting on 6/648/108 vs the Monarchs 3/229/76 (Henderson loopholed in by Johnson). There's still a long way to go, but it's hard to not get excited by these performances. Downside being the top 5 PSD pick appears less likely each week.

Pakenham have early points on the board against tough opposition Serengeti. It looks like another tight contest to follow Pak 662 for 8 Ser 205 for 3

No staring performance from Carlisle last night has me trading him for a pack of chips again :/ Is he the next Kosi?

Eden Whalers currently lead a slow-starting Cow Bay Crocs 4-332 to 1-38. Malceski returned to form with 111 points and 70+ scores from Smith and the emergencies Curnow and Suban.

Really sorry choppers and everyone else concerned. Had a very busy week, and unfortunately this got pushed to the back of my mind. Am happy to do anything needed for fairness, including change my team. I'll fix up anything outstanding today and post some progress scores.

The team you have posted in tsLeagues was posted prior to Friday's bounceup and you're already way ahead of me, 3/240 against my poor 2/118.......and thats without both Neales and Casboults scores......But my pick in the PSD will be before yours......LOL!

I've got no problem with whats happened Tomster, but maybe we need to have a discussion about tanking before next week. Are we ok with it and if not how do you control it?

High scoring match was just what I needed, pretty tight between us now. Had a little on the eagles too so it was a good result for me.

Although is there any real difference between naming a team with only Freo/Carl players as emergencies and listing a full team which is then changed (assuming the changes are to non-locked out players)? For a non-standard start to the weekend (ie, any weekend that doesn't start on a Friday night) we agreed that the early start games would be locked in prior to that game starting, but all other games / players wouldn't be locked in until after the full teams announcement was made, so the normal Friday. That sounds confusing, and I wrote it. Basically - Thursday games = free loophole opportunity on those players, all other games locked as normal prior to bouncedown Friday night. dont mean to labour the point but can i revisit this? So if i wanted to change something now (being sat night) i can or cant? jpk's explanation above seems fairly straightforward but wanted to confirm. If i have an emergency who has done well tonight can i shift an injured player onto the field in place of a sunday game player therefore using the loophole and taking the emergency score? Or, if im reading JPK's description correctly, you only have a loophole or free kick if it is a thurs game or split round or something?

Hey mate, for a round with a Thursday match you can onlychange the team before theFriday game and obviously you can only change the guys that have not played. For a split roundthere is a true rolling lock out and you can change your team between each match.

Late in the game and the visiting Monarchs are now favourites to take the 4 points on the back of some big scores from their WA contingent. As it stands Southern Cross (14/1306/93) are narrowly in front of King Island (12/1186/99), but with some heavy hitters to come it would take a large collapse for the Monarchs to lose from here.

Down in Gisborne, the match is heating up heading into the final few games of play. Gisborne currently hold a comfortable lead, but with players to come for Bangchang, can the apprentice defeat the master? Gisborne - 1013/13/77.9 Bangchang - 705/9/78.33

The match has tightened up in Pakenham, the home side is 811 for 10 vs Serengeti 850 for 11. It looks to be going down to the wire. An exciting finish for the home crowd

Pakenham have defeated Serengeti 1270 to 1067. Big games from Beams and Sidebum have secured the victory, the efforts from Pittard, Polec and Elliott were not enough to challenge in the finish. Bog votes 3. Barlow 2. Beams 1. Pyke Pyke making a late run for Giant Tap

Pearcedale have kept their finals chances alive with a 1367-1286 win over Xmas Island. It was a great team performance by the Panthers, with 6 players breaking the ton and another 3 posting 90+ scores. Tyson (138) and Hartlett (139) kept the Smugglers close but couldn't make up for poor contributions from the forward line. Hamish McIntosh will have to explain his going AWOL to the leadership group this week, with the coach very tempted to take punitive measures after the 81 point loss.

Final Score Coolgardie (Prospectors) 1,122 def by Groote Eylandt (Barracudas) 1,229

The home team got off to a slow start however Kennedy of the Josh P kind come to play even with several tags kicking a goal and picking up 28 disposals, Ebert also had a great run on the park grabbing 24 disposals with O’Meara backing him up with a goal and 22 disposals. Wines managed 25 disposals however a fair proportion weren’t effective. Big Mumford tapped out 22 and was the instrumental in feeding his midfielders the leather.

From there the cracks started appearing. In defence there was good ball and body work with Baguley pushing out 25 disposals and Petterd switched up and kicked 2 goals in the first half of the game but could only manage 14 disposals. Hooker tried all day but fell short with only 14 disposals and Petersen could only get 11 disposals with becoming injured during the game and receiving treatment in the 4th quarter.

The forward line was down on performance for this time of year. Petrie could only manage 1 goal and 6 miserable disposals. The rest of the forwards couldn’t plug one at all, Frost, Tomlinson and Hunter sticking 16, 12 & 14 disposals to their names. Ellis had a shocker and was subbed out in the 3rd quarter, however he did put boot to ball and kicked 2 with 13 disposals while Jonas picked up 14 disposals.

At the end of the day the home team didn’t do enough and faced a loss to the Barracuda’s.

The visitors were out of the gate early with Gibbs racking up 20 effective disposals out of the centre. Capitain Cotchin kicked the first goal of the match after a spill in front of the sticks, he also picked up 30 disposals, Cunnington backed him up with 19 disposals. Bontempelli had an average game with only 13 disposals.

It was the defensive structure that really put the visitors in the box seat with Murphy cranking out 32 disposals, the man was on fire. Frawley switched it up kicking a goal and picking up 16 disposals like a seagull after french fries. Burgoyne and Langford grabbed 24 & 21 disposals as they shut down the opposition.

Up front this week Goodes showed you can’t hold the old man down as he booted 2 and picked up 18 disposals. Darling was terrific slamming through 3 goals all from about 40 meters out with a conversion rate of 100%. Watts moved the ball on quickly getting his 17 disposals and Zorko netting 17 disposals as well.

Lewis continuing to rack up the disposals week in week out as he collected another 26 and in the last quarter bagged 2, one long bomb from outside the 50 meter arc were it sailed beyond the pack and through the centre of the sticks. Mzungu had a different story unfortunately with hamstring problems he was subbed off in the 2nd quarter with only 9 disposals to his name.

It was a great win for the travelling Barracuda’s against a top 8 team. Our focus now turns to the final match of the home and away season against the Smugglers for the coveted Islander Cup.

    What started out as a close contest ended in a comfortable 89 point win for the visiting Monarchs 1456 to 1367. With 6 tons to 4, the Monarchs showed some great form going in to the finals. Southern Cross were well served by their local boys with the pick being Nat Fyfe (171, now the third ranked player in the league - a steal at pick 11), Mitch Duncan (145), Hurley (124 -wtf? obviously not a local)& Paddy Ryder (117).Ironically it was the Monarchs West Aussies that did the bulk of the damage on their return to their home state, with Naitanui (133), Kennedy (127), Rance (125) & Priddis (115) all excelling. The home team, although disappointed with the loss, were heartened to learn that their score was enough to earn points in every other match this round and that with a good off season they should be pushing into the finals next season, [span style='color: rgb(0, 0, 0);
