man we need a +1 / thumbs up / like button for posts.... Same sentiments as everyone else - thanks for a great first season lads. Been some good to'ing and fro'ing and great constructive robust discussions! Midway thru the season I thought probably TTT and DD play off in the granny with maybe Damo and Kim as the smokys but through many different circumstances ive gone from the boiled lollies of last pick to chocolates in the grand final. Ill take a spiritual victory even if i cant hoist the cup after the weekend... has been great. Cheers to all and a round on me for the commish - dedicated, unwavering and fair throughout. Top marks sir
Well the final Bulls squad for the year. The Bulls have come from a long way back after a mid year slump and now find themselves in a grand final. Team selection was brief with no hard luck stories (like kickett in 93) and the bulls go in unchanged this week. McEvoy would have made the squad but again has failed to come up handing an immediate advantage to Ararat. B: Mackie, Birchall, Dempster, Rampe (Grima) M: Rockliff, Boyd, Stanton, Bastinac (Cunningham) R: Buntine(oop) F: Roughead, Lynch, Dahlhaus, Jetta (Daniher) I: Kelly, Kelly (Reid) Been a cracking year - may the best team win!
Good luck Tyze. My best (fit) 15 Broughton Jaensch McDonald Hibberd (Mullett) Vince Cross HarryO Treloar (Lonergan) Jamar Westhoff Edwards Wingard Taylor (Adams) Minson Broomhead (Fasolo)
The Bulls have shot out to an early lead on the back of Roughead's 137and Birchall's 122. In contrast Ararat have struggled early with Broomhead & Lumumba both scoring in the 50's 1/2 through the first quarter sees Staghorn Flat 259 / 2 / 129.5 Ararat 105 / 2 / 52.5
Ararat would seem to have their nose in front midway through the third quarter after some consistent efforts allround (1 x 100, 3 x 90 4 x 80). The Bulls were rocked by the late withdrawal of Rockliff and drafted Cunningham in to the side. Mackie, Cunningham, Rampe & Jetta all struggled and have handed the momentum back to Ararat. Staghorn Flat 738 / 9 / 82 Ararat 910 / 11 / 82.7 The lack of a starting ruckman may prove to be the difference in a grand final that will go to the wire.
Well done to Ararat who have won the inaugural ORFFU grand final with a 1283 - 1205 (or thereabouts) win over Staghorn Flat. It was the consistency of the Ararat playing group that got the job done with the Bulls having the three highest scoring players on the park. Well done Insider!
Congrats both Tyze and Insider on making our first GF and Insider for taking it out! Well played guys.
Congrats to insider and the boys from Ararat. Commiserations to Tyze and the boys from Staghorn Flat. Drinks all around then hey?
I would also like to add my two bob's worth in congratulating both insider and tyze on a well contested first GF for ORFFU, with insider finishing in front this time, and on getting pick 18 once again. I would also like to thank everyone else for an enjoyable first season. May our 2nd season be even better. Cheers.
Hey lads thanks for all the love. been interstate for work and only just logging on now (22.26 wednesday night) to find out that i bloody won!! assumed i was no chance. Unlucky Tyze, you were probably the more consistent performer all year. Cheers
Looks like double congrats to the Armadillo’s with Lewis Taylor picking up the rising star award for 2014 pipping the Barracuda's Marcus Bontempelli by 1 point in the closest count since it started.
Hi All, just want to apologise for my lack of post season input - its not just the disappointment of my Bullslosing the grand final! Baby boy number entered the world on Monday. Hopefully I can put some quality time into trading I'm keen to make some deals stick in the off season! Swans by 13 for mine tomorrow
