It seems that the Lilacs were an Scott Thompson kick away from a massive upset win over the Spelunkers. The final margin looks to be 3 points the Spelunkers' way, but without about 4 first choice players the Lilacs almost stole a win due to Scott Thompson's Showdown efforts. They are definitely getting closer. Meanwhile a couple of the Dirigibles' players decided to turn up and actually cast their eyes away from Aleks Sever for long enough to grind out a wholly unimpressive win. Thanks to Messers Armitage, Betts, Westhoff and Newnes whose late game scoring was enough to get the Blimps home. Messers Walker, Tyson, Walters (though injured) and a couple of others have been put on notice. Tyson and Walker in particular continue to disappoint. Meanwhile Seedsman is again injured and Walters was seeing stars after being smashed early in his game - so the injuries are catching up with us a bit as they are everyone else. May being reported for levelling Rockliff doesn't help either. Apart from Cornes returning, and perhaps McGlynn, a few Dirigibles are holding onto their spots by default only. With a game against Iron Knob this week, and some tough ones to follow, the challenges mount.
Comfortable win for the Dirigibles, provisional scores 1188 to 1010. The only shining light for MBM is the fact that we have managed 1k 5 weeks running, though only just. Les Wales Votes; David Armitage DGD Elliot Yeo MBM Eddie Betts DGD Alex Rance DGD Patrick Ryder MBM

Jen is halfway shocked and half very happy. Scott Thompsons 70 point last quarter wasn't in vain.
I can't remember the last time the Nuffers won two in a row. I feel like Luke Beveridge! Speaking of which, see below.....

Incorrigibles 1315 defeated Uglies 1188 Les W votes 5. H Bennell (MBU) 146 SC points 4. D Hannebery (WAI) 144 SC points 3. H Taylor (WAI) 131 SC points 2. N Fyfe (WAI) 128 SC points 1. T Mitchell (WAI) 114 SC points Prediction - when the Uglies get close to full strength, which is soon, they will be more than a handful for most opposition. The Cows were lucky that the visitors were undermanned. Postscript - in what turned into a huge night Paul's nephew Dan joined him for an acoustic set which got sensational when Tim Finn and his son Liam joined the pair. Then Todd Hunter and Marc Williams (two of the surviving members of Dragon for younger viewers) joined in. They in turn welcomed James Reyne and Ian Moss who just happened to be in town for the footy. Music is still being made so, if you'll excuse me, I'll get back to the show and the shiraz. Postscript 2 - Bama's travel group and the Uglies are still grooving. They missed their flight and have not as yet even enquired as to when they might be able to get a flight back to the mainland.

Kelly, Jong and possibly Pavlich added to the Foul Bay injured list with a match against the rampaging Venus Bay coming up. Never had a two game losing streak until now. Pretty sure that it will be three. Then Iron Knob the following week, the losing streak might extend to four.

Mate I scored a huge 1150 last week, not sure you have much to be scared about from IK at the moment. If anything we will be the tonic to heal your losing streak!

Let's see if we can both actually score 1200 this week Jim. That'll be a novelty I reckon!
