I did OK, got 3 extra posts out of 1, pretty productive stuff. I'm also "doing a Lucas" laying real low, just don't think I can rouse the Hammers until the inevitable matchup with the Savages in Round 19. I think it's late enough in the year for my forwards to start Overflowing. I have tried to rouse Patch from his slumber numerous times, I would have thought this would have invoked a response of epic proportions, something like a 130 or a 140. Seems like he is content to be a role player at a successful team, and fair play to the kid.

Kudos to Xenomorph that he has constructed a league, still barely in it's infancy, that already has you pair looking over your shoulders. An ounce of common sense and you would see that a fair proportion of the posts in ORFFL are from ORFFA coaches. As for quality of ORFFA posts, that is in the eye of the beholder. Good or bad, it undeniably indicates level of interest and that is perhaps something that you should address to your coaches who shy from the public eye. I won't pretend to comprehend what H. is on about with truth and honesty and the best method for its delivery, but I will repeat this; Hornsy is regarded as the father of the outer regional concept. As such he is placed above rivalry as far as ORFFA is concerned. Sarah Island remains the original - all the rest mere imitation. To develop a rivalry between leagues is all good. But until such time as that can be translated into trans-league competition, it seems a waste of good posts to me.
Silently? More like a foghorn
If a tree falls in the woods, and you don't understand the words uttered with its dying breath, does it make an intelligible sound?
Men stumble over the truth from time to time, but most pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing happened.-- Winston Churchill
As one who converses on a regular basis with our branched friends, I would give that a categorical yes.

Quote from Hornsy on May 16, 2012, 15:52 If a tree falls in the woods, and you don't understand the words uttered with its dying breath, does it make an intelligible sound?
Yes Hornsy, the breath. Otherwise how do you know it was its dying breath?

Quote from Hornsy on May 16, 2012, 16:33 Oh, you're good, BB.
He's a lumberjack and he's okay.
Cheers, I might even consider going to Uni finally. See if I can get a business degree and get this fantasy comp off the ground
Sad news indeed BB. "Fired" is such a not nice way of putting it, but whichever way you put it I guess the result is the same. Still, I regard hobo as one of the most honourable professions in the world, even if trains are a bit hard to find these days. Please keep us abreast of developments with your new life. And Lucas, should you decide to come slumming back in here, take a close look at the above. All it takes is a simple statement about a tree, with a modicum of ambiguity, and you have people climbing over each other to register quality posts.
There is still one rail-line nearby but that just goes up to Launceston and back really, not ideal. Thank you Terry I shall do. I not with some astonishment that you are closing in on the big 2000, certainly no small feat. It seems like not that long ago you cracked the 1000 barrier...

It is certainly no small feet. Sorry for making temporary use of your house and fine facilities here H.
good luck BB, I have found "retirement" to be a liberating experience. As my perspective on life changes it is intriguing how many views I had previously rejected now seem more reasonable, if not realistic. Time to think is a valuable commodity. One that most cannot afford. Relish the time BB
