Sometimes even chels and myself succumb to making nonsensical comments in chat - rarely on Friday evenings though when there is the more pressing issue of unearthing a few value winners - not that I see too many value options in the early small fields at Randwick.

For the record, I already have Silent Achiever scoffing down the oats so the Hawk was the next choice to bring in mainly because I am not overly enthused with the rest of the field - Mosheen could've had the Derby in a canter impo.

whips, I suspect there is a little bit of alcohol fuelled chat on Friday night - maybe even from Bear and me. Friday night chat is always cool as there are some really fine regulars who give and take - bit like an old style after work drink.

Will only have 4 runners today - Pierro, Laser Hawk, Silent Achiever and either Foxwedge or Rain Affair. More worried about having outside of possible Trusting. nothing for the Doncaster yet. Nash could ride 5 winners today - but might also ride 5 close runners-up

Fair call boys, and mine was an alcohol fuelled post tinged with great disappointment at the result.
    (Don't post pist!!)
    Good luck to all today.

ChilliRed nailed it today with Ethiopia and others and we're 261st as a league.
I part-own a horse with ChilliRed named Jungle Rover.
About two months ago, Jungle Rover beat Ethiopia in a maiden at Sale.
Given that Ethiopia has won the Derby and will probably be aimed at The Cup in the Spring, I hope he runs 2nd.
    My horse is better.
Edit: How good was Atlantic Jewel? I really think we might be comparing her to Black Caviar by the end of the Spring. Big statement but I'm happy to make it.

While it looks like we've lost some interest here, I'll post anyway.
Brought in Niwot and Atlantic Jewel and Nash as hoop.
Hope we all trade for a best possible league position.

Missed lockout this morning - am spewing I didn't drag my sorry arse out of bed in time!!!

But just to give you fellas a bit of a bonus, I signed up this week to PPM's new service this week.
The V Phenomenon looks like a top selection service which is currently showing 103% profit on level stakes with some good winners - many will be fairly short due to the nature of the selection criteria, but with a good staking plan you can easily increase that LS profit level considerably.

So as a bonus to everyone here (have already emailed these to chels seeing he was due on the golf course early this morning), I will share these tips with you for a couple of weeks.

    Todays selections are:
Randwick Race 1 - TAB No. 2 (Hallowell Belle)
Randwick Race 2 - TAB No. 5 (Fat Al)
Randwick Race 3 - TAB No. 1 (Pierro)
Randwick Race 7 - TAB No. 7 (More Joyous)
Caulfield Race 3 - TAB No. 6 (Tres Vite)

Enjoy the races fellas - and as always, good luck :)

traded in the Jewel and Permit. Nash is the jockey.

So far two winners to Nash. Pierro still in the stable so that was gold. The Jewel and Rain Affair quinella the All Aged so that's good. Permit and Manigher still to come.

A good comp again. Lets keep these up guys and girls.

Congrats to ChilliRed, you are a star and a key part of our success in future comps!! Any and all tips you have would be gratefully received. Well done.

chels, chels, chels, chels, chels - oh paaalease.
    ChilliRed a star?
Well, I guess he carried us but he doesn't need those sort of accolades - or more to the point, I don't need him to have those sort of accolades.

Bear, thanks for getting the league up and running. It's been great fun.
And thanks to all who have played and posted. Top 7% ain't too bad for leagues and I look forward to the Spring comp.

By the way, and a little off-topic, how would a super coach feel if he had Dempsey, Carazzo, Rohan, Shaw, Redden, Ablett, Chad Cornes, Paine, Kennedy and some other non-playing rookies? Not too healthy!
How would that super coach feel if he he also had Porplyzia and Sam Shaw who are touted as late withdrawals tomorrow?
Yep, ChilliRed goes in with only 16 scoring players this round.
At least he's had a good Autumn cos his SC year is all over.

Cheers boyz and see you all at The Bool this coming week!

No probs for having the league up and running, and will definitely get it going again for the spring considering we done ok in this.
Just make sure ChilliRed is in it again mate :)

If anyone in the league is not a friend here on TS, make sure you send me a friend request so it's easy to let you know when the spring comp league is up and running - especially ckhoo888.

Keep your eyes on this thread throughout the year though, as I will continue to post those selections from PPM each week - I had a profitable day on Saturday from the 5 selections even though most were fairly short - it's all in the staking plan (plus I multied the selections every which way resulting in some good returns)!!!

For the record, this is how they paid out approx on Sportingbet:
    Randwick Race 1 - No. 2 (Hallowell Belle) 3rd -/$1.25
Randwick Race 2 - No. 5 (Fat Al) Won $2.10/$1.10
    Randwick Race 3 - No. 1 (Pierro) Won $1.30/$1.05
Randwick Race 7 - No. 7 (More Joyous) Won $3.40/$1.30
Caulfield Race 3 - No. 6 (Tres Vite) Unplaced

So that was a win strike rate of 60% and place strike rate of 80%
36% profit on level stakes not bad considering an odds on winner, another just a tad over evens, and the third winner a touch over 2's.
With a good staking plan I was able to increase this to 96% profit without taking into account the multi's I had.

So feel free to take advantage of the selections as I post them each week fellas - will try to ensure they are up on Friday evenings/early Saturday mornings at the latest to cater for chels & his obsession with chasing a little white ball around the linked manicured grass :D

    Hey there fellas,

Here's this weeks tips from the PPM V Phenomenon selection service

Melbourne Race 3 - TAB No. 2 (Almodovar)
Melbourne Race 4 - TAB No. 3 (Elusive King)
Melbourne Race 8 - TAB No. 1 (Star Of Giselle)

Remember, use a good staking plan with all these tips and you'll see the profit level increase from the solid level stakes profit this service has been showing since it's inception.

Good evening punters and all around good fellas :D

Following Hazey's efforts to start a dedicated Racing Tips thread, the tips I have been providing from the PPM V Phenomenon selection service will be posted there from now on, so go here for all the good oil for Saturday's racing meetings each week - http://tooserious.net/forum/other-sports-group8/other-sports-forum11/racing-tips-thread1968

Whilst you are there, check out the quality tips provided by Hazey - last week included a tasty 20's + winner to boost the bank balance.

And don't be shy to post a comment to let us know how you fare each week - there's plenty of ways to make these tips pay off, and we would all have different staking strategies so the differences between how we all go could be quite a bit.

Anyway, head over there now for all the tips from the V Phenomenon.

Good work setting the league up Len. I also set up the TS PUNTERS league when it first opened and posted the league code on the Punters Club home page (meant to post it here as well but never got around to it)!!! League code is 218260 - no harm being in a couple of leagues!!! We should get some discussion going regarding potential stable inclusions with the aim of making these 2 leagues top performers!!!

Not sure on the jockey or trainer selections as yet Len, will be holding off till I study the fields tomorrow (with final decision after scratchings Sat morn). As for stable selections, currently looking at starting with PDL and Jet Away from the Turnbull, but other stable slots are up in the air atm (been some fairly regular changes made over the past couple of weeks)!!!

The amount of horses I cannot select this year is annoying me.
Not one of the top 3 derby choices is available.
