ItautItawapuddytat is me. SUPERFASTHORSEYS is a colleague from work. I also had another colleague (Alcopoop) who joined. I'll have to see if he is in or not.
g'day Bear, celery will be standing up for the chels if you know what I mean. Celery and Stanford Bridge go hand in hand like chels and alcohol. Looks like an interesting comp with some real strategy possible.Having the winners to the really big money races seems like the priority (and won't hurt my TAB account either). regards chels
Agree chels, having the winners of the big money races in your stable would be the key - although I must admit that I am finding it hard to look past the internationals for the Cup itself. Looks like Godolphin could be bringing out 3 top quality contenders with Modun definitely going to be here and Cavalryman & Lost In The Moment strong chances to come out depending how they run at Ascot in the Cumberland Lodge Stakes Saturday night our time. Although I am currently looking at Lucas Cranach and last years winner Americain to be the hardest to beat in the big one (gee the mighty French horse done me proud last year when I tipped him to all my mates, made my Christmas a very merry one). Will be putting alot of research into my final 10 over the next 18 hours to make sure I am set to start off on the right foot for the first 2 meetings this weekend - and aim to have a trading plan in place so I can get the right horses in my stable at the right time. Anyway, time to stop raving - got appointment with the surgeon soon to see what's gunna happen with these bloody gallstones!!!
Americain won me $35 last year, going to look at a horse at around $10 for a little bit of an upset again this year. Also Bear as you follow the horses closely, do you know why Europa Point isn't in the list? Are they late on putting him in or something. I remember he was favourite for one of the races last year and he finished 2nd, does he still race, just trying to look for him and he isn't there.. Cheers
crikey Bear, good luck with the gall stones. As others will find the impacts on the body from long term alcohol abuse are many and varied ....... Wouldn't have not started for a bet though. regards chels
Well, good news from the surgeon this arvo - having gall bladder removed on Monday 17th Oct, can't wait coz within a few weeks after op I should be over all this pain & might even be able to have a drink or 2 when I go to Adelaide for my Mum's 70th early November Onto racing news, Alcopop will not be running in the Turnball on Sunday due to the wet weather - he will now run in the Caulfield Stakes (Yalumba) on the 8th with his main target being shifted to the Cox Plate rather than the Caulfield Cup. Also, Linton, Rekindled Interest, At First Sight & Southern Speed all scratched from this evenings JRA Cup at the Valley - possibly all except At First Sight will be going around in the Turnball on Sunday (At First Sight already a scratching Sunday).
Hope everyone got their stables sorted before lockout this morning!!! Unless there is a few scratchings tomorrow, it looks like I will have 7 of my stable running over the 2 meetings this weekend - could be off to a good start (I hope)!!!
only seven running Bear, with luck celery should be all in with ten runners and Corey Brown hustling. 1. December Draw - $175,000 2. Sincero - $175,000 3. Foxwedge - $150,000 4. Mosheen - $125,000 5. Niwot - $125,000 6. First Command - $75,000 7. Strike The Stars - $75,000 8. Celebrity Girl - $50,000 9. Red Eye Special - $25,000 10. Unusual Suspect - $25,000 Good luck to all regards chels
poor ride by O'Brien gave Sincero no chance in the Epsom chels - but would've been hard pressed to beat Secret Admirer's slashing run out wide
true Bear on both points. But 1200 metres was the distance of the race - lool. O'Brien slaughtered him. Would have taken the points for second. Now the question is to hold Sincero or trade. How did you day one go? regards chels
0/3 today chels - but they were all speculative low cost hopefuls that I never planned holding throughout the comp. Got some real good chances tomorrow though
Ok, rankings are up after today's 1st meeting. 1st - Gongolfin - $468,000 2nd - Celery - $171,000 3rd - Melbandy Salutes - $85,000 4th - ItautItawapuddytat - $57,000 5th - Fields of Omagh - $12,000 All other stables failed to get in the money today - hopefully that will change tomorrow though. Well done to Whips whose selection of Nash Rawillier as stable jockey boosted his winnings by $300k.
That'll be the first time I ever thank a jockey. Funny day:- Love Conquers All - 3rd Pinker Pinker - 2nd Lamasery - 3rd Collingwood - 2nd I just wish Pinker Pinker could've got up. LOL Well done Bear. You're doing a great job. By the way, I'll tell you a story about Nash. A few years ago at Warrnambool we got on the piss with Nash and Brad. Nash was to ride our horse the next day. Have you ever noticed how sloooowly Nash speaks and he pauses soooo long before speaking. Anyway, we loaded up on our mare at the juicy odds of $10. She was training the house down. She ran 4th - a certainty beaten and only by 1L. On return to scale, Nash fronted the owners. "Sorry boys." . .Pauses - looks down at his feet. . . . "I should have brought her into the race earlier" . . .Pauses - looks down at his feet. . . "I think we should have won" . . .Pauses - looks down at his feet. . . "But I think you boys know that already." Yes Nash. Hard to hate him. Nice bloke!!! But I'll be trading him out this week.
