<td colspan='5] Round 5 The Goannas made up almost70 points on Ararat this week, while Pakenham also closed the gap to the leaders. Still early days obviously, but at this stage it's hard to see any team challenging the top 3 for the title as they're averaging more than 60 ppg over the rest of the comp. While at the other end of the ladder,Gisborne get off the bottom thanks to Hawks non-posting of a team.

Round 6 Once again Korumburra appear to be the hardest done by. It's been a tough draw for the Blowflies, having drawn 3 of the top 4 teams in the early rounds. Surely their maiden win can't be too far away. While at the other end of the spectrum the Prospectors are getting the job done racking up wins early in the season. It will be interesting to see ifJPK can hold this ranking from here on in, as Coolgardie has only played one top 8 team to date (a win over the Monarchs in round one). The rest of the ladder seems to be taking shape. After declaring last week that teams would struggle to catch the top 3 the Bulls and Monarchs did just that, capitalising on relatively poor weeks from the Goannas, Armadillos and Parasites. This prediction game is for mugs. Rank Team Points Change from FU Ladder

I will, however, be barracking for the Grenades to blow the sh!t out of your Budgie Smugglers this week :)

Round 7 Staghorn continued their march up the ladder, confirming they are one of the form teams at the moment. In a first (and probably last) two teams are tied on total points with the Barracudas and Barcrawlers sharing 7th (not sure how that will work for draft purposes, I assume we go to the maligned percentage?). As I have the higher % of the two after Rd7, I should probably follow Groote Eylandt in Rd1 of the MSD. What's everyone think?

We are using the actual ladder, the one in the tsLeagues page, so the order is Cow Bay Gisborne Korumburra Manangutan Sotuhern Cross Eden Pearcedale Banchang Groote Christmas King Ararat Blanchetown Serengeti Staghorn Goondiwindi Coolgardie Pakenham Pakenham Coolgardie Goondiwindi etc

I would have thought as it's an equalisation measure that Cow Bay gets the first pick in each round and then we continue the order fromlowest to highest?

Hmm, might be Damo. I don't remember, anyone else remember anything? It will stuff up all my numbers for picks in the trades thread. I'm happy enough either way

I was under the impression that the first draft we did wasn't a typical draft order coz we were drafting our initial squads. There were some posts about doing it that way so the coach with pick 1 didn't have too much of an advantage over the coach with pick 18.

I just assumed that any drafts after that were in line with AFL drafts where bottom placed side gets first pick in every round and first placed side last pick in every round.

+1 Don't like it because it hurts me for having a (no offence to anyone) relatively easy draw at the start of the season, allowing me to win games with a low overall total points score (which has been pointed out many times) - but I do agree that its the way to go.
