OK, it is time for the big dance, the final countdown, the time to stand up and be the difference, where everything you have played for in a season means nothing if you falter on the final day. Victory is paid for in sweat, courage, and preparation and greatness is earned, never awarded.
For the two teams going into the ORFFA grand final this weekend, there are two very different tunes being played.
For the Foul Bay Chickens, Jay-Z's We Run This Town”, Queen's We are the Champions” and Guns'n'Roses Welcome To The Jungle” pretty much some it up. Chief Russell has been downplaying their chances throughout the year, but like all good champions do, he is putting the points on the board when it matters most. The team is red hot.
For the Darraweit Guim Dirigibles, Eminem's Lose Yourself”, Cakes Going the Distance”, and Bill Conti's Gonna Fly Now” sum up their attitude. They are absolutely the underdogs, but this is their chance to shine, and they will do their very best to grab it with both hands.
Let's go through the teams and see what the weekend holds:

Foul Bay Forwards versus Darraweit Defence
FB : Pavlich, Bartel, Stokes, Dahlhaus
    DG: Rance, Frawley, McKenzie, Otten
The Foul Bay forward line has two proven performers in Pavlich and Bartel, and then two players who can run hot or cold. Rance will take Pavlich, and Otten will try and play a holding role on Bartel. Stokes and Dahlhaus will have to stay close to McKenzie, or else his run off half back could pose a real problem.

    Midfields:
FB : Dangerfield, Selwood, Liberatore, Kelly
    DG: Cunnington, Foley, Walker, Harvey
When comparing the engine rooms you see Foul Bay running with a lineup akin to an Audi R8 V10, and Darraweit Guim running an old school 426 Hemi. Foul Bay have the new breed of high performance, with Selwood and Dangerfield in ripping form, whilst the Blimps have the old school grunt with Harvey hoping to go out on a high, ably supported by workhorses like Foley and Cunnington. Coach Chris will be desperately hoping that Andrew Walker gets up for the clash after being a late out on the weekend.

Darraweit Forwards vs Foul Bay Defence:
FB : Pearce, Johnson, Broughton, Harwood
    DG: Westhoff, Vickery, Walters, Edwards
Will the Chief persist with the burn man Broughton for the biggest game of the year? The Guim's forward line has the potential to cause more than a few headaches, and when on song they can go huge. The height of the Hoff and big Ty may prove to be a concern.

    Rucks:
    FB : Mumford
    DG: Maric
Both clubs have strong ruckmen… Maric probably edges this on current form

    Bench:
    FB : Roughead, Thomas
    DG: Betts, Seedsman
Will the Chief bring in Thomas for the weekend, or will he roll the dice on Chris Yarran? The orange Roughie had been quiet until the weekend… who knows what will happen. Eddie Betts will either score 30 or 130, and Seedsman is an emerging talent with massive wraps from a few of the other ORFFA coaches.

All in all this will be a massive game. Foul Bay will have dialed in a 1400 plus score, and Darraweit coach Chris will have the team well and truly fired up. The Blimps have nothing to lose, and Foul Bay coach Chief Russell will have the spectre of complacency looking over his shoulder.
I'm not going to bother with a prediction for this one, may the best team win and let's hope for a cracking match
