But I reckon you are still well in the game - if not in the box seat, Bandit. I am 944/12 with Walters, Otten and Newnes in the team left You are 835/12 with three good players - Montagna, Jack and Hill - to come. Still plenty of opportunities to make up 110 points.
Minor editorial point Chief, I suggest that should be the top teams from the home and away series, not the top teams per se. Based on today's result I do not think I have a top team! Perhaps we can get some draft relief?

Bandit wrote: Now confirmed... Well done Chris, best of luck for the rest of the finals Thanks Bandit. Commiserations to you - you didn't have a lot of luck go your way this week with Hill and Savage in particular. It appears there mightve been a few upsets in the ORFFA.finals. It'll be interesting to see the scores and wash-up.

Cheers Lenny, great match! You had me worried but some last quarter junking from the Freo boys allowed Mummy and Libba to take care of the rest. Happy to avoid the ORFFA carnage and sneak through.

You were cruelled by some unlikely low scores though. And I stand by my hit or miss statement. For instance, that was only Geary's 2nd ton since round 3 and Jesse White just came off back to back 39's. So it's fair to say that the planets did not align for you mate.
Well done everyone. Some high quality finals thus far also, remember that the highest ranked team gets to pick their Semi Final opponent. If Iron Knob have won, it is JimBowen. If Powlett Plains beat them, then it is ChiefRussell. Whoever it is, needs to send their preference to me by COB Wednesday. Cheers

Bandit - reckon you are spot on - Powlett Plains' veterans fired this week, and I think Iron Knob had a rare shocker. Such are the ups and downs of finals footy. Probably means finals are wide open now - with Iron Knob, the Waikiks and Charlie's Opening being defeated ... Foul Bay now sits in the box seat in some ways, but the Packers and Birdsville notched some heroic scores this weekend. And I get the feeling that if Foul Bay does have first pick of opponent, I might be getting the call. I think there's a certain coach who was keen to see if his mob can avenge an earlier loss to my mob.
Notwithstanding the Waikiks getting beaten by our chosen opponents I have really warmed to this form of playoff. Sure we would still be alive with a second chance for finishing second and we may not produce such a poor performance again but that's fine by me. I wonder how the voting would be from an informal poll of (i) all coaches; (ii) the top eight from the home and away; and (iii) the top four coaches from the home and away series on second chance v. choose opponents. I do not know how the byes will fall next year but we may need to be creative with our final series and this might be a starting point for the FIXture committee. Hi guys if you can give me 60 I can get the scores up, Powlett definitely got up! Worst score of the year for the Codpieces by a long way! Les W Medal hangovers and the 'brownlow curse' seem to have struck Iron Knob big time with rare shocking performances from big names like Shuey, Hanley, Garland, Darling and Ablett once again with a sub par score. Congrats, Prap, scores up once i get my morning work sorted.
I agree Chels... although I didn't have a choice per se, as the 3 in front of me chose my opponent... i think it adds a bit of drama and also gets the bottom 4 of the Top 8 fired up... which adds to the banter and general atmosphere. I reckon we keep it
Thanks Jim. I would like to use this platform to issue a challenge to Adam Goodes to get up this week, so I can at least have a forward line for the semi-final and also to get a game out of him post trade.
Very unlucky for the Codpieces. Best team all year and the players that have got the job done for him week in week out, failed on the most important stage. Well done to the other winners!
