All praise goes to coach Prap for getting his boys fired up to take down the top team (no more) I was slightly worried Friday night when Hodge(130) and Grundy(93) both played great games, but was comfortable with the contributions from Bruest(88) and Puopolo(96) that I felt my team was superior to still come over the top of the Packers. Saturday was a busy family day for me so I was out and about all day but on the iPhone started getting some scores drift through on the Sat arvo which greatly concerned me, all from my boys, I didnt even need to see the Packers scores to know I was in HUGE trouble - It started with Abletts once again sub standard 97 and followed with a string of killers in Harbrow(49), Hanley(55), Darling(54) and the worst of them all (subbed out vomitting from too much partying) Shuey(27). Goldy, Jack Riewoldt and Grima to an extent the only two players to hold their heads up on the Saturday. I still had a glimmer of hope, I had N Jones, Garland, Griffen, Minson and Douglas to come, all capable of turning it on. So as the Melbourne game concluded - Jones(46) and Garland(48) I knew I was gone. Could Big Will, Griffen and Douglas save me? I clung to a thread of hope. Nope. Douglas and Minson did well, both tonning up, but I had needed huge games from them. Griffen like the rest of the Codpiece squad had a very quiet game when I needed more. Congrats Prap. Goodluck with the squad, hope Goodes comes back fro you this week and you shake the comp up.
Thanks again Jim. Congratulations on a great season. While 1300 is a score I believe the Packers are capable of regularly (while healthy), the Codpieces were often around and over that score on a weekly basis so the margin was definitely unexpected. I couldn't believe my eyes as the low scores kept piling up to be honest.

Sure we would still be alive with a second chance for finishing second and we may not produce such a poor performance again but that's fine by me. I wonder how the voting would be from an informal poll of (i) all coaches; (ii) the top eight from the home and away; and (iii) the top four coaches from the home and away series on second chance v. choose opponents. I do not know how the byes will fall next year but we may need to be creative with our final series and this might be a starting point for the FIXture committee. ORFFA - dedicated to improvement in your fantasy game experience. I went on record a couple of weeks back with some questions about the format, but I have to say that perhaps this format might just work, and might be a useful option if we are going to discuss the finals format for 2014 at some stage in the near future. My only question/issue with it would be whether choosing your preferred finals opponent is enough of a reward for finishing top 2. I'm not suggesting a 1924 style round robin thingee or 'right to challenge' provision (and that 1924 finals series was a mess, and as dodgy as hell apparently too, with accusations of match fixing and the like) but is there another alternative? No great stress either way - more just putting it out there. I'm not 100% sold on this format at the moment, but if we retain it, then that's OK as well.
I think if you finish first you should just go straight to the GF! Or lets bring back Chiefs GF win* from last year format as in EPL style
LOL TBH I am not too fussed, I dont mind the current 'choose your opponent' style but if we go double chance thats fine by me too.
This discussion should be about the current final series. There will be a discussion dedicated to discussing finals format (as flagged earlier). Good to see Bandit, at least, remains unflinchingly on-topic.
Happy with the current finals series but ultimately it all comes down to what the fixture looks like for 2014 and beyond. As far as this year goes, I don't like having the pressure of picking the preliminary finals matches. If I pick them like I pick my team every week then I am bound to stuff it up for myself. Will hopefully make a call by tomorrow night. I need to go and overthink it some more.

Not sure if this thread will continue to be used throughout the finals, or if there's a new thread to put the FIXture in, but in any case, I'm not gonna announce it now anyway. i can confirm that the Week 2, Semi Final FIXture is set, but I'll post it tomorrow. aTo allow for the 4 teams to make arrangements for the weekend, I can announce now that the home teams are Foul Bay and Birdsville

When the thread is called THE REAL ORRFA FINALS, why would it not continue to be used throughout the finals? Is there any ambiguity in there? Are our thoughts starting to turn elsewhere? Zac Dawson would have announced it. He would not have waited until tomorrow. He would have just stepped up to the plate and done it. No hesitation. Or abuse of rank. Don't believe me? Ask Fitzy. /Portals/0/User%20Images/Summer%20loading.jpg Hey, Deputy Daawg! We still using the three strikes policy?
geez, Ive racked up 3 strikes in a matter of hours! hahaha Only reason I didnt do it last night was cause i didnt have time to do it properly. Bandit sent me his prievew just as I was about to head off to basketball. My game was starting at 10pm, so by the time it is finished and I get home, I didnt have time to do it afterwards either. I wanted to copy Bandit's preview into a blog thread, but couldnt have done it last night. Only reason I posted a comment in here was cause the deadline had passed for CR to give his preference, so I felt it was necessary to let people know he hadnt missed the deadline. I didnt want to post the whole fixture so i didnt take away from Bandit's preview, and thought it was fun for everyone to get a sneak peak JC probably let out a sigh of relief last night

'JC probably let out a sigh of relief last night ' At least I can tell the difference between a sigh of relief and a fart. There is no difference.

No changes from last week at this stage. I was hoping for a few more options given the inconsistent nature of some of our forwards in particular, but not to be. But since this lovable bunch of frittatas got the job done last week, I'm hoping/begging/praying they can do it again. C'mon lads! You lifted when I asked you to last week and I need you to do it again!!!
