Gariwerd 1221 drew with Lovely Banks 1221
An unprecedented and thrilling draw was the end result of a high-quality match-up between Gariwerd and Lovely Banks - the game going right down to the wire and the final seconds.
Lovely Banks had built a handy lead going into the final stages of the match, thanks to the continued good form of Craig Bird (138), Jake Carlisle (127) and Geelong duo Duncan (111) and Corey (110). But Gariwerd's final duo of Deledio and new recruit Dal Santo sparked a comeback - and Lovely Banks was forced to hold on grimly through the agency of an injured Dylan Roberton.
Ultimately, scores ended up locked together on 1221 - the first draw in ORFFA history.
Bird, Carlisle, Duncan and Corey top scored for the Lilacs, while Kurt Tippett's return to the seniors was impressive (130) for Gariwerd. Bundy Christensen (125), Dal Santo (123) and Smith (106) rounded out the Cockies' best players.

    Wagga Wagga 1281 d Mt Beauty 1077
Youngsters Dion Prestia (151) and Ryan Bastinac (137) spearheaded a solid Wombats' effort in its 204-point win over Mt Beauty.
Six Wombats cracked the ton (including Thompson, Cox and the improving Josh Jenkins), though one of them - Lindsay Thomas - may be under scrutiny by the ORFFA tribunal after some questionable head movements during the game.
For Mt Beauty, too much was left to too few, with only Leuenberger and Cotchin notching three figures. Wingard continued his fine form, while Hartlett scored 95.

    Waikikamoocow 1219 d Gundagai 784
Despite a busy draft period, Gundagai was unable to match it with the cow-kickers, falling to a heavy defeat.
Waikikamoocow enjoyed a solid effort across the board, with only two players reaching 100 (Taylor (131) and Jacobs (103). However another six players scored 80 or more to help boost the total.
For Gundagai, a new look midfield fired - recruits Van Berlo and Mullett playing well. But fit forwards, backs and rucks remain a challenge - though the impending return of a number of players in the coming 2-3 weeks should help that situation.
Mitchell (118) and O'Keefe (116) toiled hard for the Grasshoppers and led the scoring.

    Birdsville 1371 d Powlett Plains 1276
Birdsville continued its fine form with a 95-point win over the Powlett Plains Packers in a high-quality, clash between two likely finallists.
As with a few teams this week, a solid team effort was the order of the day for the Battlers. Brad Ebert (130) and McEvoy (120) top-scored, while Porps and big Jono Brown also contributed 100+ scores. The form of new recruit Rory Laird up back was also noteworthy.
For the Packers, just a couple of low scores from Chaplin and Dan Gorringe (OOP) hampered the team's effort.
The evergreen Bob Murphy (133) led the way, with Cornes, Hodge and Franklin all scoring centuries. New recruit Max Gawn excelled in the ruck, and looks to be a real find.

    Charlie's Opening 1356 d Marble Bar 1202
Big Drew Petrie was at it again on the weekend, leading the Spelunkers to a handy 150 point win over the Misfits.
Petrie (138) led a balanced scoring effort by the Spelunkers, with the rejuvenated Dan Jackson continuing his career-best form (123), and Messrs Mackie, LeCras and Gunston also topping 100. Shane Savage's return to familiar territory after a short delisting was more than solid - 94 points off the bench in fact.
For Marble Bar, the Butler definitely did it (129), but unfortunately didn't attract enough support to push for a win - only Sewell and Terlich joining him in three figures. New recruit Tom Nicholls (84) gavea big boost in the ruck though and, with fellow recruit Adam Tomlinson, provided some real positive signs for the Marble Bar faithful.

    Darraweit Guim 1196 d Whitsundays 1044
A late scoring charge saved the blushes of Darraweit Guim selection officials, with the Dirigibles managing a 152 point win over the Warriors.
The inclusion of Lachlan Hunter (sub, 8) over Paul Seedsman (120) looked to have severely dented Darraweit's chances. Oliver Wines' superb 114 for the Warriors only saw the margin balloon further.
Luckily, late points-scoring from Rance (112), Foley, Edwards and Ty Vickery (152 but OOP in the ruck) was enough to overcome that deficit.
For the Warriors, Wines, Gibson (102) and Boak (97) top-scored. Defensive debutants Talia (77) and Johannisen (68) showed more than enough to justify their selections. For Darraweit, Harvey (110) also topped the ton, with new recruits Westhoff (94), Hutchings (101) and Otten (74) more than handy.

    Venus Bay 1217 d Larrikin Lagoon 1157
The prodigal son returned for Venus Bay, with Jack Watts turning in a season-best performance to spearhead a close win over the Lefties.
Watts' 139 led five Vultures topping 100, including Gibbs (120), Watson (127) and Parker (113). These efforts help cover for the fact the Vultures played one short throughout the game, with gun midfielder David Mundy injured.
The Lefties were also short of full strength, missing Selwood and Coniglio through the midfield. Priddis (103), top scored, while a number of big names were slightly down on their best.
Good news came in the form of a number of new recruits to the Lagoon - Lynch (92), Dureya (78) and Baguley (67) among them.

    Foul Bay 1450 d Nunawading 1130
Foul Bay depth and scoring potential was on show in its 320 win over Nunawading, with 8 players scoring over the ton.
Liberatore (163), Dangerfield (141), Pearce (114) and Roughead (112) led the Chooks, who could've in fact scored more if it wasn't for disappointing performances from Selwood and Dahlhaus.
For Nunawading, the bench led the way with Broadbent and O'Meara both top-scoring with 107. Simpson scored 106, while Stanton notched 99. Chris Dawes' form (91) was encouraging, as was Ryan Lester's 91.

    Iron Knob 1516 d Cradle Mountain 877
Formidable is about the only word to describe the Codpieces, who justifiably remain flag favourites after topping 1500 and belting the Devils.
Eight players from Iron Knob scored more than 100, with Griffen (148) shading a bunch of others including Ablett (115), Breust (111), Jack Riewoldt (116), Goldstein (103), Jones (106) and Minson (125). Even O'hAilpin (115) joined in the fun.
For Cradle Mountain, late withdrawals and other absences didn't help their cause, and saw them play at least a couple of players short.
Pendlebury (112) and Heppell (104) led the scoring, while veteran Jude Bolton was more than handy with 90.

Round 12 ORFFA Fixture - Kokoda Trail (or Track) Round
This round is to recognise the Diggers who fought in the SP in WW2. Following in the footsteps of the Hawks in the AFL, this round will support the efforts of the Kokoda Track Foundation in helping to raise money for the health and education of those currently living on the Track. The Kokoda Track Foundation provides health and education programs for children on the track who often struggle to receive basic medical care and schooling - a basic social need which is often denied through lack of funding.
