I'd be happy to go with Fyfe...MPP and he hasn't tried to kill his knee in the last 6 months. And fair point about the early lock-in on the team.
I think Stevie J will have a bung knee this year, and that Fyfe is the 'new cool'. Also think we can afford to wait til friday to lock in final team with GWS rookies being named The rest of the team is pretty locked...
@anthak Some are wanting wednesday lunch (say 1pm AEST) as was orignally decided and confirmed recently by one of the league admins (Wars). Others are wanting Thursday and some Friday ! I will have a stab at what I think the current team and exact leftover cash is (reflecting the discussion above)! That way if/when Wars/Juls want to they can say "HERE's THE FINAL TEAM!" including any further late tweaks they feel are needed in their divine wisdom. Cheers TTH
I've made a few rookie changes based on people suggestions though was a little hard as nothing was very well discussed. Have a look at what you think and make clear suggestions on who you think should be replaced by who. Def: Goddard, delidio, Shaw, BROUGHTON, Lake, B.Ellis (rich), S.Darley (GWS) B.Smedts (geel) S.Morris (rich) Mid: Pendlebury, Ablett, JSelwood, Thopmson, C.Wingard (Port), J Mcdonald (GWS) C Smith (WBD) J Magner (Melb) Ruck; Cox J Giles (gws) J Redden (port) O.Stephenson (geel) Fwds; franklin, Fyfe, Martis, Cloke, Porplyzia, D.Smith (GWS) A Hall (GC) T. Dickenson (WBD) and T. Couch (melb) Remaining salary cap $31 800 I tried to include saad/cripps but are both more expensive and also clarke was suggested somewhere for the backline and he was also more expensive. Anyway - Discuss
I just joined the 2nd league... Can we bring in 1 more gun to the forward line, and one to the backline, removing one from the midfield? These are my suggestions: If we're going to have 6-8 rookies on the field, wouldn't it be better to have more of them in the midfield? I definitely vote for Fyfe being IN, also Chapman as opposed to Stevie J. I like Thompson being in, even though he is more of a Dream Team specialist. I agree with whoever it was before that suggested Pfeiffer be in. I would prefer Hargrave over Lake. Pendlebury > Jobe Watson David Hale in to the ruck Wingard > Koby Stevens or J Macdonald Would also like to see Heppell and/or Suckling in to the backline Hampton should also be in as a forward rookie But even if you ignore all my suggestions, i'm not fussed, i'll go along with whatever the jury decides.

Current team ................ ** Changes made since last team posted by WARS #1 - FYFE IN OFR STEVIE J (widely supported) #2 - PAINE IN FOR TRELOAR OUT (several wanted Treloar out, Paine was suggested and fits salary cap but is highly questionable IMO) –– CASH LEFT = $16,700, CASH WITH TRELOAR INSTEAD OF PAINE = $10,100 DEFENDERS 1. GODDARD, Brendon [MID] 2. DELEDIO, Brett [MID] 3. SHAW, Heath 4. BROUGHTON, Greg 5. LAKE, Brian 6. ELLIS, Brandon 7. BUGG, Tomas 8. MORRIS, Steven 9. SMEDTS, Billie [FWD] MIDFIELDERS 10. PENDLEBURY, Scott 11. ABLETT, Gary 12. SELWOOD, Joel 13. THOMPSON, Scott 14. WINGARD, Chad 15. MAGNER, James 16. MILES, Anthony 17. SMITH, Devon [FWD] RUCKS 18. COX, Dean 19. GILES, Jonathan 20. REDDEN, Jarrad 21. STEPHENSON, Orren FORWARDS 22. FRANKLIN, Lance ** 23. FYFE [MID] 24. MARTIN, Dustin [MID] 25. CLOKE, Travis 26. PORPLYZIA, Jason 27. HALL, Aaron ** 28. PAINE [DEF] 29. DICKSON, Tory 30. KENNEDY, Adam [MID]
Note I would have preferred one of Cripps, Tomlinson, Pfeiffer, Milera or Saad to Paine but we can’t afford ANY of these and Paine does have DPP link to Smedts. We CAN afford either Weedon or Couch instead of Paine. Mxing and matching other suggestions which have been made but not incorporated into the above team [EDIT - have jsut seen the latets suggestions above] – HARGRAVE/M CLARKE IN FOR LAKE – 1 each - Heppell and/or Suckling in to the backline for ????? - 1only - CLAY SMITH/K STEVENS/J MCDONALD IN FOR WINGARD to free up cash for a better FWD (ie Cripps/Tomlinson instead of Paine) - 1 each (worth considering??) - SWALLOW/WATSONM IN FOR S THOMPSON - 1 only - Pendlebury > Jobe Watson (but Jobe not in the team unless he replaces S Thompson??)- 1only - MILES OUT FOR ???? - HALL OUT for another forward - 1 only - $$$ still an issue though - PFIEFFER IN FOR ??? - 1 only - $$$ still an issiue - Hampton should also be in as a forward rookie - 1only - CAMERON IN FOR EITHER KENNEDY OR DICKSON - 1 only - HALE INTO RUCK - 1 only - if rplacing a rookie then $$$ an issue, possibly as "Lead" 0-1-3 ruck?? Cheers TTH
go me - I can load an image correctly! <img src="http://tooserious.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/29inu-tg2103.jpg" />
With regard to my Hale suggestion, he'd probably go better alongside Kreuzer... However, neither of those 2 are likely to be finishing ruckmen like Cox or Mumford etc. Hale + Kreuz would probably avg about 160-170 ppg between the 2 of them, Cox + Giles would probably avg at LEAST 170 and require 1 less trade to ensure 2 primo rucks at the end of the season... Do you disagree with Watson and Thompson being in the same line up? I wouldn't mind Pendles > Watson (frees up $$$... then Paine > Pfeiffer... Lake > Hargrave... Morris > M Clarke (3 tigers in 1 line? that doesn't sit well) How about moving Devon Smith to the forward line (replace Kennedy or Hall), bringing in Clay Smith or K Stevens in to the midfield.
I dont think pendls > Watson is a good idea, not having pendles from the start i think will be a mistake. I like the idea of smith in fwd too.
